    It's so beautiful and pure, without massive studio enhancement. The guitarist did a great job, too, carrying the tune while keeping keenly aware of Amy's tempo changes.

      Bullshit, music was just as superficial back then as is it now. There are probably tons of just as good singers out there, you have just not heard them.
      Just like there were tons of great singers you didn't hear back then.

    Her voice is like a knife through the heart. Unbelievable.
    It seems like a lot of the truly great ones do a deal with the devil and leave us early.

    Playing with her hair, finger nails and the like is a sign of heightened mood and probably it helps her maintain focus. Brilliant singer and a lovely kind person.

      This song makes me sad, because this lady had so much potential and was only on this earth for a short time. Unfortunately, you can see she is on something which is why she is constantly fidgeting.

    She had such crazy strength in her voice. Reminds me of Layne Staley in the sense that even when they weren't doing well health wise, they could belt out with such ease. Such natural singers.

    She does a version of this song live with a big band and you can tell as she stumbles onto the stage she is completely hammered and yet damn if it's not an ever so better vocal than this. Such a relaxed delivery, no strain at all as she hits the notes, singing is as easy to her as speaking is to the rest of us.

      I feel exactly the same, it's a relief in some respect when the camera operator zooms in but to still be able to give this level of rendition is testimony to her amazing talent. Sadly, I appreciate her more now than I did when she was alive when her and/or Pete Doherty would seemingly be splashed across the tabloids every day.

    During her short career she recorded hundreds of songs. You need to look her up and listen to more of her work. She crossed genres with ease and worked with other amazing artists to create an unequaled catalog of music.

    Those that have joined the 27 club : Amy, Jimi, Jim, Joplin, etc, when alive, their talent seemed to burn with a brightness akin to an acetylene torch. An almost ferocious light that burnt very quickly and powerfully.

    I've been around a long time (65 yrs.) Seen (heard) most everyone, but this right here never fails to give me chills..It physical aches me to know she is gone. When she was going through all she was going through, I wanted to scream to the world..SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP THIS LADY, OR SHE WILL BE GONE!..And then she was.

      I have a friend the used to call Amy Winehouse. Yes, for the exact same reasons, except she couldn't sing. But she was / is so much like her. The great news is I just saw her on FB AND she messaged me showing she's doing amazingly well. I'm so happy for her. Her body, her speaking voice, her mannerisms, her hair, so much like Amy. So yes, I feared for her well-being and remained her voice of optimism, hope, and love. Love you, Kelli. Keep it going. You're amazing. RIP, Amy.

    I was actually showing my buddy this performance as well as a couple of her acoustic performances yesterday during lunch. She was such an amazing artist and she makes it look so effortless. You should check out her acoustic performances for "Love Is A Losing Game" it always gives me chills just hearing the emotion sings with.

    You both emerse yourself in the music you listen to, catch the details and nuances. Very cool. Her video to rehab is something else. Not until I saw the video several times and realized how painful that song is despite its funky sound and more upbeat tempo.

    My girlfriend & I saw attended her show during SXSW, a year before she hit it big. There were only about 250 people in the (two level,) building. I could have reached out and touched her at any time during her performance with the Dap Kings backing her up. My Girlfriend actually met her and talked to her in the bathroom at length before the show.
    One of my best Austin, TX music experiences. I've had so many - but this one is a standout.

    Lex, you should check out some Bonnie Raitt. (She was the one in the audience waving her hands and pointing during Heart's performance of Stairway to Heaven) She's got that cool, raspy voice. Maybe start off with "Love Sneakin' Up on You", "Something to Talk About" or "I Can't Make You Love Me". She's also one of the greatest slide guitarists there is.
