    It's great to see a video about Indonesian railways considering how close they are to us.

    Just to mention about the flatness of the seat in 6:50, it seems like you need a certain trick that I know if you want the seat to be completely flat 180° you must move the seat forward a little use slide seat button so that the backrest of the seat is not stuck to the table panel behind you. That's what crossed my mind. There should be an instruction sticker of several convortable positions on the front wall of the passenger seat which can make it easier for passengers to follow the method. Thanks to make video like this to shown Indonesian Intercity Train services.

    Nice cabin, like it, nice view out the window and you can feel the genuineness of the train attendants....... A bag of crystal meth 🤣......... That lunch reminds me of what you get in Sydney food halls. $20, bland, and the portions is about the same.

      I would have ripped on the food more, but Indonesian food is just like that, so it has to be put into perspective. The portions are always this size, they don’t over eat like we do 🤣 and also I did order the western food, which isn’t their specialty. It tasted good, so that’s what matters.

    Mount Semeru is the tallest mountain in Java, not all of Indonesia. As for regular (non-HSR) train services in Java, they’re still running on the old 1,067 mm (3 ft 6 in) cape gauge tracks from way back in the Japanese occupation days. So, no matter how flash the train cars are, the ride’s always going to be a bit rattly. Over in Sulawesi, the newer railway uses the 1,435 mm (4 ft 8½ in) standard gauge, but it’s just a short stretch of track at the moment.
    Dunno if they’ll ever bother converting the cape gauge to standard gauge, but honestly, I reckon they should focus on expanding train services across Indonesia first. Right now, Java’s the only island with decent coverage, with just a few random lines in Sumatra and a tiny one in Sulawesi. I’m from Borneo, a massive island that could really do with some proper train services.
    Hope you had a ripper time in Indonesia. Cheers, mate! 🍻

      Well, it's a shame Java are not standard gauge.
      But I agree with you, Indonesia would be better off focusing on building new rails rather than upgrading the existing ones.

    The first section of the train you entered is an executive class, KAI doesn't really uses the business class anymore, it's only server in less than 5 train now

    • @JoshGoesSlow
      @JoshGoesSlow  15 дней назад

      It’s a little confusing to be honest, I said executive at first but then saw on the Kai website this seat style is business, then on other websites they all said different things. In the end I changed what I said to business as that’s what KAI had.

      Dude, I am smiling, I had been awake for hours, I had taken 3 trips in 3 days and had little to no sleep. I’m barely awake. After this I went straight to the airport and flew back to Jakarta it was a 20 hour video.
