Where's my fellow mom's that have used a child's leash when travelling? 😀 Did you feel judged? I decided to own it... because I love my child so much and I understand how quickly something can happen when I get distracted with travel, ticketing, deadlines, and busy crowds. I'll take safety over worrying about other's judgements any day! 😀 So Mama, don't you worry about what other's may think of you. You do what you know is best for your family. I'm expecting an interesting comment section below 😂

Many, many years ago when my son was a toddler, he would try to run off all the time if I let him walk. One time we were on holiday in Devon (UK) on a crowded beach and I was rearly stressed. Our daughter wanted to sit and play building sand castles, not our son. So I put his reins on him with a long leash so we could keep him close. Some lady came up to us and really berated us and said we should be ashamed of ourselves for treating him like a dog. I was mortified, but my husband told her in no uncertain terms to mind her own business. I never used it again 😢

Oh, Jeannine! I loved this so much. I was brought to tears as I watched your family worship and listened to the beautiful singing. It was such an encouragement to me. Zach was here in the room with me as I watched, and I mentioned to him how thankful I am to know there are still people like you all in the world. It is a great comfort. May God bless you always.

Wow, I was in Lincoln City at Christmas time with family also. I Iive south of Portland and we were in Newport for New Years. There are g

What a great video! Lexi is such a ball of fire! I love the way she keeps bending down to give Daddy a kiss when she is riding on his shoulders. I see nothing wrong with a leash for toddlers. To me, it's no different from putting a leash on a pet. You love them both and are only concerned with their safety. Whoever was the first person to complain about them obviously didn't have an adventurous baby. I am always smiling ear to ear when I see Lexi heading off on her own at full speed-whether it's the ocean or the woods. Luckily Xander helps keep her amused. They will always be best friends.

The Toddler Leash: Been there and one that! No judgement from this corner of the Deep South! A Winter Beach: Wonderful and so beautiful! Family time, especially for the young cousins...nothing like it to help build those long term relationships. How y'all parent...🤗 under God's leadership, delights my soul .KEEP praying, singing, laughing* and learning together, not fretting over wet and muddy clothes! *Though I know it's not easy, and I'm sure you have your moments when you aren't laughing , your laughter and joy is music to my ears. May the Lord bless you and keep you as you live, parent and grow in the Lord together. By His Grace, For HIS purposes!

In flying in & out of PDX you flew over my house.... As the crow flies, the airport's western/south western boundry is less than 4 miles from my house.
Staying in Lincoln City, you weren't too far from an old Mennonie camp called Drift Creek. They used to do family gatherings, but don't know if they still do or not.
It looked like the tide was coming in for some of your beach scenes & having kids chase an incoming tide can be fun. We did that with my sisters' kids 30 + yrs ago. They all have their own kids & grandkids now, so my sisters have that fun with their grandkids, great grandkids now.
I like seeing young kids "tethered" especially in this day & age. I know that 50 or 60 years ago you would see that occassionally & I liked the idea even then. It's too easy for a child to get separated & they don't have the verbal skills to say anything yet to say who they are.
And if they are on any spectrum, some of my sisters' grandkids are, then it is an additional safety feature for them as touch is an over load for them.
Glad you had a good time on our coast line & that you come back again...

We had a buddy for my son. It was a bear backpack with the leash. At the time it was hard to use, only because of judgement of people. Nowadays, I wouldn't care. I have discovered there are two basic camps of judging 1) They've never been in your shoes and are making the call on perception. In other words, they are ignorant. 2) They are miserable people and can't find constructive things to do except criticize others to deflect any notice of their own flaws. Are there times where we need criticism for our actions? I'm sure there is. How you deliver it makes a world of difference.
It looks like you had a lovely time with your family and I am so glad you had a nice trip. Lexi will not always be one, so these moments on trips will be vague memories. They grow up so fast!😮

Saved me a heart attack or two. I never felt bad using it. It seemed like a necessity with him. Looks like it was a wonderful trip. So glad to see there are kids your kids' ages. Looks like the adults had a blast too! One is a very busy age. My memories are of trying to keep my son alive. He went for every outlet, pulled a phone down on his head....busy, busy, busy. With my oldest, I never used a leash and I was totally judgemental in my mind. I never needed one with my oldest; she held my hand everywhere or was in her stroller. She would never venture too far and was careful on sidewalks and such. Oh boy I got a reality check with my youngest and the judgements melted away because I had to use a backpack with a leash briefly to help teach him crowds, road and parking lot safety. ❤️ Fortunately he caught on quickly. 🙏

I've never used a leash for my kiddos, but I sure wish I had one when my then 20 month old took off while shopping and went from clothes rack to clothes rack all the way to the mall opening. A kind older lady caught her for us. 😳

The way the world is a leash for a small child. I don’t judge parents who put them on their children. A child can be grabbed on blink of eye. Better to be safe than sorry.

You went a long way for your holiday. Lexie looked like she was in a trance at the baggage claim. She is up for every adventure with gusto. She must love being held in her Daddy's big hands.
I grew up at the beach in different states. When I saw that long finger of surf rushing up the sand I smelled the sea and salt water again. Thank you for sharing your adventure. I was hoping for a video from you today!

I used a leash on my son back in the 80s on an Amtrak train since he was a sleepwalker and it was an overnight ride in seats not a compartment. Just the peace of mind knowing that if he moved, I would feel it was worth it. Never judge when you see a child on a leash. It's for their safety!

That was smart! Sleepwalking is scary with littles. It runs in our family so I get it.

I did this with my daughter, the first time I hooked a dog leash to her belt loops at a event we went to and I had gentleman tell me, " at least you know where your child is"

I used a leash with my third daughter. She was quite and always sneaking off.. During the County Fair when I was busy/distracted with my older girls it was nice know she was “safe”. I did get comments but whatever 😜 It was 4 years ago!

My brother was an escape artist. Mum and Dad brought a proper child leash. My dad put it on my brother, looked down to put it on himself, when he looked back at my brother, he was handing it back to my dad having got it off. Mum used a rope after that, she said she felt terrible, but they couldn't use the proper 'leashes' as my brother would get out of them... but it saved him running out in front of a car.

My second child was an escape artist. I lost her in Disney
Land when she was 5 1/2. I love the leashes! I had one for my third kiddo and didn’t need it, but it it was worth having, just in case!

My only question is, when do little girls in your denomination start wearing dresses all the time like you do? Just curious. I had my baby girls in dresses full time from birth, but that was a preference for me. I wanted them to get used to it from the beginning. It's working out well. Even my oldest daughter, who is almost 18, is used to dresses especially in public even though she is a tomboy.
I remember running on the sand dunes at the Oregon coast when I was little. The scenes of you guys on the beach in Oregon brings back memories. Oregon was my home away from home growing up. My grandparents were there and my aunt moved there after her divorce and raised my cousins there. Now my parents are there. I am hoping that I will be able to go back there to see my parents this summer. I haven't seen them since my grandma and brother died in 2015.

I used a "harness" on all four of my children to keep them SAFE. Ignore the judgemental ones. We need to keep our children safe in a manner that gives us peace of mind, and if that is a harness, then so be it! Hugs for you!❤❤❤❤
