at first, they gave us YOU CAN'T QUIT ME, BABY and I thought that was it: this is their masterpiece. then, I THINK I LOST MY HEADACHE came along and it's been holding the record for all these years. but now, we have STRAIGHT JACKET FITTING perfect for the job.
Can we talk about how the middle 8 sounds like it's emulating the Doors' Roadhouse Blues. Hommes vocals and lyrics are absolutely THRIVING during that part, followed by the bridge with the demon lyrics? Classic Homme play on words with the lyrics there. "To seize all your demons, carpe demon". Amazing outro to the record, followed by that acoustic outro??? Gave me those Zeppelin-esque vibes they were emulating a bit with the acoustic stuff in Rated R/Songs for the Deaf, as well as flashbacks of Kyuss. Soaking in this album over the weekend, been a great ride so far

I agree with you there, he’s one of the best songwriters ever. I’d seriously put him up there with the likes of Roger Waters, Page+Plant, Thom Yorke, Bono, Prince, Lennon+McCartney. He’s THAT GOOD!!!

Just extraordinary. Such a strange section to incorporate into a song but thats why Queens are on another level. So consistently brilliant despite throwing some of the most "out there" and experimental stuff into their music.

3:48 - 4:28 The abrupt transition into this part is eerie and cool as fuck haha. That string sample used in the, “Glory To Rome!”, video made me so curious of how it would be executed on the song it’s from, and this shit gave me goosebumps, to say the least.
You know why it's earring If you look @ the character in this video it has this end of the world look & vibe & sound @ 4:49 I'm not sure if you live in LA but if you gone down Ventura street or Lankershim street if ever do it give this creepy scary but cool vide, for some reason I character I feel like it's from a Renaissance movie or a person on the street for years & gave up on living properly and started wearing any old thing, I've seen some people that gives them self that scary crazy look or like the guy in the movie Lost highway the dumpster scene where this guy popped out behind from this dumpster you're really scary scene and the build up to it, even the sound that's part of the song has it's strange peculiar Renaissance plus I've heard Josh homme talking about Renaissance stuff, but also it has like this lost and scared look to it

He kind of did this in Vultures, but the writing and instrumentals were good enough to pull it off. I don't like how these songs aren't hitting from start to finish. It's a sign of someone sorely needing an editor, like the last 3 Scorcese movies sucked but would have been great if they chopped a third of what he left in. Some people don't keep people around that will be honest with them... If they cut 2:30 - 3:28 from this track, it'd be a lot better.

For the first time in my life, I'm independent and free. This album came just in time. The name "Straight Jacket Fitting" is a very good representation of what my life used to be like.

I saw a reddit post earlier that a woman posted saying there was only 1 woman to every 5 men at the record release party. Which makes sense. Queens is definitely an acquired taste
This is what i was doing when this song released on youtube in june 2023. It gave a feel to that summer that reminded me of being old in the 1980s. We were a skin-tight outfit, real go-getters as postman Tabellarius often said, typically passing us on the main street sideway. Real go getters is one way of putting it I guess... heheheheh.

@@Natef89 it's cringe inserted between a pretty good song, and it kind of drags even if you don't mind the lyrics and singing tone. He kind of did this in Vultures, but the writing and instrumentals were good enough to pull it off. I don't like how these songs aren't hitting from start to finish. It's a sign of someone sorely needing an editor, like the last 3 Scorcese movies sucked but would have been great if they chopped a third of what he left in. Some people don't keep people around that will be honest with them... If they cut 2:30 - 3:28 from this track, it'd be a lot better.

So underrated as a whole with society. They don't make that normal cookie cutter rock and roll. Which is what I love about them. I saw a reddit post earlier that a woman posted saying there was only 1 woman to every 5 men at the record release party. Which makes sense. Queens is definitely an acquired taste

This is what i was doing when this song released on youtube in june 2023. It gave a feel to that summer that reminded me of being old in the 1980s. We were a skin-tight outfit, real go-getters as postman Tabellarius often said, typically passing us on the main street sideway. Real go getters is one way of putting it I guess... heheheheh.
