Very helpful as always. But I would like to point out that your last position can be counted much easier using Colorless Counting. Anytime you see there are 15 checkers on each side of the board you can ignore the colors of the checkers and simply compare the two sides. And in positions that are close to 15 on each side, you can make a slight adjustment and do the same thing. Much easier and faster. Also, take your approach to the next step. Once you have the difference, doing it your way, you might still need to know the total pip count for cube action, and it's clear that you now only have to count one side. So it's still just as efficient as counting both sides to start with counting the difference.

Compared to what you wrote on your book about the pip counting Marc, is this video going to add something? I read about it on your book, I liked the theory (all the book actually!), but I failed every single time I tried to put pip counting into practice. I don't know.. is there like.. daily exercises one could do to reach, step by step, that far away goal of being able to do the pip counting in a real life match, in no more than 1 minute? Thanks :)

Does anyone just keep track of the pip difference throughout the game by adding their moves to it and subtracting their opponent’s moves from it (or vice versa)? I just tried it in a couple of games and it doesn’t seem too hard. I’m just not yet sure whether it’s worth the effort in every game. *Edit:* Here’s a video on it from Nick Blasier: ruclips.net/video/XPCqp5n7jqk/видео.html
