Great video. Problem is, saltwater tanks need flow, but if you have an anemone, it seems you can't even use half the power of the power heads since anemones get whipped around.
I listened twice but I missed the common name of the white anemone with the purple tips. Back in the mid-70s I had a common anemone (whose name I can't think of after this many years, and he had a full relationship with a percula clown. I'd throw a couple of juvenile guppies in the tank and the clown would immediately go catch one and stuff it right into the center of the anemone. That fascinated me as it was my first salt tank and I just didn't expect to hit upon a great symbiotic relationship between the two right from the start.
Bubble tips lose their bubble tips depending on flow. The less flow the fuller the bubble tips & the more flow the less bubble in the tips. The idea is to mimic nature & have high/low tide strong current every 12 hours for 30 to 60 minutes. The strong flow will help aerate the water & clear out the water column of debris/detritus/waist as in nature.
I got my first purple tip Condylactis (Condy) at a frag swap yesterday. She is doing well so far. Has found a place to insert her foot, and I hope she stays there. I hear that they are a more hardy version to start out with. I am looking to get a rbt soon
They’re a coral that moves they are literally jus like coral in every way except for the fact that they have a foot and can move around any time anyone asks me what they are I always tell people they’re like a coral and a jellyfish had a baby
Banggai Cardinals have also been known to host A anemone, and I know I have seen at least one of or more fish that will host, but for the life of me I can not remember what fish right now. Love your video, I too am A anemone "LOVER"
I have an anemone that has let my lawnmower blenny do whatever he wants without hurting, Stinging! I have video. Why does it let my blenny roll around in his tentacles ?😮
I started out with one rose bubble tip anemone 4yrs ago. I now have about 5 in the my 38 gal.tank with a very territorial maroon decorator clown. I have given away several when I have been able to catch them moving and they are on the glass or sand and have not yet attached themselves to the rocks. But I found its has become problematic in that they reproduce too fast and I grow very large and may soon have to actually give away my beautiful rocks to reduce the number of anemone. I am considering selling the clown and anemones and rocks to someone with a very large tank if I can find a buyer as my tank is too small for all this activity.
Nice anemone! I love them too! I have a green bubble tip. I hope she can grow larger quickly since she is still little too small for my clowns to sleep within. 😁
Abner Sanchez They go where the want. when I put my rbt anemone in my tank I put it right on top of the rock under the light. within an hour it moved 2 inches to the left and hasn't moved since. I put mine in the tank a month after I started it and I don't think it liked the water quality because it disappeared in the rock holes. A month later it's still where it went but now is always out with its foot in a hole.
I feed my anemones shrimp with a turkey baster (called spot feeding) gently put the turkey baster filled with the shrimp (fish food) frozen, and VERY slowly, let the anemone grasp on to the baster and then gradually let the fish float in to the anemone. The anemone will grab the shrimp with it's arms and pull it towards it's mouth and eat it. If they aren't used to it, it may take some time for them to catch on! I also use reef roids and reef food which are wonderful for them...
I dont suppose you happen to have the file for the AI primes lighting settings do you? Mine's finally arrived and as I've got exactly the same tank, i thought you'd be the best person to ask!!
@@Jonsexotics I just bought this light and my anemone changed colors - I tried too many settings. I put my pixie30 back on until I can acclimate the HD prime 16. Id love to know your settings as well.
+dudepros i am running the colours as desired but the whites are at 60% as it gives me diatoms running them higher but all the other colours i run anywhere from 30% to 100%
My anemone is named Baymax, but currently I will call him bastard. Bastard has decided that, despite being a Condylactis, he wants tk put himself in low light, high flow areas of the tank, and then act mad as if it weren’t his choose to be there.
My boyfriend and I have had a Sebae crispsa anemone for 5 months and it still hasn't rooted to a spot. We tried placing in a pvc in the sand. Is our flow to high? Should we let him roll around until he finds a spot? Any advice is appreciated!
Hi, I am currently running 2x AI Primes on my 170 litre tank and just wondered what schedule you are running you lights at and what intensity's of each channel?? I ask because my tri-colour bubble tip recently started bleaching so I have dialled them right down and feeding it daily to get it back to health
@Elisa test your water... it's not a good sign it's upside down..put it back on its feet ..always test and make sure your water is ideal before you buy.
Leave it alone. Even if you move it, it's likely to move back into the spot you took it from. If you do try to move it, find a spot that's similar to the spot it's hiding in since it prefers the conditions in the spot it's in like flow and light intensity. Oh, and if it's on a piece of rock you might accidently tear it's feet off like in the video above. Just be careful.
Check your water levels, if everything looks good , put it in a crack , or hole in your live rock , close by a power head or were close to where the water comes back into the tank.
No5 No one knows why they loose their bubbles. They’ve been known to loose them in both high and low flow. As well as high and low light, and many different feeding types. So far nobody knows why they do it for sure.
My ba lost its bubble the very next day after adding this Prime HD 16 light and when I was using high flow. Also my anemone lost its color. My tank is small though so could be a factor.

I got mine after 8 years crazy it’s still alive all since December hopefully it will live running healthy too

Corals are animals too the basic difference between coral and anenomes are that coral consists of polyps and anemones are invertebrates
Joey Bekius anemones are polyps too and they are both inverts
the difference is that coral composed of multiple polyps and cannot move anemone is a one whole big polyp
Anemones=rcs?
I was given a amnoe and its moving every where I have a trigger n there now its n rock. Half out half n foot out. What good lighting
What type of Anemone is the greenish one in the middle? Its so pretty!!
Adjust the water flow on him and he will bubble back up . The power head flow makes a different.

Nice tank. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Have you ever thought about getting a ritteri anemone? Fantastic video.
Too big for my tank with the stuff I want to keep in it. But they’re very nice
@@Jonsexotics thank you very much, and fair enough! I appreciate the quick reply btw. Wonderful video!

ive heard that too much flow can induce a bubble tip to loose the bubbles...not sure but ive heard that.

Anemones are like the flowers of the sea
More like meat eating plants. Corals are the flowers.
What a really clean tanK.

Hello I have same.tank but why is my back glass black and yours ain't
have you had any issues with your yellow Angel picking at the other corals
Im running the same lights as you. My anemones bubble up further a day after feeding.
How exactly do you make an anemone stick somewhere in the tank when you first get it?

Thanks i appreciate it
yeh they walk around and we have videoed them tearing themselves into 2 as well
SeaShore Antics share please
Yeah no matter what you do, they’ll go where they want
how big is your tank?
Do you also hand feed the anemone if the clown fish do not? What do you recommend?
Thank you, loved your video!

Great marine tank bud! And great info about the tank to.
How do you have you ai prime light set up I would like to know ..I just got one and haven’t quite been able to come up with a successful set up
What kind of lighting you using percent wise for blue and white light
To my knowledge it was. 20-30% white max and 80% blue I always turned it up for the videos
@@Jonsexoticsinteresting mine are usually 60 percent white and 100 percent blue not sure if that’s good
Of course you found your sweet spot at 2 months. You’ve defied the odds!

add me on facebook and ill send you the one i have on my big tank you might just have to dial down the intensity a bit

the fungia should always be at the sand mate, enjoy the vids :)
Where did you buy the light and how much I can’t seem to find it
Whats the size of breeder box recommended to keep anonomme
Any breeder box that fits the anemone. They don’t need any space it’s just to keep them separated
What is your AI light percentages
What were u feeding your lemon peal angel fish
nori sushi sheets.
is this an green quadricolor with ore without orange Tip?
What’s the name of the purple tip How can I look for it

Sea anemones have higher chance of rooting in rocks.
what tank do you have
It's a long tentacle not a bubble tip
Its a bubble tip. High flow its will have long tentacle. Low flow will result in bubble like appearance.
Its invertebrate...dont get panic k.
what is that rainbow one plopped down in the middle?
Wolfy Kaname He said it was a green bubble tip anemone :)

Hello are you use hydra 16 hi?
What do the bubbles mean?
What’s the blue and yellow fish
Its a type of dwarf angel fish :)
that frog spawn is so pretty
Anyone know what tank this is?
I bought mine today and right now it’s in my tank. But it’s all closed up and it’s upside down. Is that means that it’s just stressed or is it dying?
Elsa192016 Alicia how is it now?
If it stayes closed for more then 24 hours then it has a big problem, check water and check foot, make sure its pink
@Elisa test your water... it's not a good sign it's upside down..put it back on its feet ..always test and make sure your water is ideal before you buy.

what is that long blue/green fish?
AyeNick some sort of wrasse
Was this filmed on a potatoe ?
How about the clown goby?
Great video!!!
How other fish are safe from anemone?
Keep away from their tentacles else they are toast. The fish know it by instinct.
Water change every?
day
Most corals have mouths
Corals are animals to 🤦🏻♂️
What type of clowns are those? ..... they look great!
are thoose onyx clowns? They are beautiful.
you should do more research before just assuming you have a complete understanding over a subject
I'm afraid of that happening

flow too strong that's why the bubble tip lost bubbles
