52 here. Somehow I missed Idles in the past years (well, I had a baby five years ago that made me lost contact with what's new in music..). .. btw, now I am completely hooked. If I had listened to Brutalism when it came out, I think I would have felt "that feeling" too ...

Listening "Mother" for the first time was for sure one of the best experiences I had in 2017.
    The whole album was epic.
The second album was even greater (Collossus being the best song I heard in 2018)
Now.. to be completely honest.. I'm not even sure I deserve a third album haha
(I haven't been that good of a boy, you know..)
But please do come to South América.

@ everyone arguing over why White Privilege is censored: “‘White Privilege’ is about my first year of uni, and just taking loads of drugs and the people I was surrounded by, and just how ridiculous it all was, and what a waste of time and money it was for a lot of people. And I thought White Privilege would be a funny title as people were mostly white. We were white, and we were privileged, so I just thought I’d call it White Privilege. I know some people on the internet have been quite angry about that title, I think it is because they wanted something more to go with the shock factor of the title. But it’s not really about race; it’s about privilege in general.”

    • @elektrozil9728

How did the white people get their privs?

While I do adore Joy As An Act of Resistance, I always find myself coming back to Brutalism more and more. It's a very cynical, very dark, very depressive album, and you can see why they went for a more triumphant and resilient tone with the second album, but I think this one shines through. The performances are so much more organic, the lyrics so much sharper and wittier, and it feels so genuine and dug in to the soul, rather than the sometimes cheesy platitudes you get on some songs on the second album )*cough* I'm scum *cough*). JAAAOR is a very important album, but this was the better one.

Officially my favourite band of the moment. I just hope they last being fucking great for 5 or 6 albums rather than 2 or 3 as is usual for stuff I like.

@@roryghee9125 What's wrong with wanting a band to be great for a bit longer. My actual favourite band of all time and space did 4 great albums. A couple of alright ones and some of the most boring and bland things I have ever heard. My oldest child repeated to me something I said years ago. Namely, "If you like every track that a band has made they aren't trying hard enough". I stick by that. It's just pleasurable when they last a wee bit longer.

Reminds me of the times in Los Angeles when you paid $5 to see three bands to get your ass beat in the mosh pit. TSOL, Crass, Black Flag gigs were a black n blue event. Ahhh, when I was young 🙃 stage dives need a comeback 🙌🏾
