The Imperial Army always made the Empire feel more grounded. Keeping the stormtroopers as a sort of marine-corp/republican guard analogue makes them scarier and elite. Seeing Stormies should be a one-in-a-ten or twenty thing, with recruited or conscripted grunts being the main force just makes sense.

For real, seeing stormtroopers all the time really takes away from their character overall. It just makes them look like another foot soldier, nothing special.

Goes to show how little the writers actually think about how Stormtroopers should be previewed in this universe. When the Imperial Army is seen the good guys should be reasonably cautious but still confident that they have control of the situation. When the Stormtroopers arrive the good guys should know that they are screwed or really poked a bear. Just like the Death troopers turned that tide at Scarif in Rogue One, Stormtroopers should be the guys in oh bring in when things really go south.

Worth noting that even before Fel many warlords would put their Army troopers in stormtrooper armor for "Intimidation factor" which steadily backfired as Stormies became something closer to their unearned meme status in our world.

There was also another really cool branch of the Imperial Army: Army starfighter pilots. Yes, the Imperial Army had their own TIE Fighters and bombers (usually the older model whose name I forgot, which needed a second specialised TIE for targeting - this model of TIE Bomber was too bad for the Navy, so they gave them away to the Army) which assisted the ground troops in combat and guarded Imperial planetary installations.
I think there has never been an official picture of Imperial Army TIE pilots, but I like the idea that they have different uniforms than Imperial Navy pilots.

Even if Nucanon made them a "Temporary measure to use clone era PDFs as fodder before a full transition to stormtroopers" I appreciate their inclusion because the one team not slacking at Lucasfilm is the props department. And god DAYUM do they look sweet.

    Great work.
However, judging by the Andor show, a single squad of Army troopers is made of 4 soldiers, not 9 (as said and showed in ep. 6 of the show).
Also, not concerning the Army, but in ROTJ, a Imperial officer send 3 squads for reinforcement outside the bunker. Then, we can see 6 Stormtrooper, 1 officer in black uniform, 1 officer in grey uniform and 8 Navy troopers.
The only way to solve the problem is to consider that 1 squad of Navy troopers is made by 4 soldiers. We then have 2 squads of 4 Navy troopers, 1 squad of 6 Stomtroopers in armor lead by an Officer in black uniform. Those 15 trooper are lead ny a Officer in a grey uniform.
It's consistant with Andor: regular Army and Navy have 4 soldiers in a squad. 7 (6+1 chief) for the Stormtrooper corp.

In most cases, yes, but I'm not too sure this is entirely innacurate. In the infographic portion of the video, I show up to the size of AN army, not THE entirety of the Imperial army altogether. I couldn't find stats for the size of the entire galaxy spanning imperial military, but in the video, I do go on to explain that systems armies could contain up to 3 armies and sector armies contained multiple systems armies depending on the size of the sector, and there are at least a thousand sectors under Imperial control. One also must remember that planets with the populations of say Corusant, get increasingly rare as you travel outward from the Core Worlds, and it's not too uncommon to see some worlds out on the Outer Rim with dinky populations under a million.

There are more casualties in the Vietnam war than there are soldiers in the first batch of Kaminoan clones. That's absurd and the explanation is obviously that the authors did not have even a remote military background.
Realistically speaking you can't invade a planet, albeit a very underpopulated one and yet that's a common trope in Science Fiction. Of course we usually dismiss it by inventing some ad hoc justification for our suspension of disbelief, and that's fine.

The disneyverse tried to retcon these absurd number by saying that Lama Su, when referring to "units", was not talking about single clones but regiment-size formations...
For the Imperial part we have Palpy stating that Endor was defended by a whole legion... While in the meantime the Imperial Handbook was stating that a Legion was roughly the size of ancient Rome ones (around 10.000 strong).

The Imperial Army is responsible for garrisoning Imperial planets, and we never see any of these garrisoned worlds in the original trilogy.
All instances with Stormtroopers (and their variants) in the OT:
      A New Hope:
Tantive IV ---> Troops deployed from ship
Tatooine ---> Troops deployed from ship
Death Star ---> Well the Death Star is a kind of ship. Its think its part of the Imperial Navy
      Empire Strikes Back:
Hoth ---> Troops deployed from ship
Cloud City ---> Troops deployed from ship
Return of the Jedi is the only film where it might make more sense to have the Imperial Army instead of the Stormtrooper Corps. However since the Endor garrison and shield generator bunker exists to protect, maintain, and operate the shield for the Death Star, it would make sense that the garrison there is under the purview of the Imperial Navy and so naturally the only troops we see on Endor are Navy troopers and Stormtroopers.

Also a Big Factor rebels are fast WE only See Battles that have Imperials Chase after them or attacking very high Profile areas. The Thing the Moment the imperial Army IS deployed the Rebels are gone, the branch that WE See IS their armored Department Walkers etc this IS Army stuff
