I'd say Fractalsponge is better but he focuses more on Imperial ships, Fractal's LAAV is imo way better than the LA-AG, having a much wider troop bay that can carry a full platoon. Fractal's Imperial Nebulon B also feels more like a production model while EC Henry's feels more like an early prototype. EC Henry is the best at rebel ships though.
I dont know how EC renders his images, but they invoke this feeling that I'm looking at pictures of practical miniature props and not 3D renders. It takes a special kind of skill to make you second guess if what you're looking at is a still frame from a deleted scene or not.
What i'll say to defend the Magister, the empire *did* need all those fighters, the Rebellion simply had such more advanced fighters that the Empire only could respond in numbers due to Imperial Beurocracy, simply look at the hangars on the Quazar, Imperial Dreadnoughts and how the Venators were filled with even *more* fighters in the Imperial Era.
that is true but a single ISD can carry a little over 70 fighters (cant remember exact number right now) and though we almost never see them use all their fighters, just 70 ties could overwhelm a single squad of X wings (12 ships), While the ISD could take out any carrier if they had one (unless it was a ship like the ghost). I do think the empire would have more problems if their were very skilled pilots flying the rebel ships but it would make more sense for the empire to just make more Defenders, Brutes, Inteceptors, and others instead of the magister! I know like it sounded like I was hating on the Magister but it is a great ship that could have been very usefull, I just think that the empire should make other ships instead!
EC henry is the GOOOAAAT. I've seen other artists too and they're very good as well, especially for some of the Mandalorian revamp concepts such as in army and naval designs.
Side note: great commentary, really more than some reaction -- it's rare we hear people delve into their personal yet relative (relevant) perspectives of concepts.
Heh! Newest subscriber, but first to comment on this awesome video?! Talk about a win-win! Anyway, I *love* these designs, ESPECIALLY the Imerialized LAAT! Long live the Empire.
That Magistor by Howy definitely has the capability to carry 20 squadrons. Probably 5 or 6 of these would be the XG1s and missle boats he's depicted. I would imagine the TIEs and bombers are loaded in bays in the front as well as on racks in the inside hangers. I think what howy was going for was a more "imperial" / updated-Secutor design. Also the Nebulan-B has plenty of firepower to serve as an escort, thats why it was created in the first place. To serve as a convoy escort and guard imperial shipping lanes. It has great detection and communication, and is an excellent carrier for its size. Only ship I'd take over it would be the Carrack, another excellent Imp ship. Only reason the rebels used the one we see as a medical ship was because it was severely stripped down for parts and had its reactor switched out. The NR tore apart ships like this to supply their Mon Cal fleet in an effort to match the empire. Great vid, and yeah these are all part of my head canon as far as I am concerned haha
I like you're design idea for the Imperial ASC, I imagine it being a cross between the Fondor Haulcraft from Andor and the head of a AT-AT being well armored and providing a high survival rate due to the fact that it maybe carrying command staff. And yeah the Magister Class is just the Star Destroyer version of a Lucrehulk in my opinion.
The Nebulan B being referred to as weak is a new one for me. For its size, its one if the most powerful frigates in the Star Wars Universe being only truly bested by the Mon Cala MC30.
2:15 Hey, just so you know: we have seen the Nebulon-B in Imperial service many times since the mid-1980s. It looks… the same as the Nebulon-B in the movies. Because that's its original design. There's no need to force a different design onto the vessel just to "Make it look more Imperial", removing any character the design used to have - this is the same reason I hate the Arquitens it's just a micro ISD, no creativity at all. The Raider corvette is also guilty of this. Not every Imperial ship has to be a triangle. Before the Disney buyout, the Empire used Corellian corvettes (although more prominently during the Warlord Era), Nebulon-Bs, Dreadnaught cruisers, Lancer frigates and Carrack cruisers just to name a few. Henry's design could work as a Fel Empire era ship that was derived from the old design. But I was already surprised when EckhartsLadder praised his NebB, and the "reasoning" of the Rebel version obviously not being the original one, over the moon even though he should know better. Fractalsponge's designs have problems as well, mostly gigantic power scaling issues.
I always interpreted the back hangar on the Magister as being there for shuttles during planetary sieges/blockades. That way should a fight breakout they wouldn't need to expose themselves, especially with the open design of the Magister offering a lot less cover. Then there’s the forward hangars that feel like their for assault/boarding shuttles or capturing smaller ships.
2:00 it literally is more armed than an Arquitens when being roughly the same size, and especially when you take into consideration in can hold a squadron of fighters while the base Arquitens can only hold 3 externally
While the base arquiens will only hold three fighters, it is able to hold 12 as long as you use a couple of certain refits, of course the command variant does already come with 12
I usually have a hard time picking favorites but my top 3 would probably be the same except swap out the Magister-class with the Revenge-class Heavy Carrier from the classic fan film series IMPS: The Relentless except with an updated design to better fit the Star Wars aesthetic. One of my main criticisms of the first episode of that series was that it came out in 2005 I believe (and started production in 1999) and so because of that a lot of the designs reflect that time period more. There’s a lot of stuff in that episode that more closely resembles Battlestar Galactica than Star Wars. One specific instance of this is that before ships entered hyperspace they basically created a wormhole that they jump through which I didn’t really like. As the series progressed though it got a lot better at feeling like Star Wars.
@@PurgeTrooperProductions yeah I called it a Mythosaur class. Its basically a four kilometre long mobile weapons platform. It also has no shields and relies on armour. I thought it would be cool to have a ship that can tank shots with no shields.
Three I'd love to see made cannon and appear in a movie? 1. Fractalsponge's Bellator-Class Star Dreadnought. 2. Jannik Mewes's Annihilator-Class Star Dreadnought. 3. Fractalsponge's Intersector-class Star Sloop.
I thought the whole point of the Nebulon B what is that the entire front wedge thing was loaded up with weapons. You made it sound like it had no weapons, I thought the whole point was that giant wedge... that angular wedge was just all weapons and Turbo Lasers... No?
I’d reconfigure the Magistrate class as a mobile Star Destroyer shipyard forge and repair facility. Arm a couple of Tie Defender carrying Quasars and escort with Lancers and Vigil corvettes and you can build and repair Victory and Imperial Class SD’s on the go.
No disrespect, but your craft fits a niche that doesn’t really exist. You don’t need an aerial command post. A mobile one for the ground maybe. For the role you’re talking about, the Star Destroyer is far better suited to role of command post from above (and is far less vulnerable.) That doesn’t make your design wrong. If I may, it looks like something that would serve well with law enforcement. A heavier ship to deal with more heavily arm criminal groups
Thank you for your feedback, I like your idea for law enforcement a lot and I could maybe seen it more in the use as a more armed version of the laat/le gunship for patrolling places like coruscant or lothal.

WHAT-?!? A StarWars-tuber, freshly hatched from the egg. We must protect you at all costs.
We will watch his career with great interest!
This is the way
EC Henry, Justin Fletcher (Skyforge), Howie Day, Angelos Kaderinis, are all brilliant, all worth watching.

@@turtleperson3538 I completely agree and I think that’s most likely why everyone loves their work!
The LAAG is honestly sick except for the oversized wings, I feel like the wings should atleast fold into itself like a tripod when it's in a hangar.

4:19 given its size I’d say it could easily hold 80 squadrons of fighters.

Too small for an entire Imperial Star Destroyer but defninetly a Victory Class Star Destroyer
