Not only that, but they do something dangerous for the deck: Since you don’t have to get so quick with burst mana, you can just have Charbelcher be a random card thrown in an otherwise decent deck. I am working on a mono black pitch spell deck with Charbelcher, it’s got potential.
The interesting thing is that 2 flavors of Eldrazi seem really good now, this simic strategy and a more aggressive aggro with with Eldrazi Mimic and Reality Smasher. Nulldrifter synergizes really well with Mimic, as well.
Deck tech... Idk Eye of Ugin was much more than a Sol land in Eldrazi it was often netting you 4 or 6 mana in its reduction fueling double casting 3-5 drops
While that is true this deck works differently. Elf Razo winter didn’t have the null drifters the mycosynths the commands. This version plays a lot more beepers instead of a bunch of reality smashers and copying them. I don’t think it’s as good as rodeado winter but it looks like a substantial threat imo
Can we see you try out the gruul aggro variant of the Eldrazi shell? Reminds me of the gruul variant we used to see back in 2015 modern, except now we have crazy stuff like Linebreaker, which, being a 3 mana 4/3 trample haste with significant upside is kinda nuts
I'm sure that this won't actually have any effect on Seth. If you do read this: S O W I N G M Y C O S P A W N does NOT contain an 'R' anywhere in the name of this card. Please save even a little bit of my sanity be saying ONLY the letters in the name. Thanks
Ive been using the card Make Your Own Luck with scry and surveil cards to plot the eldrazi and since you cast (for free) you get the cast triggers which is great
Guide of Souls is bonkers. I've seen it played in 8 whack, I play it in my Boros Humans. I love it gives my Humans another top tier one drop threat along with Champion. The lifegain isn't incidental either.
Would 'Not of This World' not be an auto-include in a deck like this? It can exile to Ugin's Labyrinth, and if you return it to hand via Labyrinth you can cast it for free to counter removal spells that target your big dudes. Idk it just seems like Not of This World is a card that works in perfect harmony with Ugin's Labyrinth.
The dream to cast Emrakul in modern with this deck isn't to use Sanitaruim, it's to discard it to hand size from The One Ring. Eldrazi Winter's most explosive starts didn't involve Soul Land into Soul Land. Eye of Ugin specifically let you put 8-12 power into play on turn 1, followed by a T2 Thought Knot Seer. Those were the impossible games to play against. The new Soul Land is good, but it pales in comparison. 2 mana on t1 by going down a card is NOT the same as cheating 8+ mana on t1. I think Devourer of Destiny is better in Tron to get the t2 Karn with the new Urza land.
I feel like I'd be curious to see this with Matter Reshaper replaced with Glaring Fleshraker, 2-1 split of Kozilek's Command and Dismember in the main, and replace Emrakul and some Nulldrifters for 2-4 Echoes of Eternity. Fleshraker just feels so impactful if it they don't have a burn spell for it. Just so much free damage that's not even targeted. Tack on two free damage and +2 mana to every Eldrazi just seems kinda wild. Not to mention all the nutty damage you can get from Echoes + Fleshraker. Evoke a nulldrifter? 4 spawns, 4 cards drawn, ping for 6 damage. Drew a thought knot off that? Sac the spawns, ping for 6 more, exile two cards from hand, get 4 more spawns. Can legit just storm off and hit for 12+ that turn
I wish you had put in one each of the other new titans just to see how they play. Edit : 19:12 I been saying it since I saw it, Dimir Scam with Greif and Nulldrifter.
I thought about this colorless deck that uses glaring fleshraker along with egg cards to get a bunch of mana via spawn, as well as etb damage, and if it's not enough, using the spawn to cast a giant eldrazi
I'm potentially brewing mono red eldrazi with Thought knot, Matter reshaper, and Reality smasher, adding Vile Aggregate, Eldrazi Linebreaker, Voidpouncer, and maybe Eldrazi Obligator
Notably, in the first match, the opponent also should have had infinite life. I really want to see the first opponent's decklist. Also, I think the new new Koz is better as a meme top-end than the Emrakul, since it can be a surprise finisher after making a bunch of spawn tokens, doesn't require a specific land, and is only 9 mana.
I feel like the deck wants at least 2 more Vexing Baubles, mostly for Scam, but also for Cascade decks. I'll finish watching before giving ultimate judgement, but that's an early assessment.
I really want to see you try Affinity now, Ugin's Nexus being able to pitch a Myr Enforcer and Ugin's Binding being a free mass bounce when you play your Myr Enforcer seems insane.

I like Kozilek honestly. It’s less mana than Oolamog and Emrakul, buffs up your creatures AND can force your opponent to manifest 2 cards out of their hand on cast, faster than instant speed…which usually means taking their removal or counter spell they were saving for it.
I drafted the new Emrakul. The first few games I was short on lands trying to cram in a few too many effects but when i went from 15 to 17 lands suddenly any game I drew her I would just stall, draw into more removal, n build up either 6 C mana or 12 generic mana n casting her was always GG. Albeit tho that I was sick pre-release weekend so my friend who went picked up the box for me n I drafted a deck to play the one he had used, so I only had 1 match up to test it on. BUG rarely lets me down tho, that or Rakdos if I feel like drafting aggro
This ...felt like a real fun match to me haha. hobbits getting dropped off by gilded geese instead of eagles. I feel like they spread out the power to a lot of cool archetypes. Nadu ain't the favorite, but soultrader adds some nice midrange to a lot of decks. Energy gets a lot of cool pieces. Eldrazi are like very powerful but modern is also so fast that squirrels are threatening Emrakul haha
Seems like 4 yavimaya coast is pretty unnecessary, so many colorless lands and never struggle to have another source of blue/green. A swamp would have saved a couple life here and there, as little as it mattered - but more basics or a different utility land would probably be better
Seems to me the issue isnt just the new eldrazi land, its also nadu and ruby medalion. Idk why wizards prints these busted cards. its like they want to ruin the format.
Describing Eye of Ugin as a sol land seems a bit disingenuous. Eye of Ugin was 3 sol lands in a trench coat masquerading as a fair magic card for years.
Awesome video! Thanks for this gameplay I still think ancient stirrings could be good, like replacing the enmrakul, a nulldrifter or too, and the discard land. It digs 5 for a single green, and it finds both of your sol lands and the seven drops. To me is like one of the biggest reasons why you want to be in simic, since stirrings + devourer of destiny gives you soo much looks to find the sol lands AND the finishers. Chalice is fine in SB.
