We all know why they are going after Trump. It is because he is different and relatable. He is not your "typical politician" and I think he will win again. But hey, let's pretend we don't.
These are sham prosecutions/cases. I’m a senior attorney at the law firm that selects which democratic candidate will be chosen “elected” when and where. This is something we disagree with.
There are certain rules you have to follow as a president and if you risk leaking highly secret documents to other countries thats very dangerous for the US. The democratic system isn't nearly as democratic as in other western states by the way according to some experts.
Lock him up... that's the answer on what to do if he did anything illegal.... bet your bottom dollar if it were any of us we'd be hauled away to a black site if we kept any highly sensitive material with us.
I don't understand, each charge was for a crime. That would be 34 crimes, each in the 1st degree. Trump has not been found guilty for any of them, but he has been charged for 34 crimes.
The thing that bothers me most is the “respect” given to a former president. If anything, someone in the most powerful jobs in the world should be more liable to criminal investigation, not less. The idea that we waited until he didn’t have access to enormous power to see if he was a criminal or not blows my mind. Respect for the office shouldn’t protect you from punishment when you’re the one denigrating that office in the first place.
I have a genuine question: these matters usually take years of back and forth wranglings, during which Trump could continue running for President (under the presumption of innocence) and if he wins, he can then take advantage of immunity to escape any prosecution... is that a possibility?
That’s very much a possibility, and many think that he wouldn’t be attempting to run again at all were it not for that potential chance at stalling legal action.
It’s gonna be a witch hunt when they hunt him down and push him off the cliff only for him to fly on his broom off into the night to win the 2024 election 😂
Their simplified walk through of the legal process didn't mention that the vast majority of all criminal cases get settled before trial. Yes, settlement can include a prison sentence, but there are no violent crimes here. There is no version of this story that ends with a prison sentence.
So weird is the persons pressing the issue... and the area that they can and will destroy all evidence other than the ones against him. The entire Democratic side have been inside trading.
The narcissists prayer: That didn't happen. And if it did, it wasn't that bad. And if it was, that's not a big deal. And if it is, that's not my fault. And if it was, I didn't mean it. And if I did, *YOU DESERVED IT.*
Trump will surely argue that the votes were stolen *from him* and that he was just saying that recovering 11,780 of the votes stolen from him would be enough to restore justice.
It seemed to work till Trump tried to overturn it. Since then his actions have created mistrust . I think that is one of the worst effects of this whole sorry saga .
Someone who spends their career following and writing on a topic is an expert. It's like how a "professional" is technically someone who gets paid to do something.
Severity wise the NY case doesn’t compare. But his lawyer Michael C has already been to prison because the case was so solid. Trump is certainly taking the case seriously.
Wish all political leaders would be investigated as throughly as Trump is right now cause Trump probably as more on him because he's made some enemies.
He threatens people like a mafia boss. Mocking the democratic system through bribery and threats should be one of the highest criminal sentence in a democracy. As many have said, non elected people go to jail for far less than that.
"now that hes out of office its time to look into it" the whole premise for our judicial system is that noone is above it, but obviously thats not true if theres conditions before you can even start looking into it
From France, I just want to reiterate my sincere admiration for American democracy and my deep love for your People. You are able to sack, indict and sentence your criminal ruling elite without ever stepping away from constitutional democracy.
Another thing that should be noted is that during grand jury proceedings the general rules of evidence are not applicable. That means a lot of the stuff you can present to a grand jury would be excluded from trial. Also the defendant does not get to make their case to a grand jury, they only hear one side of the argument, the prosecutors.
Weird way to do things, grand juries are unique to the american system, their role is usually played by a judge or independent prosecutor in other countries.
One thing to remember, anything they get away with doing to President Trump, they could probably get away with doing to you, or maybe your favorite politician. Ya always gotta be careful what ya wish for. F J B

Trumps the tip of a very large iceberg that’s has no plan of melting anytime soon
@@PatrickOnPoint Sorry to say. You might be right. May they remain a minority.
We all know why they are going after Trump. It is because he is different and relatable. He is not your "typical politician" and I think he will win again. But hey, let's pretend we don't.
This is what you get, when you let daddy's little boy run the whole country!

This should be done on every election not just Trump. This just reminds us that we are missing a lot of information.
These are sham prosecutions/cases. I’m a senior attorney at the law firm that selects which democratic candidate will be chosen “elected” when and where.
This is something we disagree with.
Any politician from any party who violates the law should be charged, yes. It's not a zero sum game. We can go after members of both parties. :D
As an Indian I'm concerned about the decline of democracy in USA and use of authorities and media as weapon against political leaders
There are certain rules you have to follow as a president and if you risk leaking highly secret documents to other countries thats very dangerous for the US. The democratic system isn't nearly as democratic as in other western states by the way according to some experts.
Trump did indeed weaponize the system against political leaders.

34 charges, not crimes
I don't understand, each charge was for a crime. That would be 34 crimes, each in the 1st degree. Trump has not been found guilty for any of them, but he has been charged for 34 crimes.
flimsy charges, will get dismissed

Weirder things have happened in the last five years.
That’s very much a possibility, and many think that he wouldn’t be attempting to run again at all were it not for that potential chance at stalling legal action.
They'll start in over again when he leaves office

The Georgia phone call is cut and dry.
Trump will surely argue that the votes were stolen *from him* and that he was just saying that recovering 11,780 of the votes stolen from him would be enough to restore justice.

How about caring about all investigations held against our political leaders. Holding one accountable and not the other is political discrimination.

@@Tiwack01 not all states utilize them the same. Typically older/northeastern states use Grand Juries more frequently than newer/western states.
