Thanks to Amy for reintroducing R+B, soul, jazz and blues to the music scene. It was missed greatly. Listen to Amy's Jools Holland performance of STRONG ENOUGH. It's early in her career and is absolutely amazing.
Amy really hat that R&B and Soul in every single cell of her body. And that is so much more than just the vocal technics and learning the "correct phrasing" for that kind of songs. Something I have trouble with, with so many of these modern R&B, Soul and Pop singers. Don't get me wrong, they have amazing technics and beautiful voices, but for me, it's often too much about the technics and not enough about "feeling" the song. Kinda too perfect, but the heart and soul seems "learned and faked" instead of "felt". That what made Amy outstanding for me, she was up there with the best like Janis Joplin, Nina Simon etc..
