The Corsair solution is ghetto compared to Logitech. Large cables, specific spots for charging, lackluster software, and you can't change the mousepad. Does Corsair save settings on the mouse or in-software? Logitech will save your dpi settings on the mouse. I'm going to stick with my 703.
I've always been a big fan of Corsair, and generally haven't been a fan of Logitech products... But it's clear, even to me, that Logitech is the far superior product in this case..
Going to take more than this to make me change out my G502 Proteus Core at 5250 dpi setting. Same mouse for about 4 years now, I've only had to buy new feet pads from Logitech for about $10. I love the free-spin button for the mouse wheel, zooming in or scrolling menu's at light speed is awesome.
Thanks for your review; it helped with my decision. The Corsair is nice, but I already have a Qi charger for my phone and it seems kind of pointless to get a separate charging mouse pad. I feel that if I got the Corsair, I would probably just use my phone pad and keep my existing mouse pad. The lack of guidance on the Qi seems to be an design issue. Same problem I have for with a lot of Qi chargers for phones. I got a Qi charger with dual-coils and grips so I know there to put my phone. This seems some kind of feedback needed for the Corsair. I ended up getting the Logitech. I'm not a fan of proprietary tech, but so far my experience has been very good. I can game a couple hours and when I'm done the battery level stays up there and the next day it's charged up again. I don't need to remember to move the mouse to a specific location. I also like the soft mouse pad. However I'm not like the G903 very much; seems a bit front heavy.
I just purchased the dark core pro se mouse today and the software allows you to put a battery level indicator in the task bar. Like many others I really want an argb mouse pad that allows qi charging from any point on the pad.
In the Corsair software you can enable a battery status icon for the system tray. But It should have been on by default, and its not easy to find in the settings. It shows only low, medium, high, but that is better than having to open cue to see the status. Also the dark core mouse doesn't support lighting link to match other corsair rgb accessories.
What if you just get the Corsair mouse and use a standard Qi charger next to your mousepad? It could be either a stand, a flat one or even a lamp with a built-in charger. You might even be able to stick a small Qi charger under your mousepad. You get more flexibility with this option, although it's not as nice as the mouse being charged while playing. I also don't understand why the Razer version doesn't at least include optional batteries, because you might want to take the mouse with you at some point.
So Logictech system is proprietary but you didn't definitively say whether you tried the corsair/logitech mice on with other mouse mat, *does it work?*
Powerplay is a charging circuit under a logitech mousepad with the cloth being the G240 and the hard being the G440. You can put other mousepads on the circuit and the charging system will still work. Not so sure about the Corsair one tho.
Most likely no. I'm not an expert in how both system works, but judging from the fact that the corsair charger knows whether your mice is aligned perfectly with charging point or not, that means there is some kind of communication between the mice and the charger. If the protocol between 2 devices don't match, most likely it won't charge.
I'm rocking a G602 since 2015. Costed me 42 dollars new on Amazon, uses 2 AA batteries and I use recheargable that last for months. No other wireless mouse can beat it's price + convenience + ergonomics (fits "like a glove" to my medium-big sized hand) + materials + sensor + dpi settings + programable buttons. Best wireless mouse ever period!
I have the power play mouse pad now. But one problem that I have is that if there is an external speaker that I want to use, there is some sort of interference and the sound gets messed up while I'm touching the pad
I am not sure about the Corsair pad but we have had three of these. One was a replacement by Logitech. The issue is that the Powerplay will generate EMF interference while in the charging state, as indicated by the White LED on the pad receiver. I have the G903 Mouse, G910 Keyboard, and the Powerplay. I also use a Logitech MX Master 3 and Performance MX for productivity most of the time. I noticed the mouse cursor while using any other wireless mouse like the MX Master 3 or Performance MX was jittering, and I could not control it while the Powerplay was in the charge state! As soon as the charge state ended or I unplugged the Powerplay, the cursor would return to normal. As soon as the Powerplay returned to the charging state, the cursor would become erratic again! I also noticed the G903 generated a jittery mouse cursor while the Powerplay was in a charged state. It was not as bad as when using the MXM3, and I could select items, but the cursor was jittering until the charge state ended. So Logitech sent me a replacement Powerplay, and it had the same issue! Because I use my productivity Logitech mice the most, I would unplug the Powerplay pad to prevent the problem from occurring. When I wanted to game and use the G903 mouse, I would plug the Powerplay back in. Fast forward a few months, and I started to play Elden Ring on PC using an Xbox controller. I noticed intermittent issues with menu control. When trying to select or scroll through a menu using the Xbox controller, I could not choose anything, and it would jump around! At first, I thought this was a new game patch issue, but it continued to occur, and then I noticed the game was jittering slightly only on the monitor I was playing Elden Ring. When this issue remained after several patches, I discovered the Powerplay was causing the problem when it was in a charge state! Like the mice, once I disconnected the Powerplay USB cable or stopped charging, the issue would disappear. I connected the USB connection directly to my desktop and other USB ports, but the issue persists. All device Firmware and G-Hub software are up to date. I even purchased a third Powerplay pad from BestBuy, hoping Logitech may have changed something, but the issue continues even on the newest Powerplay. The Powerplay produces some EMF that impacts other wireless devices, speakers, and monitors. I am not sure how the Powerplay is affecting my monitor. Still, it is only occurring on the monitor I am playing Elden Ring on, leading me to conclude the interface is coming through the Xbox controller and maybe producing micro character movement, which looks like screen jittering on my monitor. I have contacted Logitech again regarding this issue. I have not seen many reviewers reporting this, but I believe this is because most owners only use a Logitech G Mouse, so they do not know the impact on other wireless devices. However, there are a few reviewers who, like me, use other wireless devices and are experiencing the same issue. Edit: I have noticed my Panasonic wireless home phone has had interference for some time now. This wasn't always the case and If I move away from my desk with the Powerplay it goes away! It just occurred to me that the Powerplay might also be impacting this phone. Sure enough, if I unplug the Powerplay mouse pad all my home phone interference goes away! There is a Powerplay Charging Enable option in the G Hub Powerplay options section that will only work with Powerplay Firmware 7.1.11. G Hub will NOT update the Powerplay Firmware through the built-in update process, and you have to do this manually to update the Fireware to 7.1.11 to enable this option! With no help from Logitech support, I think I figured out a fix. You have to use the Logitech POWERPLAY Wireless Charging System Update Tool under downloads for the Powerplay device to actually update the Powerplay Firmware to version 7.1.11 to get the option to disable. Powerplay Charging! You can now disable Powerplay Charging until required, and it will not impact other devices. I am still checking this works and will update later. Good luck. Peterson Family
It's going to be a dificult dessition for me, I am going to get a mause SOON, and I like Logitech but I have a Phone That can be charge with QI, soo I may get the Corsair. What do you think?
I've just picked up the G703 and the Power Play recently, I would've liked the QI charging in the Power Play to charge my phone, but I don't need it, and I just came from a M65 Corsair which the buttons wore out on (cosmetically), so I couldn't give Corsair another go straight away. I'm an old fan of the Logitech G7, I had 2, so it's great to go back to Logitech with these products.
I think a cut in your table and submerging a qi charger there could be a nice way of handling this wireless charging too. Or maybe a table with built in qi charge option on the whole/most of the surface in the future.
Do you recommend a Corsair one with Qi Standard for charging Qi Enabled Smartphones like Galaxy or iPhone? I'm looking to buy it mainly to charge my phone.
Is there a reason there are no mice supporting *both* Bluetooth *and* Qi charging? I must be missing something because I can't find these. Do you have some insight into this?
since qi works because of induction, you could teoretically try placing a soft mousepad over it and it should work just fine, for the charging does not work through physical contact but rather on a similar to a magnetic field thingy. I have a question doe. Could you charge a phone using the corsair mousepad? because i would buy it just for the sake of a convenient charger that takes technically no space.
I have just purchased the G703 , I am finding that if I lift the mouse off the mouse mat even a fraction of a mm the mouse doesn't move is this normal? Im wondering if iv purchased a faulty one as all other mice I have had can read at at least 5mm of the mat with out issue, its making this mouse impossible to use for gaming .thanks
I still don't understand about that global standard for that Logitech mousepad for not being able to buy in Canada or some other country. Can someone please explain.
I got the g903 loooove it but the mouse pad has been sold out everywhere. also the powerplay pad protects against overcharging but cutting off the charge at 80something percent and starting it at 30ish percent i think so I'm hoping this will help longevity by a lot.
I bought the dark core and I love the way it feels, but die to it being bulky pressing the extra buttons intended for your thumb requires adjustments, and then those 2 at the top. So I ended up trying the steel series 600 being that it's much smaller and I like it, but as a wired. Mouse I ran into an issue I've never encountered and that is that it will go unresponsive leading to me dying while gaming and this has been within a week of having it so today I will go pick up a g703, and return the steel series mouse.
It's crazy at how expensive the PowerPlay on where I live because their official store doesn't sell it. The CHEAPEST I could find was like around $150 before courier fees.
Before all this came out, I got the G403, but more for the fact it was both wired and wireless ;) Charging has gotten better over time, I just like redundancy xD Read an article that you can use the G403 with the mat, but it boils down to would you rather spend the money for the money, or just plug in the mouse every now and then, AND still use it, while charging for under 2 hrs ;)
Does any of this come in white? I have a white theme going on... And that new Glorious Model O looks cool and isn't expensive for when I play shooters....
Have had the logitech 703 with the powerplay mat for 2 years now and absolutely love it. The ability to absolutely never have to even think about my mouse charging is incredible. They just REALLY need to make a bigger pad. Double the size and i'll play $200 for it. gogo
Will the Corsair mouse charge on any Qi charger? I do not need another mouse pad and I have a Qi charger for iPhone 11. The idea of this technology looks great but is not wallet friendly.
I purchased the Corsair pad before the Logitech was available. While working or gaming i have my phone sitting on the QI charger so when i'm done, i pick up my fully charged phone and replace it with my mouse. I've never run out of charge in either of my devices when doing this. I've also had issues some issues with my corsair mouse scroll wheel failing multiple times. So by using the corsair pad, i'm free to use another mouse form another brand. The Logitech concept is cool. But the corsair is way more versatile and flexible.
The normal G403 costs 90$( CAD) amd battery lasts 22hours with lights. Weighs less then both of these. This mousepad alone costs more money. Is it really such a big deal to charge ur mouse once every few days?
I was seriously considering corsairs option, but I didn't realize it's a hard surface. I do really like that with Logitech you have the option of hard or soft
the forward/mouse 5 button on the corsair dark core rgb is positioned too far forward...so awkward to press :c i ended up returning mine for that reason, and the fact that the sensor kept cutting out occasionally :c these issues don't happen with my Logitech G900 or G403...guess im sticking with Logitech for a while.
Can the Qi charge through another layer of mousepad? (I'm thinking an MM1000 mousemat under an extended mousepad, where the charging spot is directly under the dongle that is plugged to a wireless keyboard, theoretically keeping the keyboard charged)
The logitech implementation sounds like it makes a lot more sense. If it supported Qi charing as well it would be dope if we could just put a Qi powered phone anywhere on the mat and start charging regardless of location.
The side buttons on the dark core are so bad. It's nearly impossible to use all 3 buttons because of the arrangement. Also, the forward and back are a rocker, so they can't both register at once if you need that (if you can even physically make that work due to the middle button being in the way).
@hardwarecanucks The internet would have me believe that the Powerplay also works with the wireless G403, even though Logitech doesn’t advertise it. Did you ever test it?
My vote go to powerplay, while it is proprietary and can only be used with Logitech, have the mouse pad that charge mean smaller battery can be used in the wireless which will make lightweight gaming mouse that suitable for Fps while doesn't concern of battery running out
I'm just wondering if putting the PowerPlay puck into wireless G403(it has a "puck slot") would make it charge or not. Isn't the puck just a wireless charging module that transfers the power from the mousepad to the battery? Dimitri, I hope you'll read this! :)
makwikus The problem is that they didn't designed it with a wireless charging receiver in the first place. Probably they didn't even had Power Play in mind at the time they built the 403
I have the power play and it's superior for two reasons 1.the mouse is always charging, even in use 2 you can just get up and walk away as long as the mouse is on the mat you're fine. If you have to put the mouse in a particular spot what's the advantage of the $79 mouse mat? Why not just get a $3 qi dock from ebay
Wireless mouses with cables crossing the desk... what's the point? The only thing they have to do is use standard NFC on the mouses, make a charging mat big enough for your phone, mouse, smartwatch or whatever that you can put where the monitor is and that's it. You can use the mouse anywhere across the desk, use whatever mouse pad you want, any size, and when battery is low at night just place it where your phone is charging...
It's also all about what suits you best I guess, I've always used Logitech mouses and keyboards and everytime I try something different, it just feels weird...so I'd just stick to what I know I guess . In my pc-setups I've used corsair parts for years and will also never change that, just too bad these peripherals are not suited for me , would have been nice though.
Wireless mouse for laptop aka travel and wired mouse for desktop is my prefered setup. So yeah I have a DeathAdder 3.5G from 2010 and a Razer Atheris for laptop. They both work perfectly fine but the Razer Atheris makes the DeathAdder feel sluggish now since it has higher DPI settings. So I am thinking of grabbing a Basilisk to replace the Death Adder.
In some ways i like how you can recharge the battery without having to buy AA or AAA batteries. But then again there's still going to be a wire for recharging your mouse and will be pretty annoying when your battery power runs out when your in-game and you have to go find the charger then also having to play wired. I'm thinking of going for the logitech g603 but i still like the idea of the g900 being rechargeable. I'm not sure :/
Obviously this video is pretty old now. But I have the dark core RGB SE and use a cheap anker QI charging pad I bought for $15. Just put it on the stand when I'm ready for bed. If I forget to charge it? No big deal it last 5-7 days on average. So with the sale price of $65 for the mouse and the $15 on the charging mat/pad/stand thing, I have a wireless mouse that I never have to plug in for a grand total of $80. Vs a G502 light speed for $100+ power play for $115 on amazon right now coming out to $215. Almost 250% more money.
Just get a G603. I put one battery in ('cause 2 was to heavy for my taste) at it lasted 5 months of heavy daily use. That's almost no hassle on the charging part and you don't have that mouse pad cable on your desk.
Also a pro to logitechs solution: The qi charging puk is also compatible with older mice, e.g. G403. I think it will be sold seperatly as well. I dont think corsairs option is that good. Charging while using is the only really useful thing there. Maybe sometime soon, they will design a cordless keyboard, and a really big cahrging pad on which both can be charged :D
I dont see the point in corsairs option. If you cant play and charge at the same time then its just a regular wireless mouse

Or the mouse LED could change for a second as it charges
I feel like it's a bit unnecessary and would just add to the cost, which I doubt Corsair wants to do. Haptic feedback would be really cool though.

It’d be fucking annoying to constantly have to put the mouse to the corner of mousepad, especially if the battery ran low during a fast-paced (in which case it’d literally be unusable). It’s a usability issue, and it defeats the purpose of a charging mousepad.
@@Frawt That's a problem with the mousepad. Not the mouse. Just get a better Qi mousepad and your problems are solved.
@@sammiches6859 the dark core lasts for 24 hours which is long enough for 99% of people in one session and if you dont want to use that mouse pad you can just get a 10$ qi charger to charge the mouse, which then makes it significantly cheaper than the Logitech option
5 years have passed and they still don't provide wireless charging for keyboards.
The Corsair solution is ghetto compared to Logitech. Large cables, specific spots for charging, lackluster software, and you can't change the mousepad. Does Corsair save settings on the mouse or in-software? Logitech will save your dpi settings on the mouse. I'm going to stick with my 703.
have the g903 high five!!
Large cables look nicer
In the past, we imagined the future to have flying cars.
Instead, we have keyboards being charged by mouse mats
G502 Lightspeed came out a year after this video aired. It is also fully compatible with the Powerplay mousepad.
The phone doesn't need to be on the mouse mat with that dongle though, so that negative is bit of a null point.
I think the dongle is pretty dumb. If you're plugging something into your phone every time you charge it, it might as well be a cable...
@@NicksStuff but it dont have cable
I think you forgot to put the Phanteks Halos link in description..
Love my Logitech PowerPlay & G903 setup. I highly recommend it!
I just purchased the dark core pro se mouse today and the software allows you to put a battery level indicator in the task bar. Like many others I really want an argb mouse pad that allows qi charging from any point on the pad.
Also forgot to mention that the Powerplay can also work as a unifying receiver for Logitech wireless items
I got the G703 and I love it! However, I have to plug it in every few days as the charge can't seem to keep up wirelessly even with the leds off.
Wait, why is the dark rock 3 included into this review?
Good luck.

I'm looking to buy it mainly to charge my phone.
i personally prefer the corsair dark core, but thats my opinion. btw how long does it take to charge both?
Why at that point just charge it with a cable, at least then you can use the mouse
I keep seeing reviews of the charging.. where can I find a comparison of the two mice, which one is the better mouse?
I can't find a place to actually buy the corsair dark core rgb se anywhere. everywhere says sold out or coming soon
Best buy had them on shelves last time I was there but they didn't have the qi version or the mousepad.
yeah i want the qi version. haven't been on amazon or best buy in US for Weeks
The mousepad is under the page for their rgb one I think. Still no idea where to get the charging mouse though.
Do the Halos do rgb? I heard they only do 1 color at a time.
Also a slight pro is that the Logitech g703 is one of the products you can get custom painted on colorware which I'm planning to do.
Still wondering why you didn't include the Alienware 34" Ultrawide in your Best of the Ultrawides video.
Can you even put up a review of lexip gaming mouse that is presently available in kickstarter
Is there any way to charge the corsair dark core with a cable? Since I don't wanna give up my massive hyper fury XL mousematt
Can someone please explain.
the darkcore has a battery indicator when you plug it in. there are 3 LED lights on the side
did you try the mouse pad asus rog balteus?
I got the g903 loooove it but the mouse pad has been sold out everywhere. also the powerplay pad protects against overcharging but cutting off the charge at 80something percent and starting it at 30ish percent i think so I'm hoping this will help longevity by a lot.
Dose anyone know if the Logitech mat will be in Canada or when it will
hi dmitry, just want to know, what is your favourite mousepad?
how come i can't find the dark core rgb se in amazon? if i can't find it on amazon, it's most likely i won't find it any other consumer websites, no?
I bought the dark core and I love the way it feels, but die to it being bulky pressing the extra buttons intended for your thumb requires adjustments, and then those 2 at the top. So I ended up trying the steel series 600 being that it's much smaller and I like it, but as a wired. Mouse I ran into an issue I've never encountered and that is that it will go unresponsive leading to me dying while gaming and this has been within a week of having it so today I will go pick up a g703, and return the steel series mouse.
Is there a USA release date for the Dark Core SE ?
It's crazy at how expensive the PowerPlay on where I live because their official store doesn't sell it. The CHEAPEST I could find was like around $150 before courier fees.
but dont you think it will have some health issue to your wrist ?
Can you use the Logitech mouse with the corsair mouse pad including the charging?
Before all this came out, I got the G403, but more for the fact it was both wired and wireless ;) Charging has gotten better over time, I just like redundancy xD
Read an article that you can use the G403 with the mat, but it boils down to would you rather spend the money for the money, or just plug in the mouse every now and then, AND still use it, while charging for under 2 hrs ;)
Does any of this come in white? I have a white theme going on... And that new Glorious Model O looks cool and isn't expensive for when I play shooters....
do they charge if the pc is shut down? are they connected to an outlet?
Have had the logitech 703 with the powerplay mat for 2 years now and absolutely love it. The ability to absolutely never have to even think about my mouse charging is incredible. They just REALLY need to make a bigger pad. Double the size and i'll play $200 for it. gogo
Will the Corsair mouse charge on any Qi charger? I do not need another mouse pad and I have a Qi charger for iPhone 11. The idea of this technology looks great but is not wallet friendly.
So, Corsair Dark Core RGB SE can be charged by using any Qi charger available in the market?
Can you charge your phone (Samsung Galaxy S9 for me) with the logitech mouse pad wireless?
the forward/mouse 5 button on the corsair dark core rgb is positioned too far forward...so awkward to press :c i ended up returning mine for that reason, and the fact that the sensor kept cutting out occasionally :c
these issues don't happen with my Logitech G900 or G403...guess im sticking with Logitech for a while.
Can you cross charge ? I am sure you can , but could you use the logitec on the corsair
Can the Qi charge through another layer of mousepad? (I'm thinking an MM1000 mousemat under an extended mousepad, where the charging spot is directly under the dongle that is plugged to a wireless keyboard, theoretically keeping the keyboard charged)
Are we going to get a review of the K63 wireless sometime?
The logitech implementation sounds like it makes a lot more sense. If it supported Qi charing as well it would be dope if we could just put a Qi powered phone anywhere on the mat and start charging regardless of location.
The side buttons on the dark core are so bad. It's nearly impossible to use all 3 buttons because of the arrangement. Also, the forward and back are a rocker, so they can't both register at once if you need that (if you can even physically make that work due to the middle button being in the way).
Logitech g703 or g403 wireless costs the same? :O
@hardwarecanucks The internet would have me believe that the Powerplay also works with the wireless G403, even though Logitech doesn’t advertise it. Did you ever test it?
can all mice work for these mouse pads or are there specific ones?
For the corsair one. The mouse has to be able to charge using the qi protocol. For logitech the mouse has to use the powerplay protocol to charge.
?did you just say, the qi standatrt that apple implemented? did apple make the ring, I don't think they were first with qi charging.
Does the mouse charge with a generic wireless qi charger ?
My vote go to powerplay, while it is proprietary and can only be used with Logitech, have the mouse pad that charge mean smaller battery can be used in the wireless which will make lightweight gaming mouse that suitable for Fps while doesn't concern of battery running out
An excellent comparison vlog, thank you!
What's your windows mouse pointer setting at when you use 400 dpi? I use 6/11 and 24-2600 dpi -.-
Is the G703 a G403 with a charging puck included? They look the same.
Yeah, for G703. But not for G403, it doesn't work with the Power Play.
I'm just wondering if putting the PowerPlay puck into wireless G403(it has a "puck slot") would make it charge or not. Isn't the puck just a wireless charging module that transfers the power from the mousepad to the battery?
Dimitri, I hope you'll read this! :)
makwikus G403 just has a weight compartment there, unfortunately only the 2 mice (903 and 703) are compatible right now
Leonhart So the charging puck won't fit? The diameter is different? Some kind of connectors are definitely there.
makwikus The problem is that they didn't designed it with a wireless charging receiver in the first place. Probably they didn't even had Power Play in mind at the time they built the 403
Can the Corsair mouse be used and charged at the same time?
Hey Dmitry, did you shoot in DCI? 17:9?
Any mmo mice with qi charging? That would be my pick.
Watching on my TV and having strange black croping frame around video. Anyone has a same problem
Can corsair mm1000 charge logitec G903 or G703 without dongle?
Wireless mouse for laptop aka travel and wired mouse for desktop is my prefered setup. So yeah I have a DeathAdder 3.5G from 2010 and a Razer Atheris for laptop. They both work perfectly fine but the Razer Atheris makes the DeathAdder feel sluggish now since it has higher DPI settings. So I am thinking of grabbing a Basilisk to replace the Death Adder.
To me wireless mouse is about eliminating wires from the table.
Same
Exactly, if you have to add the wire for the charging, than just have a wired mouse. Seriously... it makes no sens to me.
You are obviously missing the entire point of the product here. You should think about it real hard.
Then you're not the target demographic, move along...
I'm not sure :/
can i charge the dark core SE in logitech powerplay?
For pho es I dont see the point of that dongle since they have had wireless chargu g since 2013
Obviously this video is pretty old now.
Seems pretty cool however the Logitech PowerPlay isn't available in Canada yet so.....
Which Camera do u use to record?
damn i didn't know you can't get the power play in Canada... How did you get it :P? From the US ?
Also a pro to logitechs solution:
The qi charging puk is also compatible with older mice, e.g. G403.
I think it will be sold seperatly as well.
I dont think corsairs option is that good. Charging while using is the only really useful thing there. Maybe sometime soon, they will design a cordless keyboard, and a really big cahrging pad on which both can be charged :D
Where did you get your jacket?
