    Quick tip: applying 1 coat of solid black basecoat over primer helps those blue pearls/metallics cover faster with less coats. Works with darker red pearls also. Looks good! Excellent job!

    Doing this type of thing for the first time seen it done plenty but getting my feet wet now. On my teensy channel also. Doing a Tundra bedside that rusted under the paint around the wheelwell. Didn't appear to come from the inside it just chipped in the wheelwell then travelled under the paint up the side a bit.

    Can a regular primer in a spray can be used instead of 2k for small dents repairs before using a proper spray gun for the base? Thank you

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  3 месяца назад +1

      It can, it takes a long time to dry and you do risk a chemical reaction. It's more aggressive. If you do use it light multiple coats. If you put it on too wet it's more likely to react. This is you best bet in aerosol 2k primer

    Hi Chris. Thank you again for providing these videos. I have a question for you regarding an issue that happened when laying down the base coat on one of my doors. My A610 air adjustment screw starting closing on me. I must have managed to bump it while spraying. That resulted in some texture. I decided to keep going and lay down the clear with proper pressure. The clear did help level the texture but it is still a bit obvious. The color is solid black and wanted to ask you if you think when I wet sand 2000/3000 then polish I can save it? I watched your video from a few years ago where you saved something much worse. I have my fingers crossed! This is my first time painting so I’m still learning a lot. Thanks again!

    this is a customer car? Depending on how much you charged them for this, I would honestly expect a paint booth and the whole 9 for a good job. While these tools don't necessarily mean you will get a good job, having the right tools for the job will mean a phenomenal result for technicians who can use them properly. I don't mean to discredit your workmanship, but for a lot less work than this, I paid $2400 to a bodyshop to work on my car. Almost the same repair as this too, but a bit less. I considered the cleanliness of their shop, their organization, their previous work, and what facilities they had access too. I was not disappointed. A great channel who I admire is Paint Society. I took my own vehicle to people that work similar to him. Everyone has their own technique and own method when it comes to art (which is what bodywork is), but kind of shocked and disappointed at this being done in the open. This isn't exactly a beater car.

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  11 месяцев назад +1

      No, I don't have a paint booth, but my customers are completely satisfied when the car is delivered. All wy work is guaranteed. Because my reputation is at stake. I don't advertise, I am not in any direct repair program for any insurance company yet I'm booked 5 months out right now. When a customer leaves my shop the goal is they are so satisfied that they never want their car repaired by any other facility.

    Tinted sealer or value shaded sealer would be easier to cover that primer... Or tint your primer if you're not using sealer..... Definitely suggest a wet bed of blender for any metallics otherwise you get that Halo effect from the mountainous transition from panel to primer...

    Why are people calling the A610 an updated R500? People on Amazon were complaining the trigger is a plunger type vs o-ring. Is there any performance, handling, quality difference between the brands? I understand they are all basically the same since they are all ordered from the same manufacturer (?).

      Both guns are manufactured by Rongpeng you can lookbthem up. Sprays the same, use same needle sets and air caps. The only difference I see is in the appearance. I don't think it has any o rings or gaskets, I haven't had any problems with my guns.
