To clarify point two further, you only add one pip extra when starting from the "24 point". For example, running ten spaces with an opening 64 and getting hit would add eleven pips, not ten. Alternatively, when a player’s checker is hit, add the number of the point as seen by that player’s opponent it was on when it was hit to the player’s pip count. For example, playing 64 to the opponent's 11 point and getting hit adds 11 pips.
Only watched 2 of your backgammon videos so far but I can already tell these will be very useful for many. I find them very easy to follow along with and look forward to seeing the rest now. I would not be surprised if this becomes among the best backgammon tutorial channels on YT.
Essential stuff and really necessary. Due to online play we dont learn pipcounting and find it hard, but with this great tips its much much easier. Cluster Counting and reference positions are really helpful. Thank you for this nice lesson.
@@BackgammonisBeautiful Hi! Thanks for responding, but the video didn't answer my question. My question is, how does the pip count decrease when you're bearing off checkers. For instance, if you bear off a 6 and a 2, will it be 8 pips or 2?

@@TheLapedratolson Taking one checker off the six-point and one off the two-point will reduce your pip count by eight pips.
@@BackgammonisBeautiful thank you! 💜
