Fun fact - Alissa White Gluz saved Nightwish at the last minute as a back up singer for the band with Elize Ryd when the second singer Anette took ill, shortly after Floor replaced Anette.
Another fun fact she was lead singer in a band called The agonist before this

Arch Enemy are probably the biggest name in melodic death metal. They are mainly Swedish, with the blond guitarist Jeff being American and vocalist Alissa White-Gluz is from Montreal.
Alissa tends to have blue hair most of the time, and she designs all of her stage outfits herself. She is sometimes referred to as the Beast Queen of Metal. She’s an excellent role model if you do want to learn to growl.
In the band’s early years, they had a different frontwoman, Angela Gossow. She’s still the band’s manager, and she chose Alissa to take her place.

Alyssa was the first woman I ever heard who could scream like this. I don't know what I was doing before 2014 when their War Eternal album was released by Arch Enemy but I was totally blown away when I first saw their videos from that album. As for live stuff, they have some great videos from Wacken 2016. Nemesis and War Eternal are some of my favorites.

I heard of Arch Enemy back in 2004 when Angela was the singer, then she retired and handed the reigns to Alyssa then became the bands manager. Which I love both singers and any song from both of their eras are amazing. Which I liked the original singer also (I can’t remember his name right now) but not as much as Angela or Alyssa
My first exposure to this band and it won't be the last. Thanks for the introduction 😊

The band At the gates was one of the cofouders of the"Gothenburg Sound" back in the 1990´S IMO The beginning of all great Death metal that is popular now

War Eternal was my first Arch Enemy introduction. The guitar hook in that song snagged me immediately. Just immense talent all the way around.

I've been listening to Alissa White Gluz ever since she started signing here in Montréal, Canada back when she was in her former band called The Agonist. I was already listening to Arch Enemy before when Angela Gossow was their signer. The transition as quite signifiquant and the sound changed a little but it's still quite good IMO.

I saw Arch Enemy live with Hatebreed back in the day when they had their second vocalist Angela and they were amazing. Dehumanization is my favorite song of theirs its from 2003 but hey I like it lol
Arch Enemy is a band with enjoyable songs, they have many easy melodies, and very catchy, almost pop and sometimes almost epic melodies. Extreme Metalheads don't like that, but who cares? ha ha. I like a few of their albums with their second singer Angela, and a couple with their third singer Alissa (ex The Agonist). They're one of the first Melodic Death Metal bands that came out in the mid 90's.

Only thing is that tbh I thought that Handshake with hell would be more interesting for you, it’s a bit more intense and more variety.

Hey! Thanks for checking this one out. Great job. 🤘The music is written by Michael Amott and Daniel Erlandsson (guitarist and drummer). Fun fact. Both their guitarists are in the world's top 100. In Arch Enemy, the guitars provide melody. Not the vocals. It's unique. The vocals are 99.99% heavier than the guitars, which is very interesting. It's good music to exercise to because it gives you more power. 😆 To get a better taste of their live shows I definitely recommend "The Watcher" or "Nemesis live at Wacken 2016". I would definitely not recommend Handshake with Hell because it's not a good representation of their sound. It's a one off, kind of like Disturbed - Sound of Silence.
