- A breathwork routine comprised of the Wim Hof Method, Circular breathing and breath of fire.
this is something I've ben using on a morning to energise and wake up. The breathwork is comprised of techniques both in the gut and the chest so all areas get activated.
The breathwork works in a crescendo from 10 breaths of each modality to 15, to 20, hold the breath in at the end of each stack and then exhale fully to hold the pause at the bottom with empty lungs.
Oxygenation of the blood works better with carbon dioxide to facilitate the transfer of O2 from the blood into the tissues, so be sure to cultivate a CO2 culture by practicing the breath holding at the bottom, and mixing up the nose and mouth breathing, so the increased O2 levels can actually be effective. Nose breathing increases nitric oxide and oxygen uptake in the blood, while mouth breathing brings in the high levels of oxygen to integrate.
I'm still experimenting with different breathing techniques and learning a lot, I hope to make a video soon about Buteyko breathing which is something that seems almost opposite to what I'm doing here, but have also been getting great results from, so more soon to follow on that. Also feedback is welcome.
