For those asking about the clutch fan removal you have to undo the heater hose clamps and get them out of the way then the shroud has those little clips you pop open with a flathead and once you remove the shroud you just need a 12" adjustable wrench to loosen the clutch and take it off. Just make sure you don't take the belt off first because you need the tension to hold the fan in place while you loosen it.
This was incredibly clear and concise. I got in a time crunch and had to drive eight hours out west and I followed the advice here and knocked it out in no time it went exactly as planned. Thank you my friend
Nice. Only one problem that u didn't mention. What was wrong with the old water pump??? Were the gaskets just leaking??? I would bet....that's all that was wrong
@@bobbybouchard753 As stated above, some models have mechanical fans, some have electric. This model has electric, which you can see at various points in the video. The pumps are made for both types, therefore they all have threads either way. The Tahoe/Suburban models of this year range mostly had electric fans.
That light shining on your forearm made me think of a Bill Burr skit about how white people never discovered lotion. Telling this as your friend, my guy. Love your demonstrations.

Fan shroud and fan clutch removal?
Great video... you made that look super simple. Thanks!
What about removing the fan?
No paper gasket or silicone?
I’m guessing those were metal gaskets? Thanks
In your video the 5.3 has the electric fans what about clutch belt driven fan like mine?
For the ppl with a 5.3 u can a fan clutch wrench for rent at Autozone for 80.00 and you’ll get your money back when u return it💯
Need to do this tomorrow....about how long should it take?
Nice and clean job!👍
Thanks!
Thank you sir

Probably mine is leaking and I think it’s a pretty common issue
Can you do a video on how to replace a head gasket on this car please?

Thank you so much.
Howd you get the fan off?
Looks like an electric fan…. So no need to remove it
Old video buy bump with wrench on and mallet
Some models have the fan some don’t.
You can borrow the fan wrench from oreillys
@@ohjay7962 not electric fan u can see the threads on it . These guys are great but not showing how the fan comes off is misleading

What about the Clutch fan?
Every other video says to Torque the bolts to 11ft pounds first and then 22 ft pounds
You didn't show how you took the fan blade out
I started to do until I noticed that that in this video he never removed the fan From the water pump.
Why does my rig have a fan and his don't? 😂
