Everyone loves to talk vocals with Arch Enemy, but their guitars are written and performed SO incredibly well. They're easily my favorite part of the band.
Arch Enemy has had female death metal vocals for nearly 20y now. They're one if not THE pioneers. Props to Angela for leading the way and doing it in STYLE!
one of the female growlers who i think is underrated and under looked would be laura nichol from light this city. their song obituary would be cool to see a reaction of. dont really know their new stuff that well.
"Arch Enemy: War Eternal" live in Wacken. With the 1st vocalist Angela Gossow, which I call "Blonde Viking Shieldwoman" ( who personally chose Alyssa for her clean vocals, stage presence and growling, now Gossow's the manager of the band and married to one of the members) "My Apocalipse" ruclips.net/video/5A-EkV3pGJ8/видео.html . "Under Black Flags We March" ruclips.net/video/ZPlVbLpuEhI/видео.html . "Do or Die" (Amaranthe feat. Angela Gossow) ruclips.net/video/iZweNFWbegI/видео.html .
I liked her more in The Agonist, but Angela hand picked Alissa so she knew what she was doing. Also, Alissa is dating Doyle which gives her points in my book lol
You need to react to the one that lead the way for Alissa (current AE singer). React to Nemesis by Arch Enemy official video. There you will see the Queen of Metal Angela Gassow (former lead singer and now AEs manager)
No shit? I did not know that! Damn. I went to the meet and greet when they came to Atlanta, met the band, who were super cool, and damn nice. I’d swear I saw Angela lurking. It likely was her! I am an OLD METALHEAD, and rarely bother with meet and greets. It is worth the effort for this band.
Arch Enemy is great! I really like Alissa's harsh vocals and she has a really pretty clean voice as well. I'm not well versed in the eras featuring their previous singers but I definitely like what I've heard since Alissa joined.
I love going back and watching your older reactions that I haven't seen before I was a Trash Talker and watching you guys just become fans of metal. Much love
Cool reaction guys! The cool thing is that the band has just as much energy live, if not more. They almost hold back on the recorded stuff to make the live shows seem epic. Checkout Wacken 2018.
My dudes. Yesterday was my bday and on Tool tuesday. Today i get arch enemy THANKS FELLAS. Been suggesting them on a few videos so glad you got to them. One request, Machine Head
Nice reaction! The guitarists in the band are very talented 👌 You should react to Nemesis, Bloodstained Cross or Blood in your hands if you want to hear their former singer. She is now the manager of the band (Angela Gossow). Or if you want live performance, do Nemesis live from Tokyo 2008.
"Do you hear that guitar?!" Me: "My neighbors hear the guitar and I'm on my phone." I legit used this song one day when my neighbors were blasting Christmas music a few weeks ago. (It's July) two minutes in I turned it off and their music was gone.
I always do that, as I'm from Brazil, my neighbors are always listening to horrible music like the funk carioca that is completely different from American funk. So I always put on Metal for them to hear lol
Alissa was a stand in for Nightwish. This was during their Denver concert. It was Alissa and Elize Red, they where the backing singers of Kamalot. They did their best to make the show go on. Look up " Nightwish Denver debacle . To read the details. There is a RUclips video of it as well. Just a long winded way of saying she can sing (clean) as well.
Love the show boys. First time comment. Check out leader of the rats by these ones. The first song I heard by them and that was it, one if my top songs ever. Keep up the good work. Keep'er lit. 🤘

I highly HIGHLY recommend their song Nemesis with their previous singer Angela Gossow (who turned the reigns over to Alissa a few albums ago). It's the song that got me into Arch Enemy and it has the same powerful type of message and you'll get a chance to hear another of the most powerful female metal vocalists ever.
I said it on a previous video a little while back, but definitely need to reiterate now: It is time. They're ready for Ne Obliviscaris - And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope.

Been a long time AE fan. Saw them many many moons ago at a show, had no idea who they were but Angela and the boys left a major impression on me. And I can say now without a doubt, alissa straight kills it as the latest badass to carry the AE torch!!

Alissa (the vocalist) has a song with Babymetal. Distortion, is a great song. And the first vocalist, Angela Gossow, was also bursting, another great female guttural voice.
the blond guitarist, jeff loomis had a more epic band called nevermore, check it out. one of the best guitar player, epic band. heres a few songs: i voyager, the riverdragon has come, final product, my acid words.
Now you need to see her predecessor, Angela Gossow the Goddess of Khaos perform the song 'Nemesis' Live in Japan 2008. It's so gloriously raw and unbridled.
She actually has a great clean singing voice too. Plus you got to give some love to the drummer, his feet on the double bass....crazy! Like the drummer inLovebites, that girl is really good bass drums are really.....🔥🔥🔥
If you want to explore growl, you should add to your playlist *Nemesis* by Arch Enemy. My advice is to react to *live version in Tokio 2008* , with their previous vocalist, Angela Gossow (now AE manager). You will hear the two main growl styles. I'll try to make it simple: Alissa sings in what's called _fry vocals_ : vocal cords are almost closed (but do not vibrate!). This kind of growl requires less air flow, so it's more versatile, allowing the singer to sing longer phrasing. It also sound somewhat… mmmh, "smoother"? Angela sings in what's called _false chords_ , with vocal cords completely open. This requires much more airflow, so it requires killer breath control because it can be done for shorter phrasing, but results in a style that sounds like powerful bursts: and that's why many AE fans actually miss Angela!
When the band first started they did have a male frontman but he left then the band got a female vocalist I've forgotten her name but she left to spend more time with family then Alyssa came in and she's been killing it and she has so much energy no matter if it in studio in videos or live she gets everyone hyped up Should do eagle flies alone, you will know my name and nemesis and war eternal next
Alissa White Glutz is the 3rd vocalist of the band, she succeded Angela Gossow who wanted to pursue other things and wanted to spent more time with her family but she is still in the band tho as their business manager....she recommended Alissa to take over her...the first vocalist was Johan Liiva....The reason why i suggested for y'all to react to Arch Enemy Angela Gossow era because she is considered to be the pioneer of female death growler & false chord screamer that pave the way for other female vocalist to enter in this genre......and yeah my non visual reaction was the same back den as everyone now, shocked, amazed, fell in love with this new fresh addition to metal when i bought her debut album Wages of Sin with Arch Enemy 2001 ......This the live version of Enemy Within which i suggested m.ruclips.net/video/3FhefGPpb4Q/видео.html but if u wanna check their studio version be my guest.....
And yeah there is a technique how to do it safely w/o destroyin ur vocal chord........check this out also m.ruclips.net/video/fCMcu18sigc/видео.html from Angela Gossow

Great reaction to an epic song. The 2016 performance of Nemesis at Wacken is epic, but I personally prefer the 2018 performance as Alissa's voice is constantly growing - but there isn't a separate video for that so you'd need to do the 2018 full set video and use the link for Nemesis. Their former vocalist and current manager Angela is epic too - "We Will Rise MFVF 2010" is an epic video for her.
If you like Alissa you should DEFINITELY check out her material with her old band, The Agonist, AND their more recent material with vocalist Vicky Psarakis. "Panophobia" and "Thank You Pain" show off Alissa's ability to switch between growls and clear vocals, unlike the Arch Enemy all-growls formula (which I personally dislike). Vicky really shines with "Your Victim, My Witness" and their latest tracks including "In Vertigo". Rock on and keep reacting to badass tracks! 🤘😎
If you want another band fronted by one badass lady, In This Moment kills it! Check out "Blood," "Roots," "Comanche," I could go on and on with their songs lol
Unfortunately I cannot pay you through patreon, but I do have to recommend an amazing Female lead band for you. Alissa was the lead vocalist before she joined Arch Enemy, now the lead singer is Vicky Psarakis. The band is called The Agonist and a song you must hear is "In Vertigo". Vicky has some amazing growls just like Alissa and at the end of this song she just gets DEEP. It is AMAZING. Seriously consider it because your jaw might drop. Other female lead growler bands who I enjoy are: Butcher Babies, Infected Rain, Straight Line Stitch (Not sure if they are still together and playing but their music is phenomenal, especially their song "Black Veil")

You want your minds blown? Do Slaughter to prevail- Demolisher
And plague flowers the kaleidoscope- Ne Obliviscaris
Alissa used to be in a Canadian band...The Agonist. You should react to their song Panaphobia. 😁
Hell Yeah!!!! Cheers!
Have you guys done war eternal live at wacken 2016 yet?
If you wanna hear Alissa's clean vocals check out her previous band The Agonist she does clean vocals and growls with them.
You should check out some old school Clawfinger...they should be one of the first bands to mix rap/hip hop and metal....way back in the early 90's
