      No, this was a little getaway trip for us with just the truck and to scout out the area for the future. See if there are nice spots to bring our fifth wheel.

    Ray, it's great to watch your older videos, before this Covid nightmare. When times were good. People smiled at each other shook hands and were just genuinely happy. God I hope we get back to those days. Thanks for the memories. Cheers from Parksville.🍻

    This video actually has me missing waiting for the ferry in Horseshoe Bay. When we weren't locked down, it was kind of a nice way to spend a summer afternoon. Get your car in line, walk over to a restaurant, and have a meal while enjoying the sunshine and the view. There are worse ways to wait your turn! :)

    Thank you for showing us this ferry tale video. It was quite spectacular, as I have never been near BC. Also, we got to see the rare glimpse of Anne in front of a lens.

    Kind of neat being a tourist in your home area. Revisiting childhood places. Did that once on a return trip to San Diego many years ago.

    We have been loving these videos on the ferries! Have you ever put out a video on what a newbie should expect taking ferries and the process to book a ferry etc? That would be something that we would be interested in. Thanks for sharing.

    Loved the beachcombers too. I wish they had preserved nick and relic's boats there. I asked about them when I was there years ago. Apparently relics boat was still working going after logs and nicks was in a barn some where.

      I saw Nick's Persephone boat right next to Molly's Reach in a little park. Looks like it was restored and put on display - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persephone_(tugboat)

    So quaint! The best of both worlds with the mountains and ocean. Is it rainy like Seattle? And temperate!

    • @LoveYourRV
      @LoveYourRV  5 лет назад +1

      Yes, much like Seattle, rainy winters and sunny summers, very little freezing or snowfall.

    Makes me want to hook up and haul my trailer out to the Island, but I'd have to make it worth while and stay more than a week. How much do you think it would cost to get a truck and 31 foot trailer onto BC Ferries?

    • @LoveYourRV
      @LoveYourRV  5 лет назад +1

      Ferries are expensive. To go to the main Vancouver Island they charge you both ways, some of the smaller Islands the charge is one way and free to come back.
      For the BC mainland to Vancouver Island. The truck and 2 people usually cost close to $100 Canadian then after 20 feet, they charge $6.50 per extra foot. During the busy season, they often have certain days that are 50% off the extra length cost on select runs. www.bcferries.com/promotions/bring-it-all.html
      We usually take the Port Angeles to Victoria ferry with our rig. To give you an idea it costs us around $225 USD which is currently close to $300 Canadian one way.

    the ferry that crashed into the pleasure boats, was the Queen of Oak Bay, & no it was not the brakes, because the vessel lost power!

      The way I heard it the business is but not the land or building. $379,000 for the 10-year lease plus $9500 property taxes a year. A local lady told me it might be a tough go of it. She was saying its really hard to get staff for restaurants these days. Says its become too expensive to live there.
