    Omigosh when I made my bloomers, wearing them was a GAME CHANGER. Now I feel naked without them!!

    Thank you so much for this! I was looking for bloomers to wear under my dresses! Usually it’s bike shorts for everyday dresses but for EGL I really wanted bloomers!

    I made some Victorian bloomers and i tell you, ill never fo back to tight, uncomfortable underwear. They are perfect when i wear dresses. The ones you made are so beautiful.

      Lol Right?? That dress is beyond cute!! I first came across it last year in a wardrobe post someone made and have been obsessed with it ever since! Very happy to finally have it in my wardrobe and to add it to the other food themed dresses I own that I can wear for my trips to the grocery store 😊 lol!

    Thank you so much for this video and all your lolita follow along sewing videos tbh! This brought back my lolita sewing spirit! I watched the videos a few days ago and went straight to the fabric store to recreate the bloomers (just finished them, so cute! I adjusted the length to fit me better). Your video really helped me understand my Otome no Sewing Book better and the "hack" with the ribbon to mark the front is genius.
    Really looking forward, if there were more Let's sew videos to come

  • @vivchibilove

    Ohhhh they turned out perfect! I love how you used the lace. Since the lace covers the bottom third of the bloomers it is the only part that will ever show under your skirt. With a petti on, it almost looks like the entire bloomers are made of lace because of that!

    • @vivchibilove
      @vivchibilove 2 года назад

      Also! I recently got three more Otome no Sewing books. 4,5 and 7. There are SO may good patterns in them!

    • @SewBlack
      @SewBlack  2 года назад

      Thank you so much ☺️💕 I’m really happy with how they turned out and am looking into making an all black pair next! Also yayyy for more otome no sewing books! Super jealous that you got book 7 since it has several patterns in it that I really want to try, in particular a 3 tiered red gingham OP 😍 Would love to hear about any projects you end making using them!

    For a neater finish, you can sew the legs together first then sew the trim on top in the circle and feed the casing in a small opening then close.

    The lace is fabulous 😍 it turns out real great! At first I sought "she didn't add pockets!!!" but then I remember it's an undergarment 😂 sewist habits I guess?

    • @SewBlack
      @SewBlack  2 года назад +3

      Lol So I have thought about adding pockets to my bloomers, especially because I like the idea of wearing them as regular pants for some casual lolita looks!

    I love your channel, I got recently into DIY my lolita stuff and finding this was a godsend!!! Btw, I have a question, you mention at the end about using a serger instead of the zigzag stitch, what do you mean by that? Is that like an overlock stitch pattern?? Sorry, I have no idea about those things haha, I only know the overlock machine as opposed to a simple sewing machine hehe

    When looking for the front of pants, the little X in the crotch seam where they meet will (usually) be in the front of the pants.

    This is such a nice video, and voice is so soothing. ☺Question though: About how many yards of fabric did you end up using?

    • @SewBlack
      @SewBlack  Год назад

      😊Thank you! So for this project I want to say I used about 1.5 yards of fabric to make everything. The amount really depends on how long you decide to make your bloomers, but I think in general 1.5-2 yards should be more than enough to make this!

    • @CuteNoririn
      @CuteNoririn 6 месяцев назад

      I know it is nine month ago, but my Otome no Sewing Book says 1.10 m x 1.30 m (size S and M) or 1.10 m x 1.40 m (Size L)

    • @SewBlack
      @SewBlack  6 месяцев назад

      Then go with the that! I was just using what I had on hand at the time which was 1.5-2yards (don’t remember the exact amount) of a cotton fabric I had in my stash. If you can make it using less, cool! If not, then add more fabric.

    I'm trying to get into wearing skirts and dresses more but I hate when my legs touch so simple bloomers like this will be great for me, especially in the summer. I'll use linen tho but still thank you from a beginner. biker shorts get too hot for me in the summer.

      Hi hi! So the book is called ‘Otome no sewing’ and while I don’t have a direct link to purchase the book since I bought through an auction, if you search the title of the book on Etsy or Japanese Mercari you should be able to find a copy there for purchase!
