  • As much as our family loves to go camping, we didn't get out until the fall of this year. Where has the summer gone? However, we got to go at an incredibly beautiful time of year! What's your favorite time of year to camp?

Such a lovely family holiday. I wonder if the bubbles upset Lexie's tum, she did get a lot in her face. It is fascinating watching them grow up - Xander isn't that little one any more, he's really starting to shoot up and Lexie just has to keep up! She seems much older than she is, very game and wants to be doing everything y'all do. I love to see how undaunted some children are & it seems if parents are brave enough to let their little ones have a go they really will reach their potential with star lights!
Yes, it's all got a bit excessive, there's enough nastiness for real without wallowing in darkness. Stay fun & thanks for taking us along!

The children are getting so big! While I do like to decorate with autumn colors and pumpkins (non carved) that’s where I draw the line with Halloween; you phrased it well, ‘lightness and darkness don’t mix’. God Bless you and your beautiful family!

Thank you! I like that. One been tempted to let Xander carve a cute pumpkin but decided I didn't why to cross that line. Thanks for sharing your convictions.

@@theMennoniteMom Ive seen a pumpkin carving tutorial that ties it to the gospel, but we've never done it, it just seems too close to the other traditions, I dont know, I haven't ruled it out, maybe we can do it and just use it as a table centerpiece to talk about at meals and not as a porch decor. I mean Im all for xmas decorations that also have been tied to pagan traditions and history all gets blurry on he said she said on who did it first...I know you've done a video on that in the past also, I suppose its just like everything else, take it humbly to the Lord in prayer, listen for conviction and move on with life.

QUESTION OF THE DAY? 😀 What are your thoughts on Halloween? Is it just a silly 'spooky' holiday meant for fun and a thrill where children get to collect candy? or could it be a day where a lot of evil practices are taking place and we as Christians choose to not be aware of it?

    • @linak7155
      @linak7155 Год назад +1

My thought is that Halloween is a day about debauchery and darkness. As children of light, I want nothing to do with it.

When I was young, we grew up with Halloween. Times were very different. The world has grown more callous to evil. I live in South Texas, and now Halloween is all about the day of the dead. The sugar skulls as they're called are not pretty like a lot of people think they are. Darkness and light cannot coexistence. I'm all for Jesus and his light of goodness and love. You and Nolan are good parents and have a good family backing you. Keep to the light and you'll be alright! I just now made that up. 😊
      Love love your video ❤

I am on the fence with Halloween I agree with you on the extreme gory decorations getting put up each year.
We have Halloween decorations of not so gory stuff. We carve a cross or Happy face in pumpkins. We pass out goodie bags to trick or treaters in our area we get lots of them. Some years we pass out gospel tracts but this year we did not find what tracts we wanted to pass out. When we started to look our car ran into problem.
We just like bring lighthouse in neighborhood in darkened world. So we still pass out treats a have chili or tacos or pizza other fun stuff.

Totally agree - we as Christians should not partake in darkness - not even dip our little toe in something like Halloween! A local business in our community was planning on hosting a medium but a big group of concerned Christians encouraged the owner to cancel - explaining that exposing people and ESPECIALLY children to demonic activity is dangerous to say the least. We were so thankful that he canceled! Praise God!!! 🙌💞

My parents were married on Halloween in 1967. My dad wanted to be married to my mom before he shipped out to Vietnam the morning of November 1st. The only celebrating we ever did as a family on Halloween was to go out to eat at a fancy restaurant and celebrate my parents wedding anniversary. In my neck of the woods we always celebrated harvest festivals. Our church always put one on as an alternative, and I have such fun memories. The home made costumes the friends and candy the games we played. We never celebrated the darkness.surrounding the day, instead we made it about fun, And the wrap up to the end of a season. Now I hand out candy to the kids that come knocking on our door. I want our neighbors to know we are safe and it’s been a great way to meet them and yes there are those scary costumes and the darkness is real. But I get a chance to share kindness and a friendly smile. Because those people who are in those scary costumes still need Jesus too and there’s a saying that “kindness leads to repentance.” I’ve made it into a chance to meet my neighbors and be a friendly familiar face. 🥰🥰

We very much deslike Halloween, but i am thankful that here where we live are very minimal Halloween decorations mostly fall and thanksgiving!

I agree with you on Halloween. Definitely from the kingdom of darkness not of God. Beautiful family and beautiful camping trip. ❤ But if you train them in the way they should go they will follow God. I'm so looking forward to the future world of righteousness! Until then its encouraging to see young Christian families raising their families to honor God!

I definitely agree that Halloween is pure evil. I just cannot understand why born again believers would celebrate this day. Thank you for another beautiful holiday away. The scenery was absolutely magnificent, I now feel completely relaxed. Have a Blessed day.

When my children was growing up we celebrated Halloween with rules no scary costumes and our decorations consists of scarecrows, pumpkins, candy corn garland. Our goal is to celebrate the harvest in both October and November. The church we used to go to stressed it was harvest time and All Saints Eve and Nov. 1 was the day to honor our ancestors who have gone on to their glory with Christ.

Im a Christian-I put out pumpkins and silly Halloween decor-its not that serious, but I do not put out bloody scary demonic stuff either. Your videos are so good-what you capture how you edit is so brilliant - I feel like I am there sometimes-its done so well.

Enjoy your family videos so much. And I totally agree with you that a Christian should not celebrate Halloween. My husband and I raised six children and we never celebrated. I decorate for fall and Thanksgiving but I'm always very careful to not but out anything that might make someone think of Halloween.

I have a suggestion on Lexi not feeling well. My grandsons two of them used to get sick on camping trips. They ate more then normal or the lake or pond sometimes made them sick. ❤ just saying. Some had allergies. Might help iF you took benadryl.

What a great video I just love it. You need to Fran that picture of Xander you caught if home kicking and splashing in the water. So adorable.
Halloween. Use to be a big fan (not a believer) then c face my life to Christ. Even participated in trunk or treat at church. Now don’t celebrate it at all don’t like it has become more dark than I remember. Blessings

Adult celebrate Halloween cuz it's a holiday and for Satan. It tells us in the Bible. And for anyone that does that's between God and that person. Love the video. Y'all are such a blessed family, who loves the Lord and such a happy family. It's such a joy to watch y'all. Just remember God has favor over y'all. ❤❤❤❤

I really agree with your thoughts on Halloween! I so dislike what we are seeing and it does get worse every year. Why people want to expose such evil to their children is beyond me. God bless you for the Godly principles you are instilling in your children.

As a non-Christian. In Sweden, we are celebrating all saints day around your Halloween, and it is about putting candles in your loved ones' grave, remembering the people who passed away and honour them. The last few years, the American tradition of Halloween has come along, and I'm fine with that (the costumes and all), but it is forgetting the core of all Saints' days, which is what I think is sad as I like the tradition of the candles, gather around to remeber etc.
