Do you need to get it remapped after putting the dna filter on? Or for what reason are you getting it done for. Just curious as im gonna buy a filter myself, does it make it much louder cheers
@jamieharkness7425 Id say yes to getting it mapped. I’m currently running a fuel dongle which is ok for a slip on exhaust. But now it has the filter it needs the fuelling to be set up properly.

Iv exactly the same bike and plan to follow your direction regarding sorting the fuelling!! I live in the Northwest so it’s only about a 40 mile trip to Burnley . Was hopin to see a vid from you saying how the bike now runs ? A heads up regarding the process and outcome would be appreciated!!

Thanks for the video! Where are you doing the remap? I’d really frighten me to leave a filter open like that, the first water or even just rain risk to drown the bike. I don’t suppose this open filter is suitable for off-road application..
The remap has now been done @bhp_uk. Which I’ll post the video soon. Work commitments have held me up. I agree I’m a little concerned myself about the filter being open. But I don’t plan on washing it without covering it up. I’m not sure how much rain would get through when raining. Something I am thinking about.

Where are you getting it re-mapped? Be interesting to know how you get on as we'll have exactly the same setup once re-mapped. Hope the knee gets sorted soon. 👍
Hi, thanks unfortunately surgery is the only option 😫. I’ve not ridden it yet only started it up. I may give it a run tomorrow and see how it is. I’ve still got the fuel dongle fitted so hopefully won’t be too lean. It’s getting mapped at BHP UK in Burnley.
On my 2023 690 im running a dna aswell leo vince exhaust and junction 33 remap bike pulls hard low down and midrange but lost some top end and the intake noise is just too much the dna lid with stock filter sounds just that bit quiter.
It did cross my mind on how the induction noise would be. Interesting on the top end results. I’ll have to see what happens with mine when it’s on the dyno.

Regarding the filter I’m in two minds in whether to leave it open or fit the original intake cover back in. It’s gonna be susceptible to the wet left open. I’ll see how it goes. Warranty wise I’m ok. Not like there’s anything that can’t be put back to standard. And to be honest if anything the bikes gonna run better, better fuelling better air intake. Well that’s my theory anyway 😁
I’ve a ‘22 701 with the euro 5 engine. Fitted tekmo system, DNA airbox and fuel dongle. Got a Power commander 6 with a map however engine management light has been illuminated since I got this done. Let me know if you have similar issue, great vids 👍
Thanks. Much appreciated. As far as I’m aware the power commander doesn’t work on Euro 5. If it did you wouldn’t need the fuel dongle. At a guess it’s the PC that’s giving you the engine light.
I think lower throttle openings are a closed circuit and the fuel dongle fools the ecu into adding more fuel, the PC works at 60% plus throttle openings in the euro 5 engine.
You’re right on the fuel dongle. It just frigs the ECU into reading the C02 readings. Unless things have changed, which they may have and I’ve not caught up but Dyno jet said they weren’t going to do any mapping for euro 5 due to the closed loop emission circuit. That’s why quite a few 690 owners get the bike remapped. I’m gonna go searching Google now to update myself just in case 😁
I just checked on the Dynojet website and for both the husky and KTM which we know are the same bike the PC6 only works on up to 2020 which is euro 4. I had a 21 husky 701 previously which was a euro 5 bike.
Oddly I couldn’t find a aftermarket paper filter for a ktm 1290 2022 duke . The OEM Replacement from KTM Was the same price as a K&N . Not to make any improvement as won’t without a remap it was just because of price and reusable .
@@Robbiemoto yes mate does work but if U change the filter your leaning out again basically it tricks the bike to thinking cold so at lower rpm gives it a bit more but with the open filter doesn't really help to much. If Def needs a map.

Isn't the paper air filter supposed be replaced with foam filter at predelivery? Or is that the Enduro only?
I’d say it’s the right filter for a road bike. I’ve no idea about an Enduro.

Yes. I’m running a CRT fuel dongle at the mo but would defo need a map.
