Love the backsplash and the dining table light ideas. Thanks
Thanks for your comment! I appreciate it.
I would rather listen to someone not sponsored then a salesperson or someone sponsored by something when it comes to camper
Thank you Austin. I thought it was important to say that. Look for new videos coming in a couple of weeks!
@austinrust I completely agree with you!! We travel do to our jobs. My husband knows about living in camper & 5th wheels. I’m about 3 almost 4 years into living majority of my life in our 5th wheel. I have so much to learn and he is learning more and more too. I love to learn from people who actually live the same life. I need a lot of help with space, organizing and redecorating. If you live in a camper full time it’s hard for me with space. I want to buy stuff but don’t have the room. Plus with our job we have to move very often
@@michellesavage6117 I totally agree 💯
Agreed 💯
Or anything. I listened to all the sponsored glowing reviews of the Pixel 6 phone when it first came out and it was buggy garbage. The P7 came out & those same reviewers getting affiliate commissions pivoted to trashing the P6 and raving about the P7. 🤦
Good stuff. Simple stuff to do but adds use value. I really like what you did with the pantry lighting.

Great video and I love to hear your just a regular guy like the rest of us and not sponsored. Love it
I appreciate that!
Helpful and you didn’t hype it up by flailing your hands all over the place ! (Thanks for that ! )
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for your comment.
liught up pantry is fantastic! Great mods thanks for sharing!
Thank you! I appreciate you watching and your comment. I did a second video which you can see here: ruclips.net/video/Tfc21ywvlGE/видео.html
Nicely done, Jim. Enjoyed the video.
Thank you! Glad you liked it.
I could listen to you speak all day. Such a peaceful vibe. Super helpful info, and I love what y’all have done with your camper. Definitely looking into these. Thank you!
Thank Lou! I appreciate it. I think it helps that I'm not trying to sell you anything. :) Don't miss part 2 of this series: ruclips.net/video/Tfc21ywvlGE/видео.html
Thanks for your suggestions!
You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it.
Love to hear about long term campers!! As a child my camping experience began with a trip from Johnstown PA to Ridgecrest CA!! We had a 15' Hi-Lo, slept 6!!! Mom and Dad, dinette, 2 canvas cots, 3 girls (2 head to toe in 1, youngest in one above mom and dad), baby in a canvas crib, small canvas cot with 4 canvas sides attached to cot above mom and dad on 1 end and sitting on the pantry cupboard on the other! PortaPotty under the forward seat, below the other canvas cot! Pulled by a 1960 BelAire Chevrolet!! 1964!! I've been camping ever since!!
WOW! Jan, you've got me beat. I started with my parents in 1972 or so in a 17' Monitor trailer. I remember it had a propane light on the wall (kinda like a Coleman lantern) that provided light and heat!
@Jim Thomas the HiLo had a propane furnace. It'd cook you out of that little trailer! Dad would hang a Coleman lantern under the roof vent, on the handle used to crank it open, and light and heat the trailer! Great memories! The Gateway Arch in St. Lois wasn't finished. We waded in creeks, swam in lakes, and "rode" horses (my uncle rode the horse and hung on to us) in the south and Midwest, and used a flattened cardboard box to slide down sand dunes in the southwest.
@@janmoline Great memories! Thanks for sharing them.
Some great tips in this video. Thanks for posting
Thanks Vernon! I appreciate your comment. More tips here: ruclips.net/video/Tfc21ywvlGE/видео.html
Great job explaining things. Most video sites lose my attention but you seem very much like me and I appreciate your approach to RVing.
Thank you Phil! I had fun making the video and I'm glad you liked it.
😂😂😂 you hear about it huh? Thanks for the video. My husband and I have been camping for 20 years up here in Northern Alberta but I love seeing what other people are up too. Always good to get new ideas. I will be mounting some eye hooks for storage underneath. I hate my chairs flopping around.
Thanks Koral! I'm glad you liked it.
I don’t own an RV or have even thought of getting one.. yet I watched start to finish lol.. with my adhd that doesn’t happen often lol
Thanks for watching ! And thank you for your affirming words.
I like the floor and pantry lighting.
Things I did to our trailer. Put a grab bar on the screen door. Couple of screws on the ends caps of my rear bumper so the caps dont come off.
Thanks Tom!
My wife and I are new to trailer life and found value from your video. We used the mosaic tiles in our kitchen and bathroom and they look great! Thank you for the tips we just subscribed for more👍
That is awesome! Thank you!
Great ideas. I'm going to put those motion sensor lights in the cupboards of my semi-truck! Awsome😄
Thanks! Glad you found it helpful.
Gotta keep the wifey 😊 happy. Thanks again. You need to get with A book reading company and get an audition, I bet they would hire you for audible books. Gas money for the road, Think about it.
Thank you! I am not yet an RVer but am considering it to escape the cold Midwest winters. I am attempting to educate myself regarding RV life so videos like yours are helpful and appreciated!
I'm glad you found it helpful. RV life is awesome, I hope you try it soon!
Love the lighting ideas THANK YOU for sharing !
I'm glad you found something you like! Thanks for watching and your comment.
How do you keep batteries in lil motion dark eye sensors in closed cabinets? Light
@@roberttaylor8261 Hi! I'm not sure I understand your question. The lights have both a motion and light sensor, so they won't come on even though the cabinet is dark. They also need to see some motion - either the cabinet door opening, or a hand entering the cabinet.
@@Seabee_Camper ok I thought just electric eye for dark? I like your Strip led light in Pantry
I prefer your videos because they're not like everyone else who's just yelling and face smiling and seems like there's always trying to sell something for their advertisers. Please keep up the good works, thank you for sharing. 😊
Thank you Brett! I'm just trying to be me. Thanks for your kind words.
Couldn’t agree more! Subbed immediately because of this

What a great video. Love the tile trick and the 🔥 fire alert one we bought a second one for the kitchen but never thought about having one in the bedroom... so if there is a fire you ha e it one hand so you can get out. That's great!

Thank you Kim! Glad you enjoyed it.
Nicely explained and some very good ideas … you might want to look into 12v light that turns on and off by touching it. If you keep your finger on it , it dims or gets brighter … perfect as a night light or ambient / mood lighting.
Great ideas. Thanks Luis!
Thank you for your service! I enjoyed your video and just subscribed.
@CampingCoastie thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Check out the follow-up I did with 7 more easy mods.
I am female with rear king bed. Problem is came off track roof leaks and I have no choice but to live in this junk. But between being clostrohibic I really need those extra feet. Any suggestions? I was going to pull out and lean on horses is that going to work. Any advise for instructions would be so appreciated . Best cheapest materials flex seal okay for roof? I must do all alone so this is first experience little with painting but not fixing. This and is it possible to eliminate altogether and just make a permanent? Thank you for any advice . Saw show and look honest and knowledgeable is appreciated 😊
Hi Kathleen! It's hard to give exact advice without knowing what kind of RV you have and what type of slide mechanism. If thee camper is not going to move again, you can wrestle out the slide all the way and support the end sticking out with jacks/wood saw horses etc. (I'm assuming a Schwintek slide system from the way you describe it) Then you could seal the slide seams with flex seal or eternabond tape. This isn't exactly a factory fix, but it will work for an RV that will be stationary. If you plan to move , this obviously would only be a temporary fix.

I am having spinal surgery in May. I have buying a camper on my bucket list but I will wait until I’m healed. It hurts to put up with sciatic pain. Once the pain is gone I will look forward to camping. Right now I’m thinking I will want a small camper. I look forward to enjoying sitting outside around a campfire. I appreciate your video showing important things to buy. I will be camping mostly small thereby why I want a small camper that I will be able to tow. I want a small (micro) camper, one that has storage underneath. A bathroom with shower inside or outside. I kind of like the model with the kitchen outside with a pass through. I will save your recommendations and hopefully find them when I am ready to camp again. Oh and this will be my first time camping in a trailer. Before it was always tent camping.
We started in a pop up, then went to a tent for a number of years. We're getting to like our comfort more as we get older. :)
Consider the fire blankets, too, especially for the kitchen
That's a great idea, thank you! I appreciate you watching and commenting on my video!
Great info, thanks
You're welcome! Thanks for watching and commenting.
We had both tanks won with the automatic switch over; winter,Minnesota; ran totally out middle of night! Never again; run on 1 tank at a time!!
I'm with you!
You said you were up in New England and was time to put the RV to bed for the winter. No, no, no
That means time to haul ass south
Haha, I am a ways away from retirement, so I have to be happy with part timing it for now. Someday!
That back splash is nice. Thinking about adding one 👍🏽
Thanks! Glad you found something that sparked your interest.
Better than FIRE EXTINGUISHERS…(I recently learned first hand when our teenage son had a grease fire in the kitchen.)
FIRE BLANKET(s) and a handy container of BAKING SODA like a jar with a lid Why???? You ask:
1. Quicker and WAAY easier to use
2. Less mess to clean up
3. Blanket doesn’t expire
4. Weigh less
5. Blanket can be used to wrap a person who is on fire
6. Both are much more environmentally friendly
7. Baking soda is something I always have on hand. So adding the blanket for home and and when we travel was double insurance. Note: I keep 2 pairs of gloves ( hand protection from the fiberglass) with each blanket when and if they will be used.
That's a great suggestion, thanks for sharing it! I'm not sure I would give up my extinguishers, but this is another layer of protection.
.....combined with about 10 smoke detectors and you should be good
I'm not sure I'd go all the way to ten, but I do think for short money you can make your camper much safer. 😄
So..what would the low pressure lp supply on the rv used for?..I have one on my camper
You can use them with a propane grill, but if it is a grill designed to have a 1 lb propane bottle connected directly to it, you must remove that regulator to get adequate propane flow. If you don't the grill won't get as hot as it should.
I am originally from northern MA. Been camping since our honeymoon in 1977. Settled in Upper Penninsula of MI. We have had many tents, campers and RV's. We have now a 1986 Toyota mini Cruiser for weekend jaunts and a 1977 Bendix Aristocrat that we leave at our Lake Superior shore camp property. We revamped both of them and now cant see having anything else. ❤
Wow! That sounds awesome, Sandy. Thanks for sharing your journey.
I replaced all interior light bulbs with LED to save battery power
Great suggestion. Our previous camper had regular light bulbs and we did the same thing. Better, longer lasting bulbs, and use less electricity. Thanks for your comment!
These are all great tips. I have a little bumper-mounted grille and I still could not get it to fire up very well off that connection. I also like the pantry lights - I will need to do some exploration to see what 12v sources we have near the pantry. One easy tip I'd add, especially for spacially-challenged campers, is get an over-the-door hook for the bathroom. It adds more space for towels and keeps the mess off the floor.
Thanks! Great tip about the over the door hook. There's never enough space for hanging towels.
Dollar tree has a new one that looks high-end for $1.25. I love mine, it's great for my tiny camper.

What do you use to make sure stuff sticks to the counters? Walls?
Hi Doug! We use Museum Putty for horizontal surfaces, and 3M Command Strips for the walls.
I put small led lights on goose necks over the bed for reading...those lights are what mine came with and they were too glaring. Also put them over the recliner and the table.
Thanks Vanessa! I like the goose neck lights too.
Enjoyed the video very much. So happy you have had great camping trips over the last 40 years with your wife
Thank you! I appreciate that a lot.
Great video! Thank you for all your tips!
Thank you! Look for more videos coming this month I hope you will also enjoy.
Hi🙋♀️🇨🇦❤️‼️Just subbed! From this one video, you video is really good! You explain stuff really well👍🏼
Awesome! Thank you!
Great tips! Fun to listen to!
Thank you Katie!
I'd recommend replacing any key locks with barrel locks. Keys bend or wear down and you spend time jiggling the keys to get them to work. Barrel locks are one way, the keys are sturdy and someone can't just force the lock with a screwdriver.
That's a good idea. Thanks for sharing it!
Nice job. Can you show how to install a roof fan
Do you mean a max air fan or fan-tastic fan?
An electric skillet saves your propane
That's a great idea, Vickie! We have an induction cook top that we use mostly outdoors. It not only saves on propane, but helps keep bacon and fish odors out of the camper.
The front door screen is awesome! I have a dog that always scratching the screen...I'm getting one!!!!
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you found something you like.
This was a great video. The outside is more my husband's thing, but I found the inside ones especially useful. I never would've thought of some of those and I can see where they could make a real difference. Thank you for sharing!

I live full time on my own lot. I use my my fire place to heat my Rv.
@@edwardsnelling9536 good one! Our electric fireplace will heat the whole camper so long as it is 40 degrees or higher outside. Saves propane!
That's why I use fireplace

You need to address your slide out finger seals before you get water inside.

We have those same motion lights on our stairs at our house. They're great! I put touch lights in our camper pantry cabinet, but maybe I'll switch to the motion activated ones... we'll see. The one tip that you gave that I will definitely do is the fire extinguishers... One in the bedroom and one outside is a great idea. thank you!

I’ve never saw anyone have a problem with a grill and the rv quick connect that wasn’t related to double regulating… remove the regulator from the grill and it generally works fine
Exactly right. But some grills have the regulator and the burner control in a single unit which makes it hard to do that. In my Weber they are one piece.
😂 they are 75$ now..
Ha ha! Thanks for watching.
You I am on the 2nd idea the screen guard and you've already got me. That's exactly what I needed and I need these little bug things too. I'm thanking you in advance. And I'm going to subscribe and I'm going to follow you. Thank you for all your good advice

Can you tell me the part number of propane valve you bought for the bbq

Are the motion lights set off by the cats?
Yes, unfortunately. But since they are aimed at floor level, very little light gets into the bedroom. 🙂

I don't own a fifth-wheel however I do own a 26 ft pull behind and some of the things that you showed me today was very helpful thank you. you gave me some good ideas NEW CAMPER ON THE BLOCK LOL
THANK YOU FOR YOUR IDEA'S
You're welcome! I'm glad you found the video helpful. Although I have a 5th wheel, I think most of my ideas would work on any type of RV. And - we were all new campers at one time. Oh, the mistakes I made!
FYI you can also spend less at a big box store and get 110 light fixtures and use 12 volt bulbs.
That's a good suggestion. Thanks for sharing it!
You are doing the propane correctly. You’re never supposed to have the switch over thing in the middle. There was a RUclips video on that from an RV tech up in WA.
Great info… thanks!
Thanks Rachael! I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
Isn't it funny how people who are doing nothing have the nerve to write a doer an essay. Lol. All of your suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks Ronnie. I appreciate it.
Not sure I understand the gas deal. Why is the gas line good enough for the furnace, Waterheater, Stove but not a grill? I’ve used my grill and fire pit for five years no problem. What am I missing?
The furnace, water heater etc are designed to run on low pressure propane, about 1/2 of 1 psi. The regulator is at the tanks. Most grills are made to directly connect a one pound tank, providing full tank pressure to the grill. There is a regulator on the grill to bring tank pressure down to less than 1 psi. When the grill regulator has that little pressure coming in, the output is typically far less then needed. My grill nowhere as hot running off the quick connect - it couldn't get enough gas. The adaptor I use puts full tank pressure to the grill.
Good info just ordered the propane quick disconnect/splitter.
