Listening "Mother" for the first time was for sure one of the best experiences I had in 2017. The whole album was epic. The second album was even greater (Collossus being the best song I heard in 2018) Now.. to be completely honest.. I'm not even sure I deserve a third album haha (I haven't been that good of a boy, you know..) But please do come to South América. I had this dream this other night where I got to see you guys playing at this very traditional gig down at Rio de Janeiro (Circo Voador) ~ I woke up thinking: how is this not a memory I already have? haha

The energy in this makes me wanna burst through a brick wall head first. Fucking great album, deep and meaningful lyrics, impeccable attitude. Hurray for Idles!
While I do adore Joy As An Act of Resistance, I always find myself coming back to Brutalism more and more. It's a very cynical, very dark, very depressive album, and you can see why they went for a more triumphant and resilient tone with the second album, but I think this one shines through. The performances are so much more organic, the lyrics so much sharper and wittier, and it feels so genuine and dug in to the soul, rather than the sometimes cheesy platitudes you get on some songs on the second album )*cough* I'm scum *cough*). JAAAOR is a very important album, but this was the better one.
But no where have you mentioned that Brutalism reflects what each member had been through up to that point. Surely you can see that this has to be included in any comparison?
Dude, Daughters dropping YWGWYW blew my fucking mind. A decade of nothing and then a masterpiece.. IDLES are right up there with them. Their last 2 albums have been top notch.

A couple of alright ones and some of the most boring and bland things I have ever heard. My oldest child repeated to me something I said years ago. Namely, "If you like every track that a band has made they aren't trying hard enough". I stick by that. It's just pleasurable when they last a wee bit longer.
