Dear Xander, how you did bless my heart as you recited The Shepherd's Psalm even as you and your family toured the castle where our Anabaptist brothers and sisters were tortured and martyred for their faith. It brought tears to my eyes. God bless you, young man. May you always stay close, very close, to the Shepherd.

Such beautiful sights!!! Very powerful to hear Xander say the 23rd psalm after you spoke to him of the persecution. So happy you got more good days. Congrats to Lexi on her first two teeth! Surprised she doesn't realize it is Verboten to fall asleep on a stroll of Switzerland! 😆 The places you visited on your anniversary date are reminders that marriage is for better or for worse, until death do you part, a lesson society today is rejecting. I was definitely heart broken when you took us to the castle where they persecuted the anti baptist( Mennonites) So thankful we live in a free country. I watched on You Tube a special on this. It was awful yet so educational. Things I think we all should know.

So enjoy your video. We met some friends at a campground in Whitehorse Yukon this summer who are from Switerzland. They stopped to see us on their way back. I watched this video last evening then showed them parts of it this morning, They were very excited to tell us this is their home !!

It's a really beautiful place, I especially like how so many of the buildings have flowers all around them, just makes it look very colourful and pretty.
The culture there certainly is interesting and the food looks delicious... Agree also about American food being overly sweet, American cheese is very different to the cheese we have here in NZ as well as so much of the food being highly processed, looking forward to the next video

That cemetery was beautiful. I’ve never seen a cemetery with beautiful flowers growing all around the headstones.
What a neat video! The scenery is so beautiful and the history (I wish there was more added!) was humbling to see. What people went through always makes me appreciative of how life has been so far. While I have had trials and tribulations, I have had it relatively easy.

Lexie's such a good baby and she's so engaged, so blessed with her super family, Really enjoying this trip to Switzerland, I wanted to go when I was younger but always so expensive & not the easiest place to get to, but you are not having any problems getting about and there is SO much to see! Xander is SO lucky to be able to travel like this & see where he comes from - it will sink in one day. Hope you bought a crotal bell home with you!

I think the most sobering thing is that although we think we are so civilized and beyond persecution and martyrdom, history repeats itself, and this will happen again someday. Already we see our freedoms breaking down.

What a wonderful trip. I visit my family church every time I go to Kansas. Alexanderwohl Mennonite in Gossell , KS. It's general conference. I love walking through the graveyard and seeing names of people I remember from my childhood. My maternal great-grandparents are there.
The pasteries are what I miss most when I am back in Canada! Everything here is so sweet. When we are in Germany I enjoy a good Kaffee und Kuchen. We are heading back to my husbands hometown next Friday for Christmas!! wooohoo!

This brought back so many memories from our trip to Switzerland! It was so good to see familiar places like Chapel Bridge in Lucerne and the mention of Bern brought back memories of our wonderful time there. I'm already looking forward to seeing next week's video!

'Xander is a ray of sunshine---he never fails to make me smile! I confess to some tears as well as he quoted the 23rd Psalm while in the tower of torture and death. I have a feeling some of those martyrs were quoting the same thing, in a different language. Beautiful video.
