You're so right about pricing, and thanks for sharing your method. Everyone knows, that if you're going to stay in business, you have to make a profit. BUT --- I will patronize a business or artisan if they are genuine and charge a fair price EVEN IF it's more expensive. You can buy a product, but you can't buy craftsmanship/the artist's eye or a loving attitude. Yes, I say "loving" because an artisan really wants the client to enjoy and appreciate the work that you've done for them, at a fair price. And, like you say -work with your clients! What's that saying - "They may forget what you said - but they will never forget how you made them feel." Make your clients feel wonderful!
I'm just a beginner and I mean "very wet behind the ears" as a quilter. I've only made 1 successful quilt and working on one now about 1.5 times bigger than the last. Watching your video helps a lot in knowing that if I decide I need someone to quilt for me a large piece...what to look for and how not to get ripped off. It is nice to know that there are still people out there who are thinking of others and looking out for their future at the same time. I'm a mechanic by trade and have the same ideals. You can make a boatload of money now or take care of your clients and you'll always have a job. Thank you for the video and I am looking forward to more! Much love from Southeast Texas ❤
You are so right!!!! People are spiritual beings! No yucky feelings, please. Life is hard enough. Honesty and fairness all the way around pays off far more than money.
I love the way you think when it comes to your clients. For me, it's also about the relationship. I have clients who buy from me often and when the come back, I give them discounts. And they bring their friends which helps me build my business. You seem like such a fair and kind person.
Lorena, I've watched many of your videos and they were really informative. But this was really touched my heart. I owned a bridal business for 20+ yrs and I always wanted my client to feel special and for that I had lots of referrals. It is how you make people feel and not the money. That will come with time. Thanks for sharing you talent and wisdom with us.
Lorena just letting you know I follow most of your tutorials even if I don’t always leave a comment. I appreciate all that you share. Most quilters keep this information close to their chest..so sending a big thanks for sharing ❤️❤️
You have given me so much insight into the long arm quilting world. Makes me strive to do better in my piecing and try to make my long armers job easier! Thank you!
I appreciate your willingness to share your wisdom from experience. You are correct about relationships and being ripped off. Both will stick with you and it’s up to each of us individually on wether it’s a positive or a negative.
Thanks for a great video; very helpful. In the 70's, I was making & selling crib quilts and/or covers, nap-time covers for little kids & doll cover & pillow sets, which I mostly gave as gifts. When people saw them, they all wanted the same for their kids. Once I had a problem with a customer, who I did not know who found me selling at a church bazaar. She ordered a doll cover/pillow set, patchwork in white & peach fabrics. Covers were 20" x 11" w/an appropriately sized doll pillow, all lined in cotton or cotton-poly, trimmed all around with lace & were utterly charming. The two-item set I priced at $8.00 (special order) which she thought was a good price. I did not say anything about "special orders" at all but items on the sale table were all priced at $6.00/set. She gave me half down & it was ready in a few days as promised. But when she wouldn't return my calls or answer post card reminders I mailed, until 6-7 months later, I wouldn't return her money or give her the set. She stopped by without her child & had no reason for her behavior other than she was busy! She was a bit huffy but did understand. So just giving a set price, without itemizing items like thread separately, is the best way to go if it can be managed. I had one price for crib sets, one for nap sets & one for doll sets except for that one customer who was charged two dollars extra because I had to source peach-colored fabrics & she wanted it fast. I'm thinking of doing that all again now that retirement is here.
Thank you so much for this video. I just found your channel and work in the service industry. What you said about referrals, trust in customer relationships, and the unhappy ones who tell anyone and everyone who will listen to them, the bad they have to say on you, is ABSOLUTELY on point! It depends on whether or not the clients desire a meaningful and lasting relationship with the service provider. Both the clients and service providers reap the benefits. As a self imposed rule, I follow my heart as my guide and do my best to please them. I invest my heart and effort to produce a quality product. There are times it is either overlooked or not appreciated. Not to be discouraged, I understand that it is impossible to please everyone. Nonetheless, I will give and do my best with the exception of when they disrespect me by telling me how to do my job. Excuse me? Are you licensed in my field?! However, once a relationship is established, I too am trusted with their family members and friends to do services for. I appreciate this and do not ever take this trust for granted. Our customers are our livelihoods. Thank you again.
I loved your video. Thank you so much for giving us great tips! You are awesome! Most quilters do not share this vital information. Lorena this is why we all adore and love your professionalism.
You are a smart and sensible lady. Thank you for the information and advice. Some people don't appreciate how much you invest in your machine and some want something for nothing. You deserve to be paid for the work you do. Best wishes in the New Year.
Yes you are so right. But their is always clients out their... and I have become really good and reading peoples intention and avoid doing work for them.
I don’t quilt......but your channel was in my list......and I am sooooooo happy it was. I design and create custom garments for my clients and can definitely relate to what you said. Oh, I think you are just a ray of sunshine! Good advice and also you are educating people about how to cultivate a fair and healthy relationship with clients and really other areas in their life! No one wants a yucky feeling. True true true
No yucky feeling.. it can ruin a good day and filter into a whole week.. thank you for your sweet comment it’s a wind to my sail.. really am thankful..
Lorena THANK YOU! I just do my quilt tops for myself and family but I do have them quilted. Thanks for the tutorial. You're really fun to watch also. Thanks
MaryEsther Provencio oh thank you so much!! If I don’t were make up I look tired😂😂😊. One day I went to work with no make up people kept asking me if I was tired.. all day😂😂😊 I said what different.. girl I didn’t were make up😊😂😂😂
I'm not into quilting at all. But having said that, I'm so glad I watched your video. I love your honesty and your willingness to share with others. I was interested because I have friends who quilt and I admire that work so much.
Great advice, Lorena! I am new to long-arming and still struggle to decide what to charge. I have a few clients now and my work for them has run the gamut from E2E meander (.02/sqin) to custom quilting (.05/sqin). So far my clients have been very happy with my work and the price I charged them, so I guess I'm on the right track! Love your channel! :)
I love finding people like you to work with. Your philosophy is on point! I have only just started quilting and have a few tops, but haven't taken them into a long-armer yet because the prospect of understanding the fees charged is too intimidating and I won't know if I'm being charged a fair price. Now, I'm in Canada, so cross your fingers that I'll find someone like you!
Hi Pennie. Where do you live? I am in Chilliwack BC. and fortunately my neighbour across the street has a long arm machine. You could check the Mom and Pop Quilt Shop in Ontario and Sparrow Quilts in Edmonton. Both also have great RUclips channels. Mom and Pop do live streams every Saturday, but Laura-Lynn does quilting on her Gammill for clients too.
@@KelleysQuiltsandCruises - Hey Kelley, thank you so much for the message. (We were just in Chiliwack this summer!) I'm in Calgary. "Pop" is coming out at the end of the month and they're trying to organize a dinner meet-up, so I might be able to chat with him a bit, but as you know, they're in Ontario. I really appreciate you reaching out.
You are amazing and brilliant! You shared from your heart because you realize that there is no lack in the universe. Because of your generosity, you have created space in your life for massive blessings to flow in...and it is flowing even now! I wish more people would realize that when they share with others - that no one can impede their blessings. There is no need to be afraid or guarded because what the universe has for you IS for you and no one can take it...so THANK YOU for your kindness and love. You've helped hundreds to find their way in this market and now they can feed their families. Sending you a massive amount of light, abundance, and love! New subbie here! :-)
Your very nice Lorena, you are right about people leaving you with a yucky feeling, I don’t like to go back either. I hope your business does amazing!!! And I am sure that it will because you are a very special lady who cares!
In Australia we charge per sq foot, with different rates for free motion, pantograph and custom etc. We also don’t charge a separate bobbin fee, we just include it in with the quilting costs. Thanks for sharing all that you do.
Love your honesty girl. I learned a lot. I would love to have a coffee with you. LOL I quilt my own quilts the old fashion way but I am really really jealous of your long arm.
I have been quilting for 2 years. I still charge a set amount for a certain size with one applique. They are always custom. I don't make money, but love what I do. Loved your video! I have been thinking of revamping my charges. I have lots of return customers. But I stick to large squares or simple patterns. I don't do beautiful scroll work. Love people who can. LOVED you video. Will take several things you noted to help me change my prices. Thank you. :)
Thank you!! I’m going to share your video. I have a couple customers who have come in and didn’t want to pay me for my work and accused me of trying to price gouge her ( I didn’t end up quilting it but she brought it in with holes everywhere and I told her she could fix it or I could for $12 an hour) I didn’t care when she asked to pick it up and take it to someone cheaper. I am not getting run over by customers anymore if I can help it I don’t mind them bringing thread in but I have a list of thread brands
Oh hell no!!! It’s a business... you spend a lot of money on your equipment.. I’m not ashamed of charging what I do!!! If not I can do something else and do my quilts.. thank you for sharing I will pray for you to get good clients that see your value!
Thank you for this video, I enjoyed watching you & getting to know your heart. 💕 I don't know how to do my own quilting & admire those who can! I appreciate you explaining the process of how you charge for quilting clients quilt. Now I will feel more confident when looking for someone to help me. I am subscribing so I can learn more! Thank you!
I love how open and honest you are! I read all the comments so far and it still re-affirms to me that quilting will always be my hobby and not my business. I wish I could send my quilts to you to quilt but it will have to wait. For now I can only afford to do it on my domestic machines but as soon as I have a "real job" I'll be sending you business because I live in the DFW area. Happy quilting!
That quilt is beautiful, its great what you do!!! I don't know what people charge, but I know people never want to pay what they are worth!! So we only make quilts for family and friends!! I am new here, looking forward to more video's. Thank you!!
Love your tuits. So I charge one basic fee which includes batting and thread and quilting. Basically just like you are. I live in a depressed part of the country. I often give my customers a discount when they present me with more quilts. I charge an additional charge for backing and binding. Have a blessed day.
Yes I understand.. I help my clients too.. I rather have their quilts quilt than make a lot of money off of someone .. I really do thank you for sharing your process with me it’s a blessing!
This is the first time i have watched you flower, but because of how you came across and just how you described your actions makes me wish you a wonderful quilting year flower. I use to be a mobile hairdresser after i finished my city and guilds, as well as my 3 years apprenticeship, because my mum didn't keep well and we had just lost my twin brother to a drunk driver. I wanted to go and do my advanced city qualifications but lost heart when that happened. My business went for 7 years when i was ill expecting my first child, my daughter. I asked the girl that was supposed to be my friend as well as my junior when i was in the salon if she could see to my clients for me while i was off. I was off 2 months because of being in hospital(they kept keeping me in because of my heart, sods that they were), but i kept in touch with Jacqui to tell her how i was getting on and my customers. Anyway long story short, she told them that i had given up because of the baby and that she would take them on full time. Now a lot of them came to me because i was the cheapest and didn't charge realistically, i didn't know my own self worth and just how good i was. So please, never uncharge because you don't get any more thought of, and keep enjoying the decient people that realise your talents worth. Crafty hugs coming from Scotland to you.
Just happened on your video, and found it quite interesting. I always wondered how they figured the charge for doing a quilt. I would like to have a long arm machine myself. You're a very blessed person.
Thank you for sharing such valuable info. All of your insights into serving your customers are spot-on for a great customer experience. Haven’t seen any of your videos before...I’m now a subscriber and will watch all the rest of them over the next week. Keep up your great work and thanks again!
Hi, Lorena. I just found your channel, I appreciate you sharing what you have learned. I don't know if i'll ever do quilting for anyone or not, I have so much to learn yet and practice, practice, and practice some more. I think I need to do some binge watching. Thank you.
I love this video, you are so REAL...thank you! Would love to see more videos from you. I know that they take lots of work on your part but hope you can do them. I have subscribed.
Yes yucky feeling is not good to walk with,. It sets in the heart of your client and it’s a warning sign to us telling us this persons doesn’t have good intentions for us.. listening to that feeling can save us.. from Finamcial harm and emotional harm!
I just did some hunting in my area to find long arm quilters. People residing in the northeast had better get used to paying more than most other places in the states. There were only two long arm quilters within a 50 mile radius of my residence. That's a significant drive to deliver and pick up quilts. They do not mail completed quilts if you live within 60 miles. You have to get them. Farther than that, you have to prepay the postage. Each one of them charged .025 a square inch for a twin sized quilt and smaller and .03 a square inch for those over twin. Those two prices were based on a very simple design border to border. You had to have all three layers basted with a running stitch in "rows" six inches apart without knots. No safety pins. One provided thread in neutral colors for the small quilts for the simple designs. One charged a $5 thread fee for neutral colors. If you wanted quilting in other than neutral colors, you had to bring your own colored thread in the brand she specified, but were still charged the .03 quilting fee. So an 80x80 quilt would cost you $192 plus thread, plus mileage to deliver and pick up. Oh, and .0875 NY sales tax to boot. You can be sure I will quilt my own after spending about $150+ for the fabrics and other supplies for one quilt.
@@ToniNov25 I suspect one of the reasons for that kind of "charge-what-the-traffic-will-bear" attitude is that they each researched to see how many long armers there might have been within a reasonable distance to determine how much competition there was. I don't know how long either has been in business either. If I were younger and would get adequate use out of a $7K investment, I would get a machine myself and give them a run for their money. They must have a lock on their regions' markets. I obtained (free) regional publications which list all kinds of advertising, municipal articles of interest, community activities, jobs, and even some personals and neither of them advertises in any of those five publications.
Thank you for sharing and being genuine I loved the Quilt I’m new to quilting is my new hobby, I also start doing on Hemming the long pants 👖 and my client love my work and I charge her in a reasonable price also she is my friend.
Thank you for the insight! I just got into long arming. Don't think I'll ever sell my services but it's interesting to hear the how you come up with your fees.
Thank you for your comment.. sometimes I want to stop doing it so I can focus on my quilts.. enjoy your longarm... it’s a wonderful treasure for your artistry..
Hey you Lorena, I appreciate your honesty in sharing all your business. I have been looking for all the info regarding quilting , I am very interested in this . P.s. great personality, made me smile .. ok dis thread was fun.
I am in Canada and i charge .02 per square inch, i charge the cost of the thread spool for a queen or king and 1/2 the cost of the spool for lap or twin. I buy Hobbs batting and charge retail price for the quilt. I buy batting by the roll and can get 3 queens out of it. I pay 210.00 for a roll so they charge 70.00 for a queen batting.
Oh thank you.. yeah as I have done these videos people say my voice .. who would of thought.. I met some subscribers recently who saw me but weren’t sure then I spoke and they said it’s her.. 😂😂😊. It made me laugh!
Something to keep in mind when you do custom quilting. That also means that you're standing there doing the work, rather than an E2E pantograph which can be programmed into the machine to do automatically without the long-armer operator being there. So, you're paying for the operator's time to be working on your quilt, when they could be doing something else while the machine works. So, compensate your operator for her time! If you need or want something specific that requires custom quilting, for a special quilt, or for a quilt you're going to enter into a quilt show, then pay for her time to do it. She/he will know, then, that their work is going to be on display and will go out of their way to make it special for that purpose. For everyday use, or a quilt you know that the recipient won't realize all of the work that goes into making a quilt, E2E is perfect, and that's the majority of quilts that are made today.
Love this episode. I have always wondered how much quilting costs. It definitely is worth it. What should a person due to make this a positive experience for both involved? You are a wise and make a lot of sense. Thank you.
Hi Lorena! Thank you for your tutorial. I’ve been doing long arm quilting for care (charity) quilts for two different groups to which I belong so I can build my skills. I just saw your videos for the first time today. I’m wondering if you could do one on how you plan and quilt custom quilts for clients. I would find that to be very beneficial for me and I’m sure many others. Thank you for sharing. For the most part, I find quilters are eager to share their skill and knowledge and I’m glad to say you fit right in with that group. Keep up the the good work.
I have some videos I put on a play list for you on my process of custom quilting on video I share a table I made out of plex glass so I can design on the quilt top an Get the real dimensions of the quilt..
Thank you...yet to be charging people...maybe I am too generous...or they are taking advantage...as you say..NEW YEAR...time to change my thought process. Happy New Year to you and ME!
Yes a new year!!! Last year because of the difficulties I was going to shut down my business.. and stop doing RUclips.. I just decide despite the pressure of last year I’m going to do want makes me happy and walk away from self doubts and last years defeats.. if you have a longarm charge... you deserve to get some of your investment back.. I had a lady once try to bartering with me for my longarming ... It usually will take to quilt 3-5 hours on a quilt for other people.. I could be doing my own quilts or my own stuff in that time.. if it’s not my quilt I’m not doing it for nothing... at least pay me for thread or something buy me lunch.. or be there with me fellowshipping for time I’m quilting their quilt.. your time is valuable .... I only do free quilts for me.. of course😂 or for charity that I choose to invest my time and energy too!
U are so kind I'm a longarmer and love quilting quilts. I'm in the same ballpark as u are but there discounters and are very busy but burnt out. So I'm not busy and they are. Blessings
Lorena, I'm new to your channel!! Good stuff! I use Quilters Dream batting. You can buy it if you have a resale number and they do not have a minimum. You need one bag of crib size cotton batting and they will ship it. Good Batting! Thanks for the awesome video!
Really question how would I price it to sell to my clients?. I guess that’s why I stopped selling it and didn’t want to deal with the process of charging my clients!
Thanks for sharing. I long arm my own quilts with a gammil. I only do pantographs by hand. I don't have a computerized system. I have never sent my quilts out. I used to do free motion on my domestic machine. I have never quilted a top someone else made and I had no idea what to charge! I do get asked all the time.
Oh you have a blessing that can make you some extra money.. in your area the price may be different but yes I would do at least one or two clients a month
I really like to hear how others work their fees, so i'm glad you shared! I do a little different, I just charge a flat rate (still per square inch) and that covers thread and return priority shipping with insurance (because I never want to have an angry client because they opted not to purchase insurance and the quilt was lost), since almost all of my business is through the mail. I'm on the west coast, so quilters here charge a bit more than east of the Rockies (or so i've found) and when I tallied up the price for the same square footage as your client quilt, I came out just a little above your fee, so it just goes to show we are all around the same price for our time. I decided to go this route to keep it simple for myself, and I was also thinking about those times where you see a good deal on something and you want to buy it, but then they are all these miscellaneous fees that are tacked on so really it's not any better of a deal than buying it somewhere else. Our brains all think differently about what's a good deal, so I know that my prices probably seem high to some clients, but it usually all works out to be the same price as other quilters that itemize their fees. I enjoyed the story about the client and their thread. I'm with you, I want the customer to be happy and if she feels that saving $8 makes it a better deal, then i'm all for that. I'll just cross my fingers that the thread works out. :D
Is there a way to reach you? I have a few large quilt tops with batting and backing but am not confident enough to quilt it on my small home machine. I worked hard on the quilt tops and don't want to ruin them.
I have a question If you provide the batting Does the client bring you the back side of the quilt and you have to pull it all together to get it to the point it can be put on the longarm
"You gotta want the relationship more than just the money." Good motto to remember!!! Bless you!

I just found your channel and WOW I just love it! You are SO right about treating clients well so that they continue to come back. Great video!
Yes thank you so much..
Lorena THANK YOU! I just do my quilt tops for myself and family but I do have them quilted. Thanks for the tutorial. You're really fun to watch also. Thanks
Oh thank you so much!! For watching and taking your time to hang with me!
You are very professional! And I love your hair and makeup.
I’m so glad you took time to watch my video!!
Living for this wisdom. Thank you. Love your makeup too. 🌈
As a fellow quilter, thank you for sharing this video🥰
What a cool soul this woman is.
Ah how sweet
Lorena, I love love love you for sharing. You are one classy lady I must say. 🙏❤️
Ahh thank you so much really am thankful
Great advice, Lorena! I am new to long-arming and still struggle to decide what to charge. I have a few clients now and my work for them has run the gamut from E2E meander (.02/sqin) to custom quilting (.05/sqin). So far my clients have been very happy with my work and the price I charged them, so I guess I'm on the right track! Love your channel! :)
Thank you so much for taking your time to hang with me!
Pennie Barry I will be praying for you.. you will find big d a great longarmer.. 😊
Thanks for sharing your pricing philosophy. I appreciate your knowledge and wittiness!!!
Thank you so much!
Ohhh I love this so much!!! Thank you blessings and love to you too!!
Thank you thank you thank you!! I love your videos and I think all of your followers would agree that we are grateful for this particular topic!
thank you.
Your very nice Lorena, you are right about people leaving you with a yucky feeling, I don’t like to go back either. I hope your business does amazing!!! And I am sure that it will because you are a very special lady who cares!
Thank you for your wonderful comment!
thank you so much, Lorena. You have really helped me with pricing.
You have the right attitude. Well done. I wish you top business in the future.
Oh thank you so much!
Thank you so much ! Very valuable
info for free! Bless you my quilting friend.
Your so welcome!
You make a lot of business sense ! God bless !
Thank you so much!!
In Australia we charge per sq foot, with different rates for free motion, pantograph and custom etc. We also don’t charge a separate bobbin fee, we just include it in with the quilting costs. Thanks for sharing all that you do.
Oh thank you so
Much!
Thank you for this video! It answered a lot of questions and let me know what to expect when I look to have a quilt professionally finished ☺️
Yes!!! Their some great longarmer out there...
Love your honesty girl. I learned a lot. I would love to have a coffee with you. LOL I quilt my own quilts the old fashion way but I am really really jealous of your long arm.
Ahh thank you... I really appreciate it!
Thank you. :)
Oh yes revamp.. I was at .0175 and a lady got on my case... your time is valuable.., your skill is valuable..
No one is worth that ooky feeling.
Love this video❤️
Thank you right
Thank you!! I’m going to share your video. I have a couple customers who have come in and didn’t want to pay me for my work and accused me of trying to price gouge her ( I didn’t end up quilting it but she brought it in with holes everywhere and I told her she could fix it or I could for $12 an hour)
I didn’t care when she asked to pick it up and take it to someone cheaper.
I am not getting run over by customers anymore if I can help it
I don’t mind them bringing thread in but I have a list of thread brands
Oh hell no!!! It’s a business... you spend a lot of money on your equipment.. I’m not ashamed of charging what I do!!! If not I can do something else and do my quilts.. thank you for sharing I will pray for you to get good clients that see your value!
You are freaking awesome! I love your work ethic and your concern for the client. I've really learned a lot. Thanks so much.
Oh thank you so much.. I appreciate it!
Love your honesty. New subscriber and I don’t even know how to quilt, but I can sew.
Thank you for subscribing its a blessing. Nice to meet you..
Thank you!
Thank you for subscribing it’s a blessing!
You are soo down to earth and practical. I really appreciate and enjoy your videos! 👍🤗
Thank you so much for watching!! I appreciate it..
Thank you so much!
Honestly, I really enjoyed quilting my own quilt with my sewing machine. It was so therapeutic. It feels good to know I saved over $300 too!
Yes and it’s you who did it!
Praise Yah for your gentle spirit and talent--just like how those who crafted the tabernacle and its holy contents were blessed with their skills.
Thank you for being so kind!
That quilt is beautiful, its great what you do!!! I don't know what people charge, but I know people never want to pay what they are worth!! So we only make quilts for family and friends!! I am new here, looking forward to more video's. Thank you!!
Nice to meet you Jeannette.
Very informative and useful! Thanks for sharing. I love your style.
Thank you so much Jane!,
This is the first time i have watched you flower, but because of how you came across and just how you described your actions makes me wish you a wonderful quilting year flower.
Oh I love this thank you for sharing your heart with me ..💕💕. I really am growing in believing in my self!
Love your philosophy!! Not in your area but wish I was.
oh thank you so much... really appreciate it Sabrina..
Just happened on your video, and found it quite interesting. I always wondered how they figured the charge for doing a quilt. I would like to have a long arm machine myself. You're a very blessed person.
Thank you so much!
You go girl. Love your attitude.
Thank you so much.
I appreciate the way you do business! I wish other businesses has the same ethics! Thank you!
Thank you.. I really love it .. it’s more about blessing people with what I do .. that blessed me more than what I can get off of people!
Super interesting! I've never gotten a quilt long armed because it's not in my budget, but I am super interested in the business!
Right it’s such a different world.. I didn’t even know these machines excited til I saw one
Thank you for sharing such valuable info. All of your insights into serving your customers are spot-on for a great customer experience. Haven’t seen any of your videos before...I’m now a subscriber and will watch all the rest of them over the next week. Keep up your great work and thanks again!
Thank you so much!
Lorena...you are such a cool dude ! Thank you for sharing your business acumen......so good huny thanks
Thank you 💕
Would definitely use your service if you lived in Tasmania Australia, keep safe and well lovely lady !Just subscribed.
Hi, Lorena. I just found your channel, I appreciate you sharing what you have learned. I don't know if i'll ever do quilting for anyone or not, I have so much to learn yet and practice, practice, and practice some more. I think I need to do some binge watching. Thank you.
Thank you for watching .. so glad to meet you Pamela..
You crack me up! But your insight is outstanding! I pick up lots of tips from you. I too am a longarmer. Ty
thank you both for taking your time to comment .. I really appreciate it.
I love this video, you are so REAL...thank you! Would love to see more videos from you. I know that they take lots of work on your part but hope you can do them. I have subscribed.
I’m glad your here I appreciate it!
Lorena, I agree about that "yucky" feeling! I enjoyed the advice you give for pricing. Thank you for this tutorial.
I would charge for quilting 128$ dang they are high to me that’s a lot of games..
Yes be fair .. we want others to be fair to us... we should always do the same!
Thank you for sharing, your insight is invaluable.
Thank you so much!
I’m so glad you liked it..
Thank for sharing how you charge it’s really neat to see the difference!!
Ordered the fons and porter tape, thanks for the recommendation
Oh I love it.. I get it at Joann’s with 50% coupons..
First time watching you, have subscribed. You have a BEAUTIFUL voice.
Oh thank you.. yeah as I have done these videos people say my voice .. who would of thought.. I met some subscribers recently who saw me but weren’t sure then I spoke and they said it’s her.. 😂😂😊. It made me laugh!
Thank you! That is great information! and you are adorable. If I still lived in SA I would bring you my quilts! Bless you!
Amen thank you so much it’s a blessing to read your comment!
Love this and your work ...
Thank you thank you!
Lorena, You did help me with charges. Thanks!
I’m so glad I could help!
Love this episode. I have always wondered how much quilting costs. It definitely is worth it. What should a person due to make this a positive experience for both involved? You are a wise and make a lot of sense. Thank you.
Thank you so much for being so kind!
Okay
I have some videos I put on a play list for you on my process of custom quilting on video I share a table I made out of plex glass so I can design on the quilt top an Get the real dimensions of the quilt..
custom quilting ruclips.net/p/PLOM60mkpZ7aanu0GmVa6KOr85keWsytMf
In these videos I share aspects of how I go through the process of custom quilting
Blessings
Thank you for your comment! I appreciate it!
Does your pricing model include binding the quilt?
Lorena, I'm new to your channel!! Good stuff! I use Quilters Dream batting. You can buy it if you have a resale number and they do not have a minimum. You need one bag of crib size cotton batting and they will ship it. Good Batting! Thanks for the awesome video!
Really question how would I price it to sell to my clients?. I guess that’s why I stopped selling it and didn’t want to deal with the process of charging my clients!
Yup, .02/sq. In. Is very reasonable and truly fair. Great video!💙🐝💙
Thank you so much!
Thank you for your wonderful comment. I really do think that the simpler and clear you are to the client is the best for you and the clients.
Very good advice !!!!
Thank you
Excellent video
I am glad I found you video. This help me a lot. You are too cute
Oh thank you for being so kind!
Frankness much appreciated👍
Thank you!
Thank you so much for this video! 😊
Thank you!!
You are so very right, an honest and open relationship builds a repeat customer pool xxx
Yes.. it really does!!
Is there a way to reach you? I have a few large quilt tops with batting and backing but am not confident enough to quilt it on my small home machine. I worked hard on the quilt tops and don't want to ruin them.
yes you can message me on face book. Lorena Cadena or I have a Lorena's quilting Facebook group
I have a question
If you provide the batting
Does the client bring you the back side of the quilt and you have to pull it all together to get it to the point it can be put on the longarm
The client always provides back fabric .. many Aldo provide batting I just do it for some.. back and top fabric is theirs to provide me!
