Quick tip: applying 1 coat of solid black basecoat over primer helps those blue pearls/metallics cover faster with less coats. Works with darker red pearls also. Looks good! Excellent job!
I probably should have done that, it does help quite a bit. Appreciate your comment and support!
That door jam repair was awesome
Thank's brother!
The tip about only pulling the trigger if your gun is moving is really helpful! Thanks!
Seriously, mad respect for the content you provide! Thankful they are people out there like you who “give away all the secrets” 💪 I am a firm believer that we reap what we sow, so I fully expect you to receive blessings
Thank's brother, my pleasure. Many have shared their experience with me so it's the least I can do.
Another good video Chris thanks 👍

Another well made and informative video Chris, I've learnt a lot from your videos about how the distance and speed effects the results you get on the panel, it's not just about the gun settings it's every part of what you do and how you spray so thanks for sharing👏🙏👍John UK
Thank's brother! Appreciate all your support!

Hi sir you work is very nice I understand your work because I am car danter from Pakistan
👍👊awesome! Thank's for the comment brother!
Great video
👍
Love your work just bought the A610!
Awesome! Let me know how you like it.
@@GarageNoise Will do!
We're doing this in class today 🤙
👍👊
Doing this type of thing for the first time seen it done plenty but getting my feet wet now. On my teensy channel also. Doing a Tundra bedside that rusted under the paint around the wheelwell. Didn't appear to come from the inside it just chipped in the wheelwell then travelled under the paint up the side a bit.
Cavity wax is a good product to spray inside bedsides to help slow a prevent rust.
Hi Chris thanks for all the good videos and advice. So I checked out Aeropro seems they have 2 similar guns. Would love to see a video of Aeropro R500/610 vs 608. Put them to the test and give us your take on them.
I've been tempted to try the 608 but air consumption is much greater than the R500. May see a review in the future
Nice 👍 👍
👍👊
I usually do single stage because of cost but I like two stage.
2k is much more forgiving
How long after putting coats of paint should you do clear coat? Is there a time limit?
Chris what size tip were you using for the A610 for spraying the clearcoat?
Another excellent video - much appreciated
1.3 thanks for the comment and support!
I really appreciate this video as I'm about to paint my first car ..I'm doing a full car spray and I'm buying an r500 for my clear gun...using my sprayit for the base .. which should I use for the intercoat pearl?
Appreciate your support. Use your base gun and keep the clear gun for clear only that's what I would do.
I see that csi polish on that rolling chart. How u like it, make a review on it?
I love that stuff. It took awhile to find something I like better than 3m.
Can a regular primer in a spray can be used instead of 2k for small dents repairs before using a proper spray gun for the base? Thank you
It can, it takes a long time to dry and you do risk a chemical reaction. It's more aggressive. If you do use it light multiple coats. If you put it on too wet it's more likely to react. This is you best bet in aerosol 2k primer

Great video Chris thanks for sharing
👊👍Yw!
Great job as always Chris! Do you feel the aeropro is better for clear than the R500?
No, they spray the same. Same gun internally. appreciate the comment and support
Thanks Chris ❤️ your content! Do you recommend Nason 498 clear coat and Nason xl base coat?
I really like 498 clear. Easy to spray and buff. Great gloss and durability.
@@GarageNoise what base coat (black) you recommend thanks Chris!
@@68charger88 nason xl it's a good covering paint.
Hi Chris. Thank you again for providing these videos. I have a question for you regarding an issue that happened when laying down the base coat on one of my doors. My A610 air adjustment screw starting closing on me. I must have managed to bump it while spraying. That resulted in some texture. I decided to keep going and lay down the clear with proper pressure. The clear did help level the texture but it is still a bit obvious. The color is solid black and wanted to ask you if you think when I wet sand 2000/3000 then polish I can save it? I watched your video from a few years ago where you saved something much worse. I have my fingers crossed! This is my first time painting so I’m still learning a lot. Thanks again!
Yes, you should definitely be able to wet sand it out.
@@GarageNoise Thank you for the confirmation! I’ll be more careful going forward.
what tip size for base / clear coat RS500 guns.

I need to understand how you mask those jams and the upper roof line that goes into the jam you have a video on that??
I have a video on masking. It may be helpful. ruclips.net/video/2eTOY5ad9aU/видео.html
And I love the channel thank you so much
@@tedc9306 I appreciate the support!
Chris when you use sanding sponges. Which kind do you used to get into hard to reach areas? Do you use Fine , ultra fine , super fine etc ?
In the sungold brand ultra fine is 800 grit finish and the micro fine is 1200 grit finish
Thanks Chris . One more question , what would 600 Grit be in the sanding sponges ?
this is a customer car? Depending on how much you charged them for this, I would honestly expect a paint booth and the whole 9 for a good job. While these tools don't necessarily mean you will get a good job, having the right tools for the job will mean a phenomenal result for technicians who can use them properly. I don't mean to discredit your workmanship, but for a lot less work than this, I paid $2400 to a bodyshop to work on my car. Almost the same repair as this too, but a bit less. I considered the cleanliness of their shop, their organization, their previous work, and what facilities they had access too. I was not disappointed. A great channel who I admire is Paint Society. I took my own vehicle to people that work similar to him. Everyone has their own technique and own method when it comes to art (which is what bodywork is), but kind of shocked and disappointed at this being done in the open. This isn't exactly a beater car.
No, I don't have a paint booth, but my customers are completely satisfied when the car is delivered. All wy work is guaranteed. Because my reputation is at stake. I don't advertise, I am not in any direct repair program for any insurance company yet I'm booked 5 months out right now. When a customer leaves my shop the goal is they are so satisfied that they never want their car repaired by any other facility.
This man is proving that you don’t need a spray booth to get a high end finish. The prep work is spot on and the end result is flawless, Keep up the good work. 👍
Got a question for the u pol high build primer mixed as a sealer 4:1:2 so I’m painting a used aftermarket fender that’s been painted already had quite few rock chips and went to metal in a few spots my question is I feather them out can’t feel them with you’re hand can I spray the u pol mixed as sealer on the metal area’s ? So is it tdm?
Yes it dtm( direct to metal)
@@GarageNoise ok sweet thanks as the ones i bought are the high solids high build primer version ill go ahead mix it ask sealer and spray a coat on the whole fender then base and clear didn’t know if it’s different because it’s high solids
What size needle and tip do you use for the base coat and clear coat?
I like a 1.3
What grit do you use to prep the old paint on the new door to accept the new clear? 800 grit?
600 or 800 is what I prefer.
Tinted sealer or value shaded sealer would be easier to cover that primer... Or tint your primer if you're not using sealer..... Definitely suggest a wet bed of blender for any metallics otherwise you get that Halo effect from the mountainous transition from panel to primer...
What is sealer and for what using can you ezplain, thanks.
question, do u not have to pull the trigger fully , i noticed when i pull the trigger like half way the flow seems better
Yeah, definitely you don't have to. I don't talk about this enough but that's a great way to control the flow and get a feel for the atomization.
@@GarageNoise one last question and thank u for answering i do sub to your channel im using 2 a610 guns(rs500) one clear and one base coat 21 gallon compressor what a good wet beginner clear coat🤦🏾♂️ i tried wanda and honestly i didnt like it ..

@@GarageNoise Thank you sir
Hello Chris. I am looking to get some paint for my car and I would like to know the best place to purchase paint. The paint I need is Orchid White Pearl (Code NH788P). Thank you.
I would look for a local automotive paint supplier. They will help you get what you need.
Are you using a 30 gallon compressor?
No it's a 60 gal large compressor
Why are people calling the A610 an updated R500? People on Amazon were complaining the trigger is a plunger type vs o-ring. Is there any performance, handling, quality difference between the brands? I understand they are all basically the same since they are all ordered from the same manufacturer (?).
Both guns are manufactured by Rongpeng you can lookbthem up. Sprays the same, use same needle sets and air caps. The only difference I see is in the appearance. I don't think it has any o rings or gaskets, I haven't had any problems with my guns.
@@GarageNoise thanks for the reply. The Amazon listing states it has a Teflon coating which could be the reason for the color change.
Don’t leave any glossy spots or else the paint won’t stick
👍
