    If you're using single stage paint, should you set the pressure to 30 psi?

      Single stage get a bit more peel. You could lower your fluid just a tad bit 1/4 turn or bump up your psi. same effect.

    • @GarageNoise

      It's all about air production. You want about 6 cfm's for this gun

    Hello! Thanks! so very much for all the good Videos you give us. I wonder what the difference is in not holding the activation handle on the Paint Gun all the way in until it stops. And to do it. It must be difficult to hold in halfway and be even in the amount of spray. Isn't it better to set the gun so that you can hold it all the way in when you apply the clear coat? Thanks! From Tommy Bertilsson from Sweden

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  Год назад

      Yeah it's set up to pull all the way. What I was trying to say, I don't think I was clear in my explanation. When I start clearing I'm not pulling it all the way because I want to see how the clear is laying on the panel. That way I can kinda get a feel for the speed and distance I want to spray at.

    What grit did you sand with before painting and clearing on the different areas?

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  Год назад +1

      I use 600 over primer and 600 or 800 over the remainder of the fender.

  • @petar443
    @petar443 Год назад

    Howdy Chris. Did i understand right - quick and closer with more volume is nearly the same as slower but further with little less volume. But for sure the quick way is for a seasoned painter like you. What about the pressure - stays the same ?

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  Год назад

      So, with the gun settings the same for both techniques. If you decrease your distance from the panel with a bit more speed you can achieve the same finish as spraying further away at a slower speed. My general point is it's not all about the gun settings, speed and distance are just as important. Play around with it and do some test panels it will help you.

    I have 22 Gal aircopressor. Is it ok to paint with it ?

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  Год назад

      Capacity is not as important as the cfm production. You want 6 or more.

    • @uncleamerica3827
      @uncleamerica3827 Год назад

      @@GarageNoise how im gonna know the cfm if it was not written?

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  Год назад

      @Uncle America that's difficult. Look up, model, and manufacturer, and see if you can find a spec sheet online. Generally speaking, a 22-gallon compressor will be a bit small to use to paint an entire vehicle without air pressure fluctuations. If you're painting one or two panels, you may be able to get away with it. Either way, this gun is your best option for a small compressor.
