100 years from now people will be singing this hymn - Great job Sir.
@@eightiesmusic1984 No, that happened when you were born.
@@Rx6666 Many thanks. Unintentionally funny.
@@Rx6666 the only real joyful noise. that of a newborn baby. there are more ways than one in which ALW was taking a mickey out of a certain member of the royal household with this hymn - and as ever with geniuses, most people never noticed it. Masterpiece.
@@sebastianbaxter3761 The words are Psalm 98. Did the almighty conspire with him?
@@auntyhayte I'll ask him and will get back to you with the response once I find a way to properly word it in a manner that will prevent me from being myself thrown into London Tower's dungeons.
As an American, I am compelled to use a baseball metaphor: Andrew Lloyd Webber hit it out of the park with Make A Joyful Noise. This was by far the best musical feature of the Coronation. The bright majestic musical themes were perfect, and the inspiration from Psalm 98 is a reminder to all of where the authority of His Majesty as well as that of all earthly kings come from. May King Charles III live up to this exhortation and worship the LORD in heaven (Yehovah Elohim) with every decision he makes for the United Kingdom.
Amen
It appears that the authority of all earthly kings comes from their bank accounts. The masses adore wealth and people who have wealth.
@osb3 I totally agree!
@@walterbenjamin1386 Huh?
Thanks for you great words, fellow American. You have a great vocabulary and I see are a talented writer. Lori in St. Louis.
It was sung beautifully during the coronation. Thank you to the composer, Andrew Lloyd Webber!
The music at the Coronation was utterly superb, the choirs, orchestras, fanfares and individuals excelled beyond measure. And this is a great addition to the British royal ceremonial repertoire.
It’s 100 % plagiarism for joy to the world by Handel and Mason. I am super amazed that no one can hear it…
@@vanstermania There are phrases that are similar, but it certainly is not plagiarized.
Yes, I’m here listening to it again
There are similarities but in no way is it plagiarism. This piece goes off on a completely different direction entirely so any similarities are kept minimal.
@@WillMeganFan i am sure they tweaked it just so anyone wouldnt be able to hear it, but come on, it’s so obvious
I heard this music live at the coronation today and had to come and hear it again absolutely STUNNING 🙏 ❤️

Wasn't it though? This song is my favorite though. A perfect ending to a glorious pageant.
Same here… stunning 💜 👼🏼
Fantastic
MAKE a joyful noise unto the Lord for he hath done marvellous things. And his holy arm hath gotten him the victory. He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. O make a joyful noise unto the Lord all the earth. Make a loud noise; rejoice and sing his praise. Let the sea roar, the world and they that dwell within. Let the floods clap their hands; let the hills be joyful together. Make a joyful noise unto the Lord all the earth. Rejoice and sing his praise. For he cometh to judge the earth. And with righteousness shall he judge the world and the people with equity. O make a joyful noise unto the Lord all the earth. Sing unto the Lord with the harp and the voice of a psalm. With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the Lord the King.
Is it Psalm 98?? ❤
@@shraddashradda Yes - though the verses are not quite in the same order. Verse 4 is essentially the refrain. Verse 2 missed out.
@@shraddashradda Yes, it is...excellent detective work...but ALW paraphrased it a bit with music.

I'm so pleased that so many people enjoyed this piece of music...
This piece by Andrew Lloyd Webber is truly stunning and by far was a highlight in the coronation service. On every possible level it was composed, performed, and recorded beautifully. A work for the ages.
Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber is a Musical Genius!
Such a wonderful song! And the fact that children also participated in the singing, made it even more joyful.
Children have sung daily in the cathedrals and parish churches of this country for hundreds of years
Duh. Have you ever heard of the Wiener Sangerknaben? Clearly not. Yes, children have sang in cathedrals, not only in your country but all over Europe, but only a few selects get to sing at a coronation.
Make a joyful noise
Unto the Lord
For He hath done marvelous things
And His holy arm
Hath gotten Him the victory
[Verse 1]
He hath remembered His mercy
And His truth toward the house of Israel
All the ends of the earth have seen
The salvation of our God
I just love this song. Make a joyful noise unto The Lord. God bless you Andrew. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Why is Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber not writing Christian choral music on a full-time basis?? Such a high calling to write music for the Lord God Almighty. Truly believe that when God gives the talent, he requires His name be praised.
Absolutely stunning work. I've listened to it again and again and it doesn't get old. Praise be to God!
God Save The King!
I am really touched by this masterpiece of my favorite musicals-composer!!!!! Andrew Lloyd Webber is a genius. I bought the music on i-tunes and i play it all day. I can't get enough of it. Thank you very much Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber.
that makes two of us !🎉
Andrew Lloyd Webber is the master. I have loved all of his works since I was about 12 years old - now 55.
Praise the Lord!!!
AMEN
This was just amazing - my dad and I were watching the coronation from the west coast in the US we both stopped what we were doing when this song came on and said “what is this?” - outstanding, glorious!!!
Sir Andrew outdid himself on this one...I didn't think that was possible!!
Yesss
You@@WillsonHanlie have great musical tastes!
Congratulation Sir Andrew. What an honor that The King asks you to compose a piece of music for his Coronation! and You did a wonderful job with The Psalm 98
This is absolutely divine!
I heard it first time during the coronation and I thought “Wow!this music was amazing”However, when I listened to this again, I couldn’t hold the tears of happiness from my eyes.
Thank you so much for creating this beautiful masterpiece.
God bless Andrew Lloyd-Weber he wrote this glorious piece of music while he knew his was dying. Thank you for this beautiful, beautiful piece of music. I am so sorry for your loss.
Son dropped out I suspose my fat fingers caused it. Sir Andrew I am sorry.
Andrew...Phantom has left us...but your light is not dimming, ever! your a freight train and a powerhouse!!! Bless you sir!!!
Bought me to tears, such great talent from everyone
This music indeed impels me to make a joyful noise! ALW, you've given not only the King but the whole world great joy.
It really must be bittersweet for Sir Andrew. I must say, I LOVE Handel’s Zadok the Priest, so Sir Andrew has a huge act to follow in my humble opinion. I adore almost everything he has ever written, so can’t imagine that I’ll be too disappointed!
What a presumptuous remark!
He did an amazing Job
ALWebber's piece is in a modern idiom while being of a religious nature and totally right for the Coronation of 2023. All other music was written by Handel or by Elgar (early 20th). I'm so glad England is no longer "die stadt ohne musique" as was said in earlier centuries. "The land without music."
So well done! It’s classical and majestic but you can tell it comes from the current era
Sounds like a Sunday school song I hear in church. Not grand very light like a summer perfume. But I guess it capture the contemporary role of the monarchy.
More beautiful music from ALW. 😃
King Charles III wanted "hummable", and it certainly is that and more. Outstanding piece, using the resources available.
Congratulations ALW
Just perfect for the occasion. The tune is catchy and cheery and kept playing in my head. Love love this beautiful masterpiece. Simple yet astounding.
With this 21st century coronation, we could hear and thus contemplate the profound meaning of the oaths sworn, prayers offered and anthems sung to celebrate the new reign. If seen through the eyes of the Spirit and felt in the holy heights of the soul, the coronation might become a Sacred Anointing for all realms of the Commonwealth. Let the KIngdom of Heaven within each heart align with the prophetic song of the people. God save the King, God bless our world..... And please keep composing your joyful noises, Lord Weber. The tears of wonder and worship that your music evokes serve to cleanse the vision, highlighting a beautiful way to the days ahead. With all sincerity and gratitude, pmw
Beautiful…a lovely piece of contemporary music befitting a coronation. ALW is a fantastic composer. He writes memorable music!😊
Make a joyful noise by Andrew Lloyd Webber was just beautiful and entirely fitting - wonderful tribute.
Fantastic! May 12, 2023.
Brilliant!! and it will age well....and so perfect for the extraordinary quality and range of choral and instrumental talent nurtured in the UK (and of course all the conductors at work every day in schools, universities, churches, choirs and orchestras!) (From the USA)
Make a joyful noise all the earth, what a wonderful sound for the beginning of King Charles reign. Let us all be glad and rejoice. Amen.
This was my favorite composition at the Coronation. Beautiful!
I'm listening for a 2nd time to my favorites of the ceremony--from the Alleluia to Joyful Noise and on. Glorious, Sir Andrew and the Choirs.
A genius celebrating the Genius of the Universe, a marvelous anthem; Godspeed

Absolutely marvellous, brings tears to my eyes.My school in Málaga, Spain will play it un the graduación of their bachelor academic year. Im a fan!
Absolutely spectacular! Thank you Sir Andrew, what a splendid piece of music.😊
well said !!!🎉
Beautiful and this morning the choir boys really seemed to enjoy singing it! CONGRATS! Andrew.
No doubt Classic fm will run with this, claiming it's the best piece of music since sliced Einaydi and, like the Emperor's new clothes we will be hoodwinked. The "children" by the way are all highly trained musicians. They're smiling because of the honour of being part of the coronation....
A beautiful, simple, majestic piece written in key of C. While not as complicated as the Hallelujah Chorus, it stands tall and will last. The boys clear soprano bring out the beauty of the high notes. Love it!
Wow, listening to this, seeing and hearing it live on May 6 th was absolutely amazing. I didn't know what to expect. It lifts you up in an amazing way. Thank you

King Solomon’s Psalm 98 as we have never heard it sung before - Praise God/ Hashem / θεός for the Hebrew and Greek scriptures that undergird our Faith.

oh my goodness - what a breathtaking piece of heaven !!!
I googled the words - not available yet (or are they the ones posted above in the comments?)
Didnt sleep at all after hearing it the first time - repeating it over and over again.
Am going to use it next Sunday in the church as an exit piece, doing something on the organ . .
(who knows what supernatural consequences there might be😅)
apparently the score can be obtained free of charge- anybody who knows the procedure to follow ?
WELL DONE SIR WEBBER!!!!!!!
And thank you for this GIFT to the world!
