Absolutely love this band and this new album 😍 I had a similar experience working at McDonald's when I was 17 in 2000. The McDonald's was robbed that night. The person who was robbing the McDonald's followed me into the bathroom, as I was washing my hands he asked me if I had a smoke, so I gave him one. Then he told me to stay in the bathroom and not leave it. Well about 5mins passed and I decided to see if I could leave, but he happened to be sitting at a table where he could see the bathroom and saw me trying to leave. He got up and forced me back into the bathroom and told me he had a gun and that he would kill me. It was crazy. Thankfully another co worker came in and the dude starts asking the other co worker about the cash register and money etc. They both left the bathroom and when I could, I ran across the street to a local Kroger to call the cops. It was a crazy night for sure.
my dad played you guys all throughout my youth. Fuckin love what you've done. Went to a concert years a go and it was surreal. I'll never forget the bubble you used to go into the crowd with hahah
I would love to just have a big Sunday dinner with Wayne and the band and just sit there and eat, drink and tell stories. I'm really glad his story didn't end that night, the world would be a much darker place without you sir
One time at a flaming lips concert, Silopanna in Maryland, with the lights and characters and everything, one girl in the front was having a reaction. Wayne stopped the show until the girl was helped. Then he finished the show in typical flaming lips fashion. I've never seen that happen! :-)
The way this absolutely incredible song ends abruptly … analogous to a kind of death.... it disturbs me not necessarily bad.. just...emotionally. Deeply. The summer this song was released, a month before it was released, my dear friend Tim unexpectedly died in a motorcycle accident. When I heard this song - that came through and I felt it. Especially times I was driving on the stretch of road it happened. Just profound.
If you haven't seen the documentary The Fearless Freaks, I highly recommend it. He goes back to the actual restaurant (now a Vietnamese restaurant) to recreate the incident.
@@joefineman648 I saw them in Ashville in 2017, and in Columbus in 2018. I hope they tour again. But this virus situation has killed entertainment man.
Master Blue Wolf Master Blue Wolf Ah very cool. Would have loved to have seen them myself but their peak was way before my time and I’m from the U.K. so unsure if they’ll ever come over here again. Favourite live set I’ve ever seen from any band is the Chicago gig they did.
I was robbed at a post office. The guy came in and stuck a knife in my face...and well, robbed me. And, he wasn't caught. Had PTSD for a long time after that. Edit...I was learning Karate at the time and my thoughts were to jump over the counter and attack him...but I didn't.
I hear ya man. My experience is something I'll never forget. And to this day when I go into a public bathroom I'm always looking behind my back. Freaks me out. And that was 20 years ago.
I was once robbed at gunpoint in East Tulsa for 5$ and my cellphone battery. I wasn't afraid at all, just laughed because I couldn't believe it was happening. Dude let me keep my phone, but he took the battery so I couldn't call the cops. I had warrants, so i wasn't calling the police.
These should be a regular feature on the channel.
He's that cool uncle everybody want.
Admit that.

Wayne is so upfront and honest about his life! That’s the essence of the Flaming Lips! 😶

I just realised that I'm not worried about anything anymore
@Ryan Smith Thank you. Stay well and safe Brother x
I'm terrified of fear itself. Apparently that's the only thing to be afraid of.
@@sydbarrett5 you mean fear of death?
Little moments that change our lives forever and our perspective of life. I completely understand him.
God Damn I love this Band soooooooo FUKKIN much!!!!!!!!!!

God I love Wayne. Appreciation from Scotland 🏴
Solid eye contact.. reminds me of me
Wow. Just listening to this story made my heart pound.

Lightning strikes the frontman, in his head
Thank you very much for sharing...🙏
I gotta see you guys live. I have seen my favorite band Ween twice. And I gotta see Primus live too. :3
Ahhh shiet, I’m jealous. What years did you see Ween?

Tells you everything you need to know about him that he could turn getting robbed at gunpoint into a transcendent experience and a beautiful song.
This just blows me away, love the lips
Love you, Wayne Coyne.
An Excellent album! 😊
You have to come to South Africa one day, it would be awesome!
Love flaming lips, from Nepal
Nepal, who has the most original flag, and which happens to be my favourite flag. 😊
Thank you Dixxy , yes one and only rectangular flagged country, keep loving flaming lips, keep loving Nepal
@@KtmLama I will, both .

poor guy, had to lie on the gross floor of long john silvers.
Lmaoo!
What if Wayne is lucid dreaming and we're all just part of his extended dream universe.
You think like me in panic. What are all the possibilities.
💕☀️
Just 5 minutes ago it was a normal world. Thanks a lot, corona.
Wow I'm me
Yeah you are
Wayne and Steve should do the Joe Rogan Podcast.
That would be a great and probably long episode.
Wish I could get away with hair like that.
Put a good suit on and you can do anything
Im bold
You guys will all be sorry when you rejected Jesus
Shame on you all
