I might prefer the mixing in the kexp vids more but I think it probably takes more skill to mix those tiny desk performances. No idea how they do what they do with the acoustics in that room

Although it was with totally angry and heavy lyrics before, times are different now, and these guys are talking about the love, liberty and socially accepted communities, seeking for that justice, peace and love. Punk is not dead people... and it will never be!
If it wasn’t for his incredibly steady drumming, they wouldn’t be as good. It’s the rhythmic marriage between the lyrics and drumming that make the idles so good. At least that’s my opinion
They are actually writing songs for our generation and our time. The lyrics are so empowering against all of the shit we're going through. We've been misplacing anger in all the wrong places and IDLES seem to be directing it towards the right places. Something I can and will get behind.

Punk was never just about being anti-government, it was about being raw and unfiltered and honest. That's why Idles works.

I moved from Britain to Seattle last year and first heard IDLES on KEXP so I just wanna say THANK YOU KEXP for keeping me connected to amazing British bands and making me feel at home here whenever i turn on the radio.
I’m a year in to my experience with the Idles. I can’t imagine another one without them. Can’t wait to see them live. Bless honesty, and bless those that put it on display. The entire band represents the Heart of a lion.

We saw them the same day they filmed this. After filming this they drove up to Vancouver and did one of the best gigs ive ever seen. So much energy, and utterly captivating. Every song had the crown bouncing, which is saying something for a Vancouver crowd. Before the gig we bumped into Joe ( in Pats Pub on the Downtown Eastside ), who was having a sneaky pint with his Canadian family. He happily sat and chatted to my wife and i. What an absolute guy, what an absolute band. Tickets have been bought for Seattle next year!!! LONG LIVE IDLES.
Amazing that JT says he sees the best music coming from the US (which I'm not necessarily going to challenge) but he is the type of British artist that brings a frank and fearless honesty and directness that is utterly without pretense. This is just stunning, compelling art. Look at what Punk's become!

When I listened to JAAAOR, I thought the reason the music on it stood out as much as it did compared to art/post punk of the past was the production value, but after watching this, I think IDLES really are just that great of a band.

There's just something inspiring about this. Its some of the only raw humanity we see in music. Every song they have takes you right to a live performance. It's just the sounds of real sweat and spit, clenched teeth. Its impossible not to connect to it on the deepest level

I came across this video thanks to a friend years ago while I was battling depression. I was stuck in a really dark place and the meds weren’t helping. I felt like I was drowning and every day was one crippling panic attack after another. I still remember watching this at my desk at work and tears running down my face. The name of the album, the inspiration behind it, hearing the ‘we are not alone’, the energy, and the lyrics got me good. It made me feel less broken.
I became a fan yesterday after watching the Tiny Desk concert. I've been teaching at a music school franchise for over 14 years and have been waiting for new music to believe in. I think I finally found a band worth a F.

Idles was one of the best concerts i've ever seen. Playing to a crowd of 500 with the stage prescence to play to 50k. Amazing

There's just something inspiring about this. Its some of the only raw humanity we see in music. Every song they have takes you right to a live performance. It's just the sounds of real sweat and spit, clenched teeth. Its impossible not to connect to it on the deepest level

I came across this video thanks to a friend years ago while I was battling depression. I was stuck in a really dark place and the meds weren’t helping. I felt like I was drowning and every day was one crippling panic attack after another. I still remember watching this at my desk at work and tears running down my face. The name of the album, the inspiration behind it, hearing the ‘we are not alone’, the energy, and the lyrics got me good. It made me feel less broken.
I became a fan yesterday after watching the Tiny Desk concert. I've been teaching at a music school franchise for over 14 years and have been waiting for new music to believe in.
