There is two directions you can go with the routing process. The method you describe here is known as a " Chipping Cut ". The blade is removing the wood as it exits the cut. Very high potential for chipping and splintering. At times it takes a chips out deeper than your cutting profile. Very High potential for damaging your project and injurie. The other method and change of direction on the wood is known as a " Climbing Cut ". In this case the blade is removing the wood as it enters the cut having all the wood supporting the cut because the blade is pushing the wood, it's cutting, against its self. No chipping or tear out occurs during a Climbing Cut because as the blade leaves the cut the wood has already been removed. Almost no chance to damage the project and a lot safer to perform. The odds are much more on your side with a Climbing Cut. The only thing to watch out for is the router taking off because you are moving the router in the direction of the blade rotation. If you are not ready, it will take off. This is why when you perform this cut your arms must be parallel to the edge you are cutting. This way the router will have to move your whole body to be able to take off. Keep your arms straight and move the whole upper body as you are pulling towards you. Once you get the feel of doing a Climbing Cut, you will never go back to a Chipping Cut direction again and you will be able to continue doing the cut even with arms are perpendicular to edge.

You are correct and if it jumps off pulls away a inexperienced person can loose his or her grip and drop the router or try to grab ahold of it, and stick there figure in the router bit. This is why I didn't show it on this video but I will on the next one. But you are correct.

I did get the promotion. But I'm not sure about buying anything with Christmas around the corner. I did hint around to my wife about though since my birthday is in a few days

@@tommychristyjr9193 yeah we are in a very very tight spot but I work hard so my wife told me to get the brad nailer ONLY because I wanted the 6.0ah battery so bad. But 3 kids and Christmas coming and no income now for 3 weeks is going to set us back. Wish I knew I was getting no income for 3 weeks before I spent $200 but we will figure it out. You just keep those videos coming and can't wait until you hit 200 subs to see if I win the speaker lol.
