  • Stitching a wool applique project and showing you how I do each step. First project of 2021 and I made it in one day!
    I'm considering posting more videos on other needlework crafts, besides punch needle embroidery. Would you like that, or would you rather I keep the main focus on punch needle?
    And, maybe changing my channel name to Punch Needle ~ Needlework with Privies and Prims. I know it's a long name, but I want the channel name to tell what the channel is about. Thoughts? Suggestions? Tell me what you think, in the comments below.

    Thanks for showing and describing the appliqué process. What a cute design! About how long will the pieces stick on the wool foundation using the Tacky Glue before the pieces fall off? Thanks 😷

    • @PriviesandPrimsNeedlecrafts
      @PriviesandPrimsNeedlecrafts  3 года назад

      Good question! They didn't stay on very long. I'm not sure if it was the tacky glue of the glue stick that didn't work so well, but I ended up using pins on a lot of it. I'll have to find something else to try.

    Thank you so much for the variety. I believe as creative people we all need new information or ideas. So please variety is best! I have always used soft fuse for my wool appliqué, you mention you have previously used a glue stick. I wondered what brand. Thanks again and please keep the videos coming, you are a great teacher.

    • @PriviesandPrimsNeedlecrafts
      @PriviesandPrimsNeedlecrafts  3 года назад +1

      Thanks Susan. I went yesterday and bought an Elmer's glue stick. I tried cheap ones and they don't work as well. Using the liquid glue was too messy. I've never used the fusing method.

    Happy New Year! I enjoyed your wool appliqué video. It’s nice to see a variety of needle arts. If you’re a sewist, could you do something on thread painting also? Also the next time you do punch needle, could you show up close how you use the punch needle-the direction and where the bevel is headed. Thanks!

    • @PriviesandPrimsNeedlecrafts
      @PriviesandPrimsNeedlecrafts  3 года назад

      Hi Karen. I've never heard of thread painting, so I can't help you there.
      With punch needle, I always punch sideways or towards me. You don't want the thread behind the needle if that makes sense. Check some of my Chat & Punch videos. They may be helpful.

      Hi Carmen. I'm not sure you can purchase it at a regular store. I've only seen it in thrift stores. I did a search and the needle comes up, but I would NOT suggest using that! I recommend (and sell) the Ultra Punch tool. Search on FB groups and you'll see that the cheap tools are a waste of money.
      The brand is Clarke's Punch Embroidery Oh Sew Easy Yarns & Threads. I usually see it for 25 cents or 50 cents at the most, but I've only seen it in thrift stores.

      I thought it was just me not being able to locate. I haven't had much luck finding any woolen products in thrifts stores here in the South. Texas but i do ok when i go to Kansas City and Chicago. both are my home areas
