"I love you" is my favourite off this album. It represents what is wrong with Ireland right now. That we love this country but hate how it's run. This album as a whole though is a masterpiece!
The bass in tracks like I Love You, Skinty Fia and Bloomsday is truly phenomenal It's one thing to release 3 good albums, it's another to do something different every time and still put out absolute bangers
I get the feeling I'm old when I read this. Bass lines like these are old news. Nothing phenomenal about it. It's all been done before. It's okay now. But it was okay 40 years ago.
blown away by Nabokov on first listen. Transported in decades of rock, so much to unpack sonically yet so unique and such a solid end to a great album.
Musically ,lyrically, poetically, heroically, and above all artistically ,…this band can go anywhere they want to. I’m just glad I and many others have been on this ride since the beginning. The world is Fontaines DCs oyster
This album is one of the reasons why 2022 will be one of the best years in recent music history. Edit: Other Album releases that has me excited for this year are "Fear of the dawn" by Jack White, "Never let me go" by Placebo, "Alpha games" by Bloc Party, "A light for attracting attention" by The Smile, "The other side of make believe" by Interpol, "Beatopia" by Beabadoobee, "Life is yours" by Foals, "Raw Data Feel" by Everything everything, and "Songs from a lost world" by The Cure.
I love "Roman holiday" beyond words. I could listen to it for days in a row and never get tired. It gives me beat generation's vibes, bohemian life and freedom, a lot of freedom.
Isn't it gorgeous? That rolling melody, keening guitars, bubbling bass, delicate drums, and of course Grian's vocal. I love your comment, it chimes with me, as does the song. Any Fontaines fan who hasn't done so already should check out Whipping Boy's 'heartworm' album. A record for life.

After listening for a full week and so, can confirm every song on this album is necessary and will be appreciated for years to come. 20/10. AOTY contender for sure
When I listen to the music of Fontaines D.C.I can hear the voice and stories of James Joyce, Phil Lynott the greatest storytellers of all times, I hear George Bernard Shaw, Oscar Wilde, Samuel Beckett, yes I can also hear Oisin the greatest poet of all times
And some people dare to say that there’s no great bands anymore and that rock is dead, you honestly have to search for gems like this. This album is a pure masterpiece, all the songs on this record give me the absolute craziest goosebumps ever, so powerful. Album of the year.
March: Placebo "Never Let Me Go", April: Fontaines D. C. "Skinty Fia", May: The Smile "A Light For Attracting Attention". This spring music holiday lasts long 🎸👏
Just had me a full listen . True to form. Grian's words perfectly supported with a great musical soundtrack. You can help but feel it. It is very honest and personal and so real life. I'll call it cinema to our ears. Award worthy for sure. See u in Montreal May 2nd.
Guys, the new record is absolutely saturated with something that makes me feel like I never felt before. I'm absolutely mesmerised. You lads keep doin that with my mind since Dogrel, but that record is of a new quality. It got me so calm in very positive way. I really admire your work *EDIT: was on md while writing this, ha. I loved Hero’s Death and I didn’t know if they could top it but the sound has evolved while still having their distinct style. I’m loving everything they’ve released from this album. It gets better with every listen
Incredible how they end up here in the beginning of being Irish emigres. They’re a fascinating band, with one of those frontmen worthy of the frothy obsessions we have for him.
After first two albums I honestly didn't think it could get any better.....For me this record takes them to a whole new level .....up there with anything that has come before it ....
Every band should do this with the lyrics when they post an album. Then again I suppose there are plenty of bands who are more than little insecure about the quality of their lyrics, and with good reason.
For some reason The Smashing Pumpkins come to my mind listening to this album.. may be due to the guitar riffs... Love them. Takes my mind back in time. Nostalgia kicks in.
Thank you for putting your art out there , now having my first listen to this new work , l have your other two on vinyl , this will be with them shortly , payday is Tues , truth , honesty ,love and unity.

What a album. Lyrics and playing are top notch. This album will be remembered and held in high esteem for many many years.
Jackie down the Line is a musical masterpiece. The way it expresses themselves is incredible
blown away by Nabokov on first listen. Transported in decades of rock, so much to unpack sonically yet so unique and such a solid end to a great album.

Stone Roses + Joy Division + The Church = Fontaines D.C. ❤ this band reminds me of 90’s indie scene.
