@shirleylangton7967 it's amazingly beautiful, BUT the long-term residents are in a full-time road rage..idk why. But there are a lot of new people now and they are the chaty nice, none murderous ones...and yes for a small town we're had more than our quota of murders.
@@josephforest7605everything here is at least 25% more expensive than on the mainland. Also locals “seem to operate lot of businesses purely in cash” , lots of vendors at farmers markets only accept cash, it is getting more common in small stores to just tap, but you will see people paying $300 for groceries in cash, something you don’t see on the mainland.
Me too, in the early 70ies. Now I live there and lots has changed ever since. Most to the hegative, unfortunately. You gotta be rich, otherwise stay away.
Those “ workboats “ are called tugboats. I have never heard the term “ workboat”. As well, those people aren’t paddle surfing, they are paddle boarding. Who did the research for this?
You think that's bad research, how about when they showed horseshoe Bay on a map and highlighted squamish? I mean workboat, hey maybe that's regional dialect somewhere, but damn surely they can look at a map

India is up there on the list. China purchased most of B.C. years ago.Not many Canadian born or indigenous that actually are home or land owners. We were sold old.
You have no idea how deeply offensive it is as a person born and raised on the sunshine coast for you to call us part of Vancouver gentrification is one thing we’re not part of Vancouver change the title people are just gonna keep being offended and are going to keep get on your case
i lived in gibsons in the 90s. loved it. great place to live if you like a nice swim at dinnertime in the summer. hiking. etc
Our city , Vancouver is beautiful❤
Amazing Canada.
Paradise.
😅
An expensive one. So therefore, not paradise.
Us city folk usually never see any farther than the city's edge. Poverty. Grateful for this video to experience the cinematography.
THIS IS A NICE PLACE TO LIVE HERE.
....only if you are a millionaire
There are Water bans every summer resulting in people being unable to water their gardens, like all places the Sunshine Coast has it pros & cons.
And don’t even get me started on BC Ferries
These are extremely well done. I live in BC and didn't know half of what they talked about.
Wow, beautiful. Never had a chance to go up the Sunshine Coast yet. Looks like it would be really worth the trip!😁😁
It is an amazing place and people are lovely, chatty small town folks (in the best possible way)

If I win the lottery somewhere I would love to live
The west coast is a great place all the way to Tofino on west Vancouver Island.
Harvesting??? Sounds better than clearcutting!! Ohhh how it all changes day by day!
The Sunshine Coast certainly isn’t Vancouvers.
U seem like a miserable person lmao
Where do you vote for? Vancouver. Who does all your road maintenance? Capilano road services. Also Vancouvers. So huh??????
@@nh4202520 do they do the road service all the way to Lund ???
I LOVE living in Davis Bay, Gibsons and Sechelt. Bring water if you visit, and lots of cash.
???
Exactly, for those that don’t know BC stands for BRING CASH!

?? Water ? Cash I get but water? I don't get it. 🖖💝
The title is incorrect. It should be "British Columbia's Sunshine Coast"
Agreed
Yes we have the Sunshine Coast in Queensland Australia it’s sunshine all year & long sand beaches
Please protect place
It is British Columbia's Sunshine Coast, not Vancouver's!

this is the first time I've heard of the beachcombers series

they covered Powell river for about 30 seconds..im guessing they stopped by town and was treated rudely.
Why wouldn’t they mention the huge gravel mine in Sechelt?
largest in North America

Other than the water shortages is there any other major concerns for this area?
Was this video paid for by the logging industry?

The locals don't want tourists😅 there
Nice place but they don’t show the devastation caused by logging I notice .

Using temporary foreign workers in his reservoir underwater log recovery operations sawmill. Why not use locals?

Vancouver had a better transit system 100 years ago. LOL
Sea or lake?
It’s the Pacific Ocean … I live just south of here
@@landlice48 thank u 💐
Both.
Straight of Georgia(now called the Salish Sea) is a section of Pacific Ocean between the Vancouver island and the mainland
Thank u
Best place in Canada by a mile. The rest are just a mass frozen land!
Drone footage gets boring sometimes….
Way too,any commercials. Lost interest in seeing all the commercials.
Pollution is a good thing? Sniffing that smoke is not good.
It’s steam.
Don’t worry it is shutting down
This voice-over guy has that same forced-velvety voice as Trudeau, how pretentious. Right next door to vocal fry.
What pretentious voice!
It’s a terrible place, stay away, ferry system is useless
Never going back
Just the worst. All of BC is really. Stop coming. Definitely stop buying property here, too. Nothing to see up here, everyone.
All tourists should stay away
😮 GROSS PLACE. Woodchip ,logging, mining, semis rippin down the roads constantly.
Way better places than that !😊
Shame its all lost
❤❤❤
