- As any boater knows, the weather plans everything so today we're leaving Bowen Island, B.C. to check out Gibson's Marina and Village Centre while we wait for a good weather window to cross the Strait of Georgia. While we didn't initially like what we saw after pulling into our slip, we ended up enjoying all that the town has to offer during our quick stop here. It's probably a GREAT place during the summer months, so we'll likely be back soon when the sun decides to shine on the Sunshine Coast!
Enjoy!

A great way to annoy coasters is say “Gibson” lol. They hate it. I do love the Sunshine Coast though. Not perfect but definitely has its charm.
Is Molly's beach there
Gibsons always brings back memories of the Beachcombers
Those little loops it better to just feed your lines through and tie back on your boat, its better than creating a big 💩on the dock.
Beautiful place, million dollar homes, no rentals, no parking, constant water restrictions, bike lanes to nowhere, roads to nowhere, no doctors, price gouging, Don't flush your toilet!!
Is the sound we here of your engine on video an accurate reflection of the sound we would here if we were aboard?
If you go down past Molly's Reach and turn left along the water, there is a lovely little path. I love to walk along there. Sully would love it too.
Joanie Mitchell has a place just up the road near Pender Harbour.
Ya Gibsons ....you got it.....meh
Ya can't take a ferry from Vancouver Island to Gibson's
You wascally Wabit
Don't feel bad, its easy to negatively judge a book by its cover when its all tattered and torn, oh and no boat cleats on the dock and then they try to sell them in the shop!!
Gibsons, where I live now, the "Sausalito" of the Vancouver area. My 30' Catalina, Coriolis is on Bravo dock. Gibsons is, always a good place to shelter waiting for good weather to cross the Straits. I played a Fisherman in the Hallmark Movie, " All Summer long" , and an Antique shopper in " Godwink Christmas". Everything I need is within walking distance, only drive my truck 3 out of 7 days a week.
Always of course love you guys be safe out there love you much be careful so good and be happy and prosperous
Power On Elizabeth! All is well!
Nice
The weather's a big deal!! Seems like there's sooo much cloudiness...
Too bad you didn’t do more research before heading out off your awesome boat. You missed out on eating rainbow colored ‘sexy Mexy’ food and savoring the amazing craft cocktails of Lunitas Mexican Eatery. Smitty’s Oyster House is crazy. Delicious and fun next door to Lunitas. Just next to the pier, just down from Molly’s Reach. The new owner of Molly’s also owns Drift which is always great. Best muffins I’ve ever had are at Black Bean Cafe. Ridiculously special baked goods. Gibsons Public Market is amazing. Beachcomber Coffee is awesome. Wow. Vancouver people pay the one way Ferry price regularly so they can be regulars at Lunitas and other treasures there.
very grey n dark november to march :(
I dont get why locals feel its necessary to tell the world what we have. What makes it amazing is the world isnt here. All the obvious gems like smugglers are already over run. Favorite lakes and easy accessible gems are loosing there charm with the crowds. This years fires in the interior has caused the coast to be bombarded with aggressive fast paced yahoo tourists. There are good things from that aswell. Very fun trendy hip craftbeer bars and restaurants. Or trendy hip mountian bike riders. Im just greedy and hope the masses dont discover my secret gems. Unfortunatly i feel like a dumb dodoos about to become extinct and replaced with the new
