- As many of you have no doubt noticed, my upload rate lately has dropped significantly, and I've generally been putting out short-form videos that cap out at twenty minutes.
The reasons for this are twofold:
Firstly, my long suffering, horribly abused, and badly outdated PC has finally started to die, and half hour videos are about all it can handle right now. This is why my original upload of Darth Vader versus Kyle Katarn was so glitchy towards the end, forcing me to re-upload it in three separate parts.
Fortunately, I've just started two new jobs, which will finance a replacement computer, though this also brings me to the second reason:
I had to find new employment, which I did, and I had to learn my new job, which I have. Now that I'm settled into a more stable position, I feel comfortable getting back on the wagon and I in fact have several projects and collaborations lined up in the near future, in addition to whatever fluff projects I end up putting out on an idle whim.
Been a big fan of your work since I was in Middle School, and that hasn't changed since I moved on to high school, was conscripted into the Army, and then began my time at University. Your channel has that much lasting quality to it that it is a timeless pleasure. This is avant-garde geekdom in its purest form.

@@etherealmatt9352 I kind of also feel like this is a lifeline of fresh content for the ''Old Guard'' of Star Wars EU fans. With Disney having burned all bridges to the Expanded Universe and frozen all of its projects, the only place of us to go to see new things based on the Star Wars content that WE grew up with is here and on the channels of the other members of the forcecast.
That's an amazing life so far. May I ask which Army you served with?
@@77777Spooky Thank you my friend, I served for 14 months as a conscript in the Cypriot National Guard as a tank operator. I had the option of serving only 6 months instead as I am a dual national (Greek Cypriot-American) but I opted to serve the full time instead like all my peers. After the first 2-4 months of cool training and exercises, things got a bit boring during the never ending hours of night-time watch duty, but i found that videos like these and science fiction books were good company on cold. humid January nights by myself in isolated watchtowers in the woods.

Darth Bane vs Count Dooku.
Is the implication here that one of them obviously has no chance? Because that sounds like a hell of a fight.
I agree that sounds like a great fight but I can see him pulling parallels to Anakin vs Dooku. Though personally I favor Dooku in this match up.
I've been a fan of the channel for nearly a decade. Glad to hear you're doing okay and please take whatever time you need. By far my favourite aspect of your output has always been your emphasis on quality over quantity!
My friends and I began a long running Star Wars D&D game with various amounts of homebrew rulings, and your works were essential in some of our decisions and rule makings. Always a pleasure to see you putting stuff out, you're a huge influence and keeper of what is easily one of the most awesome pieces of fiction created! Thanks for everything!

Its great to hear that you will branching your Versus Series style into other franchises. That exactly how I started out I just copied your format and applied to videogame franchises I really enjoyed and I enjoyed my 7 year run. Can't wait to see what you have in store.

I'm excited for the verses videos that have fights with obvious victors but still explaining the merits of the fight. Some interesting stuff with Doku coming ahead! Obi Wan could also be interesting for some of those fights

Love that Malak vs Windu is leading to deliberate straightforward matchups but fun to discuss. Kind of like when you and Evan looked at matchups like Asharad Hett vs Darth Maul or...Coleman Trebor vs Grandmaster Zym.
Btw on Vodo vs Grevious, on Paper Grevious would slaughter. Vodo doesn't really use TK offensively and Grevious output + RNG bladework would be a lot for the crab to handle. But Vodo could probably disarm grevious of one of his weapons and dual wield his staff with a lightsaber. Could also use his lower limbs as arms and fight 4 blade to 4 blade.
Lol at calling Darth Malgus Darth Malak. That would have be a fun bit in your Darth Malgus vs Darth Malak vid if you kept naming them wrong the whole time.
Unfortunate to hear GreyJedi91 bowed out of Exar Kun vs Darth Bane but I had feeling given its been at least 2 years since you 2 announced the project.
Edit: I just saw the notice GreyJedi91 gave 3 months ago. Its unfortunate to hear but happy to see hes made a new video and doing well.

After giving Hett more thought he has enough strenght to beat tcw Maul as he had a lengthy duel with Kenobi who still had his rots soresu mastery, got an upper hand on angry Anakin and he is much more focused than tcw Maul that is just berserking
@@TrajGreekFire Hett would probably slaughter because the power levels of Legends Characters are way stronger than Disney cannon characters.
Now if we assume some equality of Legends vs cannon, its possible for Hett to pull a win I just dont see odds in his favor.

I was also genuinely surprised to see you commenting on 3TopicsGamer's Galen Marek vs Cal Kestis, but I'm glad you appreciate Cal's character.
The short obvious format is a nice change pace, and honestly, Malgus (sic) vs Galen is a fight I'm actually curious about. I also hope the other fights you mentioned having in the works in the last 2-3 years will come soon, I'd love to hear your takes on Ka'sim or Cade Skywalker.
Lastly, pity about Matt stepping down, but after seeing where he is now, I understand.

Glad to see your getting back on the saddle again man. I totally get what you went through too, all of 2020 and the first quarter of 2021 was me bouncing from job to job because I kept getting let go after a few weeks/months. Thankfully though I finally have a stable job now that I've managed to learn and hold on to and that pays pretty well for nearly a year now, and just like you my PC just isn't cutting it anymore either and I've begun buying parts to build a replacement.
It's been rough for all of us lately but it looks some if not most are finally starting to get our lives back in order. Anyway, I apologize about that little tangent, I look forward to your future videos and I'm glad to hear your doing well.
I'm VERY hyped for the non-Star Wars content. Not because I dislike SW stuff (quite the contrary if we ignore large parts of the "new canon"), but rather more because I think your take is too interesting to be only be limited to SW.
Exar Kun V Bane has me the most excited and this new type of vs where aspects are flushed out dispite a clear winner sounds highly highly interesting as for VS outside of star wars I like the idea but i'd need to see the execution not that i doubt it at all. hope all goes well with these upcoming projects

We NEED a 2 v2 matchup of Anakin and Luke vs Tyranus and RotS Palpatine
I’d love to see to see Galen Marek and Darth Vader vs the Emperor.
I think it’s more likely the Emperor would win, but it would be close and the teamwork could work
I mean if we are talking in character with all characters its tough to say, Sidous himself has been shown able to quickly kill Jedi Masters while a force user in his weight class was present although Starkiller may be strong enough to resist (assuming we are not operating under the assumption Sidious can't one shot him. If you mean The Sith Emperor Vitiate the problem with him is he is very featless in terms of combat (especially in terms of lightsaber styles, and hes basically a less known Darth Nihilus) and the plot basically had to nerf him to make him beatable (they built him up to be basically a Sith chosen one as even as a child he was able to defeat and adult Sith lord and essentially ascended beyond typical mortal senses etc) although he was arguably the greatest known threat in the Starwars EU (the fact he was gonna consume basically all life in the galaxy at once through a massive ritual dictates as much) he lost to another featless character The Hero of Tython who the only thing we know for certain about is he is vaguely stronger than Revan (and is obviously supposed to be like a Luke/Anakin analog). If we went by his lore at face value (as in hes basically a force God like the ones) its a total curb stomp
@@DTheCritical When I said the Emperor, I meant Sidious. I just think it would be a fun match up for Force Unleashed fans. Like I said I think Sidious would likely win, but if I could see scenarios where Vader and Marek could come out on top.
Jensaarai I’m not going to lie here, it is a great pleasure to hear your voice again. And honestly I wouldn’t mind seeing non-Star Wars content from you. And I’m glad to hear you’re making bank at your new jobs. I’m glad things are getting better for you and I’m particularly excited to see Exar Kun vs Darth Bane and General Grevious vs. Ulic Qel-Droma. Especially all of the projects you are keeping secret will be wonderful to see. And given the number of projects we’ll probably be getting about 2 a month which would be a beauty to see. Nice to hear :) although I think Bane vs Dooku is a actually a really contested topic in Star Wars debating. Bane has a stylistic advantage, a few techniques Dooku lacks and likely more knowledge (Dooku was amazed by Darth Andeddus holocron, Bane considered all it's knowledge basic aside from Essence Transfer), but many would put Dooku above Bane on a scaling and performance basis.
I think that it's a very fair match. Dooku is clearly the better duelist, and on per in terms of force power and skill. I just think that Bane uses his dark side powers to greater effect, and he probably has youth and vitality on his side.
I think this is closer than most people think. Despite Bane's clear stylistic advantage as a Djem So duelist, Dooku has the speed and finesse to handle him. Where he falls short is in his commitment to Dark Side abilities. Bane has a deeper knowledge base there (especially by the end of his life) and might be able to overwhelm or surprise him through sheer magnitude and fluency in the Force.
@@drachna Its hard to say which Bane would be a better match, Darth Bane: Dynasty of Evil Darth Bane is him at his strongest in terms of experience and Lightsaber skill, orbalisk armor Darth Bane although amped would give him the chance to take a more aggressive approach (though its debatable if Dooku could handle him/could Dooku's force lightning be strong enough to overload the orbalisk's themselves (if he causes their poision to be release Darth Bane is pretty much done as it caused him to go into shock for until he could be healed by a Force Doctor essentially (implied to be one of the most skilled healers in the Galaxy at the time).

Have you ever thought of doing a video about the current state of canon? I've noticed that you seem to prefer "legends" continuity over the new canon, but I can't help but wonder if you think the newer stuff has any redeeming value, or even shines above some of the older canon.

Dope. With most of the former Forcecasters either becoming more sporadic or pursuing other projects (can't blame them, the versus format has been around for a while now and focusing on one franchise would get stale for most), I'm happy to see that you're still carrying the torch for Legacy content. And despite my lack of engagement with HP (thanks to JK being transphobic garbage), that sorcerers' duel still sounds fairly interesting.

The one I’m most looking forward to from this announcement is Darth Malgus vs Galen Marek. They really do have a lot in common and while Malgus is the obvious Victor it’s a pretty close match since they both use… I think I’m a past video you said “brawler tactics” to describe Malgus? Skilled and dexterous fighters, but a much greater emphasis on basic techniques, cheating and aiming for an opponents weakness allowing for powering through opponents rather than victory through developed skill. The MMA fighters of the franchise as opposed to Muay Thai champions.

Bultar Swan vs Anoon Bandara would be interesting. Both are excellent martial artists as well as sword masters and capable with the force. Bandara acquitted himself well against Darth Maul in his peak even if he lost and Swan was able to endure and even hurt Darth Vader. ( it’s true Vader was still adapting to his new body and she wasn’t the only Jedi there, but she was the only one that he didn’t outright defeat and I think she could’ve escaped if she wasn’t blind sided by one of her own.) I think it would be a good fight. Another fun match for swan could also be Darth Azard.( my personal favorite sith of the legacy era, as he is as cool looking, highly skilled in combat and was a efficient if inelegant military commander. Plus in my personal opinion he’s a better duelist than Stryfe, and possibly stronger in the force. Stryfe was killed by a one armed Wolf Sazen in a suicide run where Azard faced a two armed Sazen and was only defeated when Krayt’s presence distracted him.)
Hey Jensaarai One did you see Seththeprogrammer's video on Every Sith From Weakest To Strongest? I personally found his approach to scaling to be flawed (as it seems hes operating under the assumption the Rule of Two is a perfect ascension of power and despite the fact the Starwars EU universe itself is infact a VERY skilled based in terms of combat I would argue more so than say the Naruto universe in some ways)
