Thank you for this. I would like to add something to help others, as I still had a hard time getting the A-Pillar cover off to wire a dashcam to the OBD2 port. First, get some good plastic panel removal tools. After popping everything out, you'll notice that the corner by the windshield is stuck in there pretty tight and the last clip won't release. Open the fuse panel cover. And also remove the short trim piece adjacent to the fuse panel cover, as it overlaps the A-pillar cover a lot. 2 clips, pops out easily. Regarding the nylon mount, to be clear, it does not come out from the metal of the Cayenne. It also does not twist in place. You must have some very long needle nose pliers, a fork or some strong long tweezers to actually twist the plastic 90 degrees and slide it out like Terence showed. Only after removing the nylon clip can you start to maneuver the entire trim piece out of the corner of the windshield. It takes some wiggling. The wire must not cross the airbag, so run it from headliner and under where the video shows the wiring clips are. I also ran the wire under the 2 electrical tape type of wraps near the top of the airbag and ran it alongside behind the whole channel of other OEM wires.
Very helpful. One thing I would say is that you would need very long, long nosed pliers to turn that clip, that I didn’t have. I used a cutlery fork that had very close prongs.
Thanks for this vide and all the comments! Very helpful. I have to try this. One question please: I read somewhere that this nylon v clip is not reusable after once rotating? Is that true? Can the trim be fixed properly by re-using the clips with no issues? Or do I have to get a new clip first before starting the procedure? The video also shows Terence is having a new clip installed in metal body and another (old one) in the trim itself. Do advise please...
pry out from the socket the top of the clip with a screw driver while being careful not to break the long piece that extends into the housing on the trim side. you then push the clip back in place on top of this housing connected to the trim. you can push the top of the clip back in place when reinstalling the trim. even if the piece breaks that extends into the housing ,the clip can still be pushed back in place there so the trim stays flush after reinstalling it. i think this will let the trim fly free with airbag deployment however.
The nylon hook won't be damaged if it is rotated 90 degree only due to its flexibility of the material. Replace one is surely the best for perfectionists.
Because if it is not shown like this. The gap between the A-pillar and the A-pillar trim is too narrow for filming and explaining the internal construction clearly

Once you rotate the nose of the plastic clip it is pretty much junk at that point so replace it

So since you didn't show how to remove the A-piller (you had already detached it) then why is the subject of your video "How to remove A-piller trim"?
