I feel robbed! She is right up there with the all times bests for me too.. in fact.. I'd say she is my number one as well. It hurts my heart so bad that she was taken from this world way too young. One of Uk’s finest vocalist right there. One of the last greats in a long line of jazz/ Blues singers.
Even though she was jazz rooted, she loved Hiphop and other genres.. her musicality was a hybrid of old school ska reggae as well.. you can hear it at the end of some of her runs and Tonality.. you guys need to check out some of her ska reggae mixes..that genre fitted her Voice like a glove.

I remember when me and my grandmother saw Amy Winehouse walking down Camden with all paparazzi following her. I will never forget the days of Amy Winehouse. The days of me going to school and “rehab” had just been released and everyone singing it in school. The house where she died is a 5 minute walk down the road from me. I walk past there on a daily basis to pay my respects. There’s a tree outside her house where all fans will pay their respects and put Amy art and memorabilia on the tree. It’s called the Amy tree. I don’t think I will ever get over her dying. Don’t think I will see another legend on the stage like her in my life time again.

They went through all the songs and he discussed what they meant to him. At the end he was asked if he could only have one what would it be. He said it would have to be Amy Winehouse's Love Is A Losing Game. He absolutely loved her. He really wanted to do a duet with her but was to afraid to ask her. Now they are both gone and it is hard to accept. Both are amazing talented individuals. Would you do me a favor and react to George Michael singing A Different Corner on the Parkinson show. The living embodiment of Joni Mitchell’s line, “strung out on another man.” They’re the best jazz-pop female artists of the last 60 years and both were vocal wizards AND creative songwriters who bared EVERYTHING in their songs. She was already dead when I heard her the first time, stupid stupid me. What kills me about this, probably my second favorite of hers (“You Know I’m No Good” is the other), is that she’s literally like, checking her cuticles while she sings this in an office. WTF? A coroner's inquest reached a verdict of misadventure. The report released on 26 October 2011 explained that Winehouse's blood alcohol content was 416 mg per 100 ml (0.416%) at the time of her death, more than five times the legal drink-drive limit.[227] According to the coroner, the "unintended consequence" of so much drink was her "sudden and unexpected death"… On 17 December 2012, British authorities reopened the probe into Winehouse's death.[268] On 8 January 2013, a second inquest confirmed that Winehouse died of an accidental alcohol overdose.[269] In a June 2013 interview, Alex Winehouse revealed his belief that his sister's eating disorder, and the consequent physical weakness, was the primary cause of her death:
She suffered from bulimia very badly. That's not, like, a revelation - you knew just by looking at her... She would have died eventually, the way she was going, but what really killed her was the bulimia... I think that it left her weaker and more susceptible. Had she not had an eating disorder, she would have been physically stronger!

There was a video of her at a train station sitting on the dirty ground in her shorts or a short dress, pretty strung out; and a young girl approached her and said how much she loved her, and Amy pretty much dropped everything and gave her alot of attention and she was so honored and humbled... The irony is that the slick production that gave her classic album, Back to Black it's vintage feel, also ironed out some of the tiny vocal inflections that made her voice truly great. They really should have recorded the vocal in old-fashioned analogue. What makes this live acoustic version so precious is that you can hear all of the minutiae. Comparisons to the likes of Nina Simone are perfectly valid, imo.

Amy Winehouse..let's put her talent to one side..this country's press (UK) reported every vile sh*t they could about this lady..they followed her..click after click..the story of her is well known..when u are so so talented.. people jump on...and Amy became a cash cow for people..I do honestly feel so emotional about this..in the UK u could see this beautiful person was just in great need of help..but helping someone..in this country doesn't sell papers.. shame on u all..every last one of u...if u don't understand what I am talking about..look it up .she just needed help..and this genius would be still here today.. writing and singing brilliant music.. great reaction guys.x

Amy is another member of the 27 club. Fellow inductees: Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Kurt Cobain welcomed her to Rock & Roll heaven.

Nobody is the same as her, with that stunning voice and the raw emotion, but react to Angelina Jordan doing the song. She does it justice for sure and remains true to Amy.

I love the original from The Zutons and then there’s Amy’s version to give it an extra dimension.
I’m surprised that so many people think Amy’s version is the original.
It’s The Zutons for me 100%

Love this song. I'm listening to music 60 plus years prefer 60s and 80s music but she is one of the very few I dig. Tragically so young to have lost her. God bless, RIP AMY.

Am I the only one that thinks an African American soul singer reincarnated into Amy Winehouse' body? A unique gifted angel. So sad that Fame and drugs and money destroy the spirit of talented special people 🙏 loved your genuine reaction 💕

Glad you love Amy too, do you know the video to Back to Black, released with the single ? It's stunning in black and white and illustrates, for me anyway, her vibe, her community as well as a stunning artistic reflection of the song
