Would you buy a Porsche? Why or why not? Have to say I was surprised to see those carpeted liners falling apart like that, but otherwise they’re a well built vehicle. Have a great weekend everyone!!
I know who's not going to get a Porsche - that bum Mike! Even with me co-signing his credit score was only 301 and the dealership laughed until we left. 😭
I get anxious to drive a brand Porsche to the DG shop. It is less nasty. I walk away from the shop. Mitch cleans the vacuum and notices inside a small note, “Just for you!” on the mat.

I have a 2016 S e-Hybrid. Liners on mine look brand new still. BTW, that car is a base platinum with the logo of an S e-Hybrid (acid green trim). Not an S either as the calipers are the base color and the exhaust tips are not correct. My guess is this car has had a bit of a rough life (maybe hit in the rear, and who knows what done to the liners).
About the carpeted wheel wells, I think the owner might have done something crazy to them. My 2017 Cayenne has over 70k miles and my wheel wells are still like new. 👍🏻 Oh, and I’ve asked my husband for a, “Detail Geek,” gift basket for Mother’s Day. 😂 I am so addicted to this channel!!💓
Agreed. I’ve had Porsches with more mileage than that one and I live here in Calgary. No damage to the wheel wells whatsoever. Something odd going on there…
And probably the rear hatch replaced. Reason I say that is that this is a base platinum not an S. I’m it has the badge of an e-Hybrid with the acid green outline. Plus no green calipers for S e-hybrid (or red for S), and base exhaust tips (not the 4 round like the S). So definitely has some history to this car.
I own a Porsche Cayanne S Platinum E-hybrid and there are a few things that are off about this car you worked on. Its a mix and match of things.... That being said, I LOVE my car and will keep buying them.
Love hearing your comments on the quality of the higher end cars. I have a 2006 Cayenne, and it does not have any form of carpet in the wheel wells. And after watching this video, glad it doesn't. Coincidentally, my car is at the dealer for service and they gave me a 2023 Cayenne loaner and I just checked, it doesn't have "carpet" but some type of thin felt like material. My Cayenne has black interior and I have a German Shepherd. Your recommendation for the Lily brush has made my life and car interior so much better!
Mitch, thanks for the leader cleaning tip. My next purchase on Detail Geek care is going to be the Leader Clean and conditioner. The Cayenne came out really good.

Thanks for your videos! I'm starting to think my detailer might fall in love with me at some point. I take good care of my car and only get it detailed for the deep clean and paint protection. My wife's car, however... The dirtiest empty nester vehicle I've ever seen.
Great video yet again, really surprised by some of the lack of quality in the materials used on a premium model like this but what can you do that seems to be modern times. Was just wondering how many cars you clean in an average week, is like one a day or do some vehicles take longer. Keep up with the quality content
Man U did another good job…I’m from the south so our winters ain’t nothin like that I bet it sucks when u get one that clean and have to go drive back on the snow soon as u leave…keep it up fella
Unless this is just snow and ice packing in those wheel wells and tearing everything up, there's really no excuse, they just used a poor vendor for those liners. Manufacturers go through periods where similar issues will often affect a number of their models--one of the most infamous was the biodegradable wiring(!) from Mercedes 20 years ago. As an owner of 2002 and 2009 Porsches with quite a few more miles than this one, I've had no issues with wheel wells. In fact, I've been amazed by the quality of the cars on the whole and the underside and corrosion resistance specifically. The notorious issues of Porsches from my era, were the stupid soft-touch interior finish that begins to flake, and the foam in the vents that degrades and spits out in bits. IMS bearings affected that 2002 era, but not the 2009.
Definitely looks great but all that snow, ice and salt by the time they go two blocks down the st it's gonna be filthy again especially stepping in & out. Wait till Spring.
Very accurate detailing, well done Mitch i enjoyed every moment detailing and although that i kinda miss those old dirty trucks that you use to detail.
Those Canadian winters are the definition of hell for vehicles, bad for cars but great for you Mitch in more work and content for us. It must be so awesome to work on high end stuff.
