I'm actually working on creating a detailed timeline running through every piece of media that takes place in this one year (and four days) timespan and organizing every event chronologically! It's interesting how impactful small details can be in the specific order of things (Wedge Antilles just about broke apart the whole thing because of his leg)
Hated how the end of the galactic Civil War ended in a year. Even though the emperor died, the imperial war machine was still very large and cumbersome it would’ve taken years to bring about a defeat even if the empire fractured into warlords and broke up into seceding territories the Empire at its height had 25,000 star destroyers and countless other types of support craft. Defeating it in a year would be impossible since the rebellion had so few ships. It took a mauling after Endor and the empire still could’ve beaten the rebel Fleet, even if the death star was destroyed the only thing that stopped the empire from finishing off the rebel fleet was the fact the officers were too busy fighting amongst themselves
maybe 2, since the rebels lack industrial military complex but once it fracture into warlords then it come about taxation and some warlords would cut of form empire industrial military complex. it hard to get taxes form unwilling population that want you gone. also warlord of poor sector will see there fleet fall into disrepair in years time. the rebels on other hand will be gain resources and territory at rapid pace. In few mouth they would have massive fleet of fighters to take out sector fleets. fighters can be mass produce on assembly lines because they were smaller.
@ more like a few years to build up a fleet to match the empire even with all the smaller pocket empires that sprung up with all the warlordism. Of course some warlords would probably fight and kill each other making the rebels job easier but the imperial war machine is still formidable since it has been around for nearly a quarter of a century it will not go down without a fight.
I prefer the Legends fall of the Galactic Empire, especially after the fuckery of what led up to The Rise of Skywalker. I mean, atleast in Legends much of the Factions created after the fall made sense within Universe and there was no new faction with infinite resources without reason (First Order).
Some of the artwork is bloody tragic man. Seeing them 2 stormtroopers simply embracing like that after what looks to be a massacre is just moving. Makes me wonder if they'll ever make a standalone series about the new republic.
"Spreading Rebel Lies", so basically the Star Wars equivalent of what people in the real world call the kind of information that stormtroopers shoot out X3
I just hope Disney doesn’t mess up the whole thing they got going with Thrawn right now looks okay but who really knows it’s Disney by the way can’t wait for the Theory wave stream tonight it’s going to be awesome
This is very interesting. We learned something new. Nice historic events and timeline. Thanks for this😊There's no fixing Empire remnants😀Battle of Jakku is my favorite😀Have a great day too
There’s such a major hole in the new Republic Lore as everything we’ve seen so far from the D+ shows just raises the question, where is Luke, Han and Leia? How do we get these scene of the new Republic council without Leia or all this activity of the remnant without Luke being more involved. It’s like they don’t exists and it’s only Dave Feloni’s characters from Clone Wars and Rebel’s looking after the Galaxy. It’s just not right. I miss George’s Star Wars.
I mean I'm their defense, it's hard to show them being "younger" in shows of them being old or dead (Leia). Unless you're going to do a lot of CGI for the show; which is not really practical long term. Now Han being a bit older would still work for the time around that the mandalorian takes place
@@markcashion5039 You make a good point. I personally would prefer them recast. It makes the most sense. It's time. I wouldn't even mind if they brought back Alden Ehrenreich and Donald Glover from Solo. They did alright. This deep fake technology just isn't sustainable and I hope we move away from it going forward.
Hey Stupendous love your videos man keep it up, could you some day make a video about Ganner Rhysode and his absolutely amazing last stand in Traitor? May the Force be with you
Lack of food generally leads to revolt; good to see the Empire was at least consistent in their stupidity sans Palpatine (not that he was much smarter).... Obtaining power requires a completely different skill set than wielding power -- and having one doesn't guarantee you'll be proficient in the other.
I'll give the new Canon props for actually concluding the Galactic Civil War a year after the Battle of Endor versus how it took another 15 years for the Galactic Civil War to end in Legends. The way the new Canon handled it, it made the Battle of Endor feel more impactful.
The long and drawn out battle made MUCH more sense. The rebellion was large, but not large enough to mop up the absolute massive imperial military in a year. It would have been a much more drawn out battle...
The Warlord era in legends make far more sense. The Empire was a massive galactic government with an enormous military. The films imply the majority of the Rebel Fleet was at Endor, enough to destroy a Death Star under construction and strike a symbolic blow in maybe killing Palpatine but absolutely in no state to re-conquer the galaxy in 1 year. Its absurd. Things like Operation Cinder are also beyond stupid and make no sense for Imperials to do. Ambitious commanders are not going to burn resources to satisfy the whims of a dead Emperor. Disney put zero thought in
@@phoenixrising4573 yes they were small but dont forget the empire was designed to fall when Palpatine died, between Operation Cynder and the way that only imcompetent officials or power hungry ones were left while most capable ones where either killed or left in useless assigments
15 years are you sure about that? I read ALL the expanded universe novels from Truce at Bakura up to half way through the Yuzhan Vong story and the Timothy Zahn trilogy with Thrawn start off 5 years after the end of ROTJ and the New Republic has had control of Coruscant for at least 2 years at that point and the Empire has been shoved off into a corner of the galaxy called the Imperial Remnant from which Thrawn comes out of the shadows. The Thrawn trilogy is what finishes off the Empire for whatever real threat it might be. I put the real end of the civil war about 6-7 years after ROTJ.
Would say legends and canon could have done better. Canon events are unrealistic because 1 year to replace the second largest empire (Infinite Empire = 1) is not logical when under 10 percent of the fleet was at Endor. Legends is better but not perfect, it’s too long
if they make thrawn anything like he was in legends he will either suceed or get extremly close to winning. the only reason he lost was that he was assasinated by his own bodyguard when they learned about the empires betrail. he WAS winning the last battle and the republic was about to loose their last substantial fleet that had the majority of their remaining ships when it happend.
When a government is held together by force, the people who exercise that force will often take advantage of a power vacuum to seize power for themselves. Just look at human history, and you'll see numerous examples.
Mr wave, can you do a video about how the sith viewed strong force users who were not jedi or sith? could someone who was a strong force user and who isn't evil but neutral and able to sell services as a mercenary or bounty hunter ?
I'm just going to go ahead and say anything that was created to go along with Disney's narrative is not canon. For me the civil war was basically ended with the end of Timothy Zahns Thrawn Trilogy as he lead the IMPERIAL REMNANT to try and retake Coruscant and is defeated by the end, and thats 5 years or a tad more after ROTJ. After that point in the EU timeline the Remnant doesn't come to play very much.
Thrawn, heir to the empire: what was first just a dream has become a frightening reality, for those who may oppose us Also thrawn: but... It was artistically done...
Disney cannon after the Battle of Endor is terrible. Nine if it makes sense. Plus all roads lead to the sequels so the whole story is tainted. If Disney were smart they would use this new Thrawn story they are developing to lead to new 7, 8 and 9. Then they could actually have a plan with a story that makes sense.
How to speak for everyone at this moment when I say that nobody wants to talk about how The empire started or ended. They want to know about the empire.

You're just going to sit back and let others actually do the "creative work" and you, as "the voice of the community" will lurk in the comments and criticise all that they create, you coward!!
The Battle Of Jakku was an absolute massacre. The Imperials had absolutely no chance at that point.
"Not impressive!!" 🤣
You know that in the ROTJ victory scene on Coruscant, you can see the crowds tossing around a poor stormtrooper.
Oh no! "Stormtrooper Salad!!" 🤣
I didn't even notice that was happening until a few years later.
If he was living on the surface of Coruscant, he was anything but poor.
@@liamthompson8563 so either coruscant fell immediately after the 2nd DS or it was a year later? I'm so confused.

"Somehow a rock was in coruscant"
In reality it would likely be part of the broken statue. Cities made of rock and metal tend to chip off those things sometimes
Just watched the Theory Wave podcast. Love your vulnerability when talking about relationships. You were heard bro.

How can you get a rock in Coruscant?
Well we all know that the events in ashoka are after return of the jedi but you all know the empire doesnt ever come back because of the first order😅

Now that Deadpool and Wolverine have brought the blood, maybe just maybe in a galaxy far away, we will get a proper Star Wars film. We must find it!!
Why couldn't this have been the story line in Starwars VII, VIII, and IX? Instead of the BS non-sinical Disney crap that we got?
Disney's fake canon is so boring it makes golf exciting.
