On your recommendation we use it and we like it. It smells nice and we don’t have blue stains. We usually need to change the cassette every couple of days so have had no problems. Take care Gill
We have found it excellent after using it for the past 4 months. We use it diluted in a spray for the bowl on their recommendation. We have had more issues with our Adamo recently so we have not used it since our last trip to Wales in June. The toilet needed a clean out before we traded ours in for a new Adamo. It was still fairly fresh only a slight whiff of ammonia. We will continue to use this excellent product in our new one.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo Low loaded back from St David’s on our Welsh trip! Hi Bob, here’s a Solbio update from us. We’ve used it for 2 years mainly on our seasonal pitch. We loved the ease of use and it only being one product. However this year I fitted a Thetford cassette extractor kit, which works really well. So I decided to try cheaper toilet fluid alternatives. Being bio washing liquid and Zoflora for the flush tank. We’ve been astonished how much “black bits” have been released from the system since using the Zoflora. We never experienced any issues with the flush pump, however either the tank was very contaminated or the pipe work. Just a heads up, you might want to give it a try to see what happens in your van. Cheers from John & Alison.
Hi again Bob, actually the point I was making was that we hadn’t had any visible signs of black bits. Over the 2 years we used Solbio. Black bits only appeared after we added Zoflora to the tank, and after about an hour of soak and the first flush, lots of black bits appeared. So I think I only found the issue after the Zoflora cleaned out the system. I think at some point in the future, we would have had an issue.
Hi Bob, we’ve bought the Solbio but haven’t used as yet, as trying to use up our other green fluid. So shall take onboard re the emptying more regularly. Thanks for sharing x
Don’t forget to follow the instructions about using it the first time - you need to get old stuff out of the tank that might stop it working properly. We didn’t read the instructions LOL. Now we wouldn’t use anything else, it’s great
Hi Bob , good informative video, in the video I noticed that you already had the emptying tube detached from the toilet, can I ask how do you do that and is it straight forward to reattach it , Many thanks, Martin
Turn the tube anti clockwise very nearly as far as it goes and there is a position where it will pull off. Check this video at 7.36 ruclips.net/video/I8l2YKcEpY4/видео.html
Hay well done Bob, a mention in August issue of cmc magazine! In Advert for solbio, expensive stuff but will give it a go at some point (personally i'm a big fan of camperlife 40 shot) and green elsan organic when needed. Well done on this months issue, keep up the great informative videos xx
Bob, I notice its always a bit of a battle to undo the cassette lid, heres an old cabinet makers trick for sticky drawers ( theres a joke in there somewhere) rub candle wax, bees wax or even childs crayon around the threads and anywhere the lid makes contact, this will in effect lubricate the threads but without the mess of oil or grease. This method works, give it a try.
Hi Bob. We find Solbio is great as long as you don’t use an antibacterial toilet cleaner that then washes into the tank. If you do this it seems to kill the natural bacteria in the Solbio. This begs the question, how do you clean the toilet bowl? Have you found a good solution to this?
Hello both, hope you are safe and well? Do you also use this solution in the flush? I have just ordered some today and my next job is cleaning the cassette. NICE!
Very well thank, I don't have a flush tank, but the website says, "Solbio prevents the formation of black particles and keeps your tank and toilet fresh and clean. Dose 40 ml of Solbio per 20 litres of tank capacity."
Yeah we have used it too just finished the second bag now . As you say it does keep everything clean we used it in our toilet cassette and flush tank but agree needs changing a bit more regularly than the chemical products .
Interesting Bob. I have been using Elsan Organic (green bottle) for 2 years and the two bottles cost £20. I have only been using Solbio for 2 weeks, but first impressions are; the smell is better but I haven't seen as much breakdown of the matter in the cassette as the Elsan. Elsan says 3 days or so to breakdown the matter and I agree with that. I have also used a squirt of Solbio in the sink in a newly emptied waste tank and that keeps it smelling nice. At £20, bought at NEC Feb, it is going to be a lot more expensive. Question is; what price to save the planet?!
Hi Bob, we recently started using the Solbio and although it initially smells nice. We find it’s only useful for number 1’s and needs changing every day if using for both. As it’s twice the price of the normal green stuff, I’m not sure it’s worth the extra expense. Love the channel 👍
I've been using a 'green' toilet additive for years simply because it gives greater me options for safe environmental disposal, but some do leave hard flaky deposits in the cassette. Solbio is much better in this respect but I'm not sure I like its rather 'medical' smell.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo seems to be more of a smell in the van,not a pleasant one either. It might be that I haven’t cleaned out the cassette well enough? Maybe some chemical residue has been left over & killed the Solbio bacteria? I’m persevering.(Deep clean when we get back)
I've not even got a motor home and i have watched and enjoyed this video, cheers Bob, keep the videos coming i love this channel.
Thank you
Thanks for the discount code Bob. I just bought 4 sachets 👍

Good grief, you must like the layout! Good luck with the new one.
Just spotted you in this month’s CAMC magazine endorsing this product 🤩
Fame at last!
We purchased 2 packs of Solbio at the NEC show this year. It’ll be the first time we’ve used it so will be interesting to see how we get on with it…
Let us know. Do make sure you clean the cassette throughly before using Solbio.

The silicon spray does help too

You can use a dilute solution of Solbio, it is just soaps and natural products, or a multi purpose cleaner that just wipes off.
ill look into trying it Bob good video
We use it and like it alot, but I would agree that it needs emptying every couple of days, which isn't a bad thing... 👍
Thanks for the honest review,do you still use it?
It was indeed surprisingly clean inside.

I suppose it would twice the price if you change it every day! We find two days is OK.
I think I’ll give it a try. Do you use anything in your grey water tank to keep it clean? Thanks always for an informative video.
I sometimes use a bit of tank fresh, but someone on here suggested using a squirt of Solbio down the sink.

Two days we'd say.

I went for Solbio as well. Biodegradeable does it for me. The blue stuff is apparently horrible for the environment. Cheers from Sweden.
