Hi ya, ottoswinebar. Thanks for stopping by and the kind note. The Cam-Jam is new to us too. It has such a fun, memorable name. We needed a solution and were standing in the hardware store on the bungee cord aisle. We didn't really want a bungee cord for this purpose, but it's the closest thing we could think of. Browsing EVERY shelf, we hoped something would "jump out" at us and say, "I'm what you need." And lo and behold, it did! Pretty cool that they have them in beautiful Australia too.

Thank you for sharing your modifications. May I suggest that SAE connectors work, but our portable power system changed out all of ours this year to Anderson-style PowerPole connectors from Powerwerx. They offer better connectioins, higher amperage, and tethers to prevent loosening. The Powerwerx line of connectors, tools, guages and accessories are among the best for DIY'ers like us.

I'm in the fire alarm business. FYI: To be effective, a smoke detector must be mount 4" down from the ceiling, no greater than 12" or 4" away from the side wall. The area you have it mounted is a dead smoke space.

I like the interlocking foams, the magnetic door stops, and folding mattress. They are great upgrades/modifications. I wish the manufacturer upgrades the door hinge to wind-resistant.
I question ALL RV monitoring gauge/reading accuracy (battery charging, water level, etc.); they are junk.
The floor is easily replaceable with aluminum when the plywood is rotted. They cheap out on the floor.
Increasing fuse amp is great to reduce the burnout; however, there is a small risk of fire hazard because if the electrical wire is small, not rated for higher fuse amp, it will get hot and will melt and cause fire.
I only run portable electric heater; it's safer and more efficient than propane heater.

    • @wobblyotteroutdoors

You're welcome, AL, and thank you for the kind words. We have not had a problem with condensation on the floor. There have been times when there has been condensation on the windows. 🤣 We didn't have any cutting oil, so we used 30-weight motor oil... thus the smoke. Kinda dramatic looking isn't it? Thank you for reminding us. Cutting oil will be in the shop soon.

Hello Phil. We use WaterBricks to store/carry water. Each container holds 3.5 gallons. We usually take 3 with us. Here's a picture of where the WaterBricks ride in Poe on our trips: instagram.com/p/BxQbkcDhky6/?
For hygiene we setup the Browning privacy shelter and use a Helio pressure shower. We absolutely LOVE the privacy shelter. It fits our needs so well. Links are below...

You have no idea how I appreciate a camper storage/setup video that isn't amazon affiliated. I have to buy plenty of things from them as we are in very rural Wy right now but the affiliate links in every other video are just excessive and frankly, I'm sick of amazon. I like your method of showing what you bought but not recommending any one place to buy the items. Hence, a question. Those lights you have that have a number of different settings, what are they called? I really like those!

Thank you for watching and the comments. They are called RV/boat dimmable, 12-volt ceiling lights. Here is a link to the one we purchased (we bought it through Amazon) so that you can see it, as well as other suggested items related to it and reviews. amzn.to/2Qija7O It is our WOO affiliate link. Regardless of what is purchased after using one of our affilitate links, we may earn a small commission. It helps keep our channel going. We appreciate everyone who watches our videos, as well as those who find our product and informational links helpful.

the dual smoke & carbon detectors not good choice bc 1 rises ceiling mount & 1 is heavier than air & sinks, but better than not hving them & tiny short ceiling camper so fine in this case.

Thanks for the info about the different layers of each type of danger. We appreciate too that those layers are compressed in the tiny campers short air space - and prefer to have some warning system. We mostly have it to help warn about carbon monoxide.
