Before you do the second part of the transmission fill, don't forget to cycle the transmission through the gears as gets up to temp! This gets fluid into all the passages and ensures you get the proper fill level.

Guys, a tip I have found is get a ratcheting wrench and an extension, go from the outer side of the cat to help you screw the fill bolt back in. Helps a lot from getting burned. That bolt sucks putting back in even with a welding glove if you do it by hand. First time I realized I could get my electric ratchet in there with in extension it helps tremendously, plus it’s doesn’t have enough power to cross thread especially if you take it slow.

Absolutely outstanding video, where did you get the upgraded transmission filter and what’s the name of it?

Like the new vid! I know I’m going to be in the same situation you are in a few weeks, so the vid you did is great! That leak is going to be a big question, mine has not started to leak yet. But for going over bumps my sport does have a noticeable clunk both on the front and rear. I think it might be the lower control arms bc it also tends to sway when going over those bumps, and mine has never been replaced and they are known to go out about a 100k or so. But I’m interested to see what you find out on yours, hopefully nothing to hard! Keep it up!

Glad you enjoyed it! I won't spoil anything about the leak, but it shouldn't be anything you'll have to worry about!
Regarding the clunking, do you it when you brake too? If not it may be the shocks.

No mine does not clunk when slowing down, but I did just replace my tries bc it had uneven wear which sorta points to lower control arms. But it is possible that the shocks are bad sense the air "springs" and shocks are together and shocks do go bad in side of the air strut. But I guess it will be interesting to find out, and I'll be sure to watch your video about it. Also do you think you might be able to jack up the one of the side wheels and then release it to see if anything sifts or clunks, Ive seen it being done a few times but your more of an expert then me, so its just a thought. Your channel is by far my favorite channel to watch and learn about stuff, so I can't wait to see what you do! @@frenchineer

I think bushings will need to be done in the near future on this truck - signs of wear are still minimal so it's not urgent. I'll have to choose between replacing the bushings (cheaper) or getting a whole control arm assembly (easier).
I'm glad to hear you enjoy the channel! I hope you'll like the upcoming projects too!

That leak is scary. If it’s not the collar or the pan, there’s not much left that isn’t crazy expensive or labor intensive. And now the air suspension is playing up?!

Did you cycle through the gears while filling the transmission? Did you reset the adaptation values after the oil change?
The clonks could be the control arms. I doubt it's the shocks.

Good question! Yes, I did cycle through the gears while getting the transmission up to temp. I didn't reset the adaption values, since the service manual doesn't require it. (It did end up being done later as part of what was required to fix the leak in that area).
Stay tuned for the upcoming video to see what the clunks were coming from!
