- ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL REGIONS IN GERMANY: The Swabian Alb is Joerg's homeland// We just returned from our visit to Germany. It was a short week filled with happiness and laughter because we were over the moon to see our families again. We tried to film as much as possible but sadly our time there was too short and we would have loved to show you more. We still hope you like the video. Today we share Joerg's homeland with you, the beautiful Swabian Alb. We also visited one of the most beautiful castles in Germany. If you ever visit the area, make sure to visit Castle Hohenzollern, we can highly recommend it. Kirsten & Joerg x

"Yup" two beautiful people inside and out having a good-time in life.
Thanks so much!
I could not agree more 😀👍
You are able to find beauty everywhere.
Thanks so much! So many gorgeous places in Germany.
When a person stays at home almost everyday now because of the Covid, to go to Germany with two good friends is a blessing. I so enjoyed the tunnel. Can't imagine. I did go under the ocean in an automobile on the east coast many years ago and it was a bit intimidating. But we made it. Thanks again for sharing your trip. Thanks for sharing a bit of high German with us as well. Thanks for sharing your home country.
Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel? That was an awesome experience, driving under the ocean!
The Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel is one of the wonders of the world. Wonderful experience!
Wow...beautiful scenery...wow..lots of walking and cold weather. ....
"The church was built in the 1920s, and I remember there were discussions about the style", Joerg, you really are looking good for your age!!!
Hahaha 😂 😂 😂
Both are looking younger than they are!!!
I don't know both, but I think, both are inside calmed and relaxed and outside two polite, friendly and loving humans.
Might Jörg be a time traveller? Would make sense! 😀 Thanks for sharing you two, Always nice to see familiar stuff!

Wonderful castle, stunning place, stunning view!!!Your eyes, your smiles are shining during your trip at your homeland!!!Thank you for sharing! Stay safe 👋❤️
You two are adorable! After seeing Joerg's homeland, I can understand why Europeans who visit Atlanta call our city the forested city. Germany's scenic views remind one of our beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains here in North Georgia. My 4th great grandfather settled in the Southern USA from Sersheim, Germany in the late 1700s to live and practice his cabinetmaking craftsmanship. He must have found it comforting that the terrain was so similar to his homeland. So enjoy your travels, cooking and shopping!
Thanks so much! Oh yes, very true, lots of forest in Germany which makes it quite special.
A big thank you, for all the beautiful discoveries.
You are a delicious couple and it is a pleasure to follow you. THANKS
I never realized how beautiful Germany is. Thank you so much for inviting us along. Y'all bring a smile to my face when I watch your videos. 😊
What a wonderful country! Ta
What a wonderful country!

Thank you so so much!
Ja, Deutschland ist auch schön. Beautiful countryside and very nice views in this. And those cakes!! 😋 I think you would have liked my part of Norway as well. The region of Nord-Østerdalen and the historical mining town of Røros, my mother’s hometown and where I spent a portion of my childhood. Just an hour’s drive from where I live. It is beautiful up here in the mountains and valleys. Although not as dramatical as the western and northern parts of our country. Thank you so much for showing me. Grüss aus Norwegen.
Oh my god, i'm so happy for you, with the interview! I was also happy with Joerg's happiness in his hometown and eating the famous black forest cake! I'm glad that everything went well, that you saw your family members and that you return with a full heart! it's comforting to see you guys like this! many blessings and PS: and as always, the places are breathtaking
Thanks so much!
Very beautiful and interesting. Just loved the way Jörg was beaming when eating his Schwartzwälderkirschtorte!
So beautiful can almost imagine Rapunzel letting down her hair
Fairytale!!!!Lovely!!!
Loved the swabian alps and the castle is now my new favorite. I love English castles and their gardens are stunning but this German castle is the prettiest castle I've ever seen. Thank you for taking us on your trip to Germany. It's a beautiful country for sure. I think the car train is very interesting and I've learned a lot. Your the sweetest couple.
The castle was fairytale..
Linda if you love this German castle, you should peruse RUclips for German Castles. They have some of the most stunning castles in the world. France has some amazing castles too xx
Kirsten you are amongst the cutest voices on utube, I simply click your channel just to listen for feeling better
Thanks so much!
Waited patiently for this video. Love love your videos 😊

Please keep sharing your videos they're beautiful.
I just loved the film, and may I say, I see you two as romantic love birds who don't waste time on nonsense and have a truly fine regard for one another and your time together. Cheers!
Two lovely people living a good and simple life. Love your videos. Thanks for sharing you videos of your hometown. Very interesting.
So lovely
Thank you!
@@KirstenJoerg Hello from America. I just think you're videos are so adorable. I even added your videos to my Facebook page.
Wow what a beautiful castle.god bless
So beautiful, nothing like going home and seeing family. So happy you got to visit. Thanks for sharing.😍🥰
Kirsten and Joerg, Oh the video was wonderful of your time in Germany. I have a special place in my heart for Germany as I lived there in the early and mid 70s. It was glorious. I was able to visit so many castles and see the country side. The food was excellent. Being gluten free would be so hard considering your wonderful bakeries. I am most grateful to all the Europeans who left their homeland and came to America hundreds of years ago and settled this country I live in. I must say, however, Germany has romance and magic I don't find in America. Thank you for sharing your lives. Much love. Be safe.
One of my favorite memories of Germany is coffee and cake. So many fantastic cakes.
Это ОЧЕНЬ ОЧЕНЬ прекрасное путешествие👍👏👏👏
Торт 'черный лес' мы давно любим.спасибо за фильм.привет из России🤝
Joerg, your region of Germany is very beautiful and the castle is lovely!
I love it when you go to restaurants/cafes and show us the food/cakes… yummy
God Bless you both
Süsse Stückle...such a long time ago, my Grandma called these in such a way...she was from Bad Mergentheim / Hohenlohe ❤️
Absolutely LOVED this! Jorge looked so happy!
Beautiful place to grow up.
Thank you for sharing some lovely places with us. The castle is beautiful. Glad you are back xx
Thank you so much Sandra!
I love your videos, I lived south of Munich for 5 years and my second daughter was born in in Munich . We had a lovely 5 years and my husband worked 5 more years in Bad Godesburg near Bonn he now has dual nationality. You were not far away from where we live now when you were in Glastonbury high street a few weeks ago . Hoping to make a trip to Germany soon and speak Bavarian .
Thank you for a wonderful tour xx
Thank YOU so much for watching Catherine!
Beautiful indeed 🙏Much Gratitude for your loving presentations 🎵💛🎶✨🎼
My family spoke high German and were very proud people. My family settled in northern Michigan in the US
What a beautiful place
You two do make me smile.... ☺️thankyou for this vlog..always a treat. 😍👍💕And Nice pastries/ cakes 🎂yummy 🍰🎂🍰🎂🍰
How exciting for Jorg to visit his hometown. I love you both you are delightful 💝🙋 from South Australia. My ancestors came from Prussia 💜
So pretty I love the pace you two take it is very relaxing watching your shows. Thank you Mary
Happy, kind people, sharing their interests with us all. Thank you
I honestly have to say Kirsten and Joerg; this road trip with you has almost brought me to tears. That castle, the gate, the statues and the View- no words.💖 that was the most peaceful beautiful Cemetery I have ever seen in my life! The look on Joergs face while eating his cake was pure Bliss I have never seen him look like that before; I suppose it's the location and the authentic cake. This definitely proves to me that I must come see Germany my ancestors Homeland in person. That whole area around the castle the forest and what not just beautiful. I know I'm rambling on but I have truly been moved on this video. The view from the back seat which I never get shotgun LOL was just breathtaking! Much gratitude for sharing this video. Safe travels, blessings and much love
Beautiful country with great views. Growing up in Germany I'm surprised you don't have a accent
Sounds like you had a good mom❤ and he loves his homeland so nice to see
I remember little bits of one Summer holiday when we were in Germany...we visited Altina Castle. Mom still has the pictures. And when I heard the church bells ringing it took me back to the sixties! lol When we moved back to Canada, Sundays were strangely quiet of church bells. Funny how the sound took me back to being 8 years old! Thanks for sharing...a surprise trip down "memory lane".
How absolutely wonderful Debra, thank you!
Amazing as always. Thank you for sharing @Kirstenandjoerg. 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺.
Wow can't believe how fast your wee trip has flown by but at least, as you say you got to see your family. Thanks for giving us all a sneak peek at where you both are from. Such different architecture and stunning mountains and forests. The cakes look divine. Rest well from your travels.
Thank you for the wonderful insight into your childhood hometowns 🇦🇺🇦🇺
That holiday flew over! It was so generous of you to use your valuable holiday time to make interesting and enjoyable videos for us. Thank you.
What fun to travel with you two and see your childhood home towns and the beauty around them. I was quite tickled with the folks in small villages listening in to check you two out. 😌
Born and raised in a very young country, when I visit the Uk and Europe, the age is palpable. Germany is very beautiful and I want to visit when safe flights resume. The pastries look amazing. Thanks for sharing your fairytale castle and village. Canada is huge and beautiful coast to coast to coast and though trees abound, castles are scarce. Love your vids. 😘🇨🇦
Thank you so much for taking us on vacation with you both. I love everything that you do in your videos. You really could make travel videos because you have talent. I can see that for you. Love U 2. You almost feel like family. Beautiful souls!!!!!!!!
ENCHANTING! FROM THE PEOPLE TO THE VIEWS! SO GRATEFUL TO YOU FOR INVITING US ALONG...!!!!! ❤
You two are so lovely and so good at sharing your adventures and thoughts. Thank you.

Joerg's homeland is beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing!
Thanks once again to you both💕🌹
I was flabbergasted to hear you speak of “high German”! My grandparents always joked that they spoke low German but the priest used high German. I always thought they meant that they used slang or intermingled English with their German (which they did). Now I’ll have to research this business of high German. I really want to express my appreciation that you took time out to do TWO videos for us! I know when I go home, I don’t have any time for much besides visiting family. Thank you so much for taking us for another peek into your lives! Side note: I’m in jeans and sweatshirts when I go home- kudos to you for wearing dresses and looking so lovely!
@ Genia Klein High German is “Standard German” which uses the official pronunciation. This is the same in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and is understood by everyone speaking German. It is used for everything “official”, which is why it is spoken at church. Low German (Plattdeutsch) is a regional dialect spoken in the north of Germany along the coast of the North and Baltic Sea. It is influenced by Dutch and English.
It's as in England one refers to "The Queeen's English" - it's the official formal version of English with it's unique accent. Similarly there is High German in Germany - it's the offical formal version of German with it's particular accent.
@@ich8159 however the "high" in "High German" doesn't mean it's "better" or something like that. It's just that low German was spoken in the northern low lands and high German was spoken in the southern high lands.
Standard German is also called "High German" because it is loosely based on the Southern Grammar and words, although it doesn't match any of the Southern dialects. Low German is very different though and has much more resemblance to Dutch than to modern Standard German.
@@maximilianmustermann5763 - I think your comment was intended for Genia Klein as she was the one who thought there would be a social implication. If you read my comment you will find that I am explaining the geographical aspect and influence by Dutch.

Thank you so very much for sharing!
I thoroughly enjoyed the history of this beautiful country.
God bless.
So beautiful the castle sometimes it seems like a village of his own and your music soooo nice thanks to both of you ❤️🌹
Thank you for the views of the castle and countryside. The architecture of these homes is so interesting and beautiful. The roofs on the houses are so charming and all of the vines, trees and shrubs growing everywhere. Just beautiful. Our country is only about 250 years old. We have none of the history that you have. Ours is short in the grand scheme of things. Again thank you for sharing. It was good you had time with your families. That’s what was most important.
Wow Joerg, you grew up in a stunningly beautiful place!
I'm Swabian on my father's side so this was delightful for me to see. Thank you so much for all of your amazing videos. 🙂
Lovely area where Joerg is from. If I ever get to Germany, I’ll surely visit that castle.
Stunning views of your homeland Joerg.....thank you so enjoyable!
Your video made me want to learn about the history of Prussia and the castle. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home town joerg ...and special visits with your family and exceptional country vistas
Thank you for that. I was awoken at 4 and thought I’d watch this with a cup of tea. It was so lovely and you’re both so sweet 😊
Thanks so much Susana!
Thank you for this gorgeous video. !!!
This is a beautiful video. It's so nice to see Joerg so happy in his lovely hometown and the gorgeous scenery surrounding, and the obvious love you both have for your family. It's also great to see how you manage a big trip and have a great time while still respecting and following the safety rules. You do what you can, and you accept what you cannot do. Like making that big steep hike to the castle instead of taking the tram. Very inspiring. Thank you!
Thank you for taking us along! I love it. ❤️🙋♀️🥂👍
Kirsten and Joerg- I am so glad that you had a lovely week at home. The views you shared were fantastic! What a beautiful castle! And those cakes...I’ll take a slice of both. 🥰 to you both -Courtney
Just found your channel. It was very lovely watching this video. The Swabian Albs, too, is my homeland. I have been living in Canada for the past 37 years. I come from the Valley of the River Danube, not very far from the region and the Zoller Burg, you have been visiting on this trip. Thank You for posting. It really is a beautiful area.
Oh das ist ja toll - ganz liebe Grüße!
Finally... glad to have found people around my age doing beautiful videos of Germany! Thank you very much! Love your videos!
I just adore you two. KIRSTEN. Your hair looks better now, sorry, but before it was rather orange. I like Jorgs new hair color too. You guys are so calming to watch and I'm glad you are doing the walking. Love your style of communication. I enjoy you and your view of places you visit. Fun fun!!!!!! Thank you!
Thanks so much! Lol, we didn't change our hair colour though.
Wonderful trip, very handsome castle, beautiful scenery, “Beckerei” goodies, pretty villages! Love Germany! (Marzipan gefullte Kuchen would be my pick😜😋👌🏻☺️)
Thank you for taking us along!🤗
It was so lovely to see where Joerg was born and brought up, the village of Bitz so pretty and the castle stunning if the inside was comparable to the outside it must have been wonderful. Thank you both for sharing💖
Glad that you both had a great time. Jorge home town is very lovely. The Castle is beautiful. Safe trip back.
I loved all of this, Germany is beautiful. The view of the castle from the last portion was picturesque....romantic. Our roots have a way of calling us home. Thank you☺️🌲
it is a beautiful place. You know you took this trip to Germany for a specific family related reason. Making content for this channel rightly is lower on your priority list. Family first. I'm glad you got to catch up with everyone.
Thank you !!!🌹🌹🌹
You are both so polite! I would have called that person listening in 'nosey' instead 😂. Such a lovely vlog, Kirsten and Joerg. It took me right back to visiting Germany in the '80s. You have a beautiful homeland and it was a privilege to be a guest on your tour xox
Being nosey is kind of a thing especially with older people in the Swabian lands. They want to know what everybody is doing. If you have an old Swabian woman living on your street, she'll probably know you better than you know yourself
What a lovely area, thank you for showing us! You are the most charming, warm and friendly couple, I would love to meet you! Waving from across the Pond from the Nation's Capital in the U.S.!
How delightful to see where Joerg grew up. The castle is beautiful. Thank you both for sharing your Germany trip with us. Very much enjoyed this video!! You two are so lovely. Take care... Be safe...💕
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!!! Want to see more! ♥️😍😁
Thank you for sharing!! Beautiful!!!
The love of going back home to your childhood. Living in Minnesota during the pandemic I lived 7 hours from the Canadian border and then another hour across the border to my childhood memories in Winnipeg Manitoba. It might have seemed close , only 1 hour Minnesota across the border and yet it may as well have been a million. I did not go mostly because I have people here in Minnesota that need me back to my home in Minnesota. It is still hard for me to make that jump in my head and trust that I can cross the border trusting as I once did. I am grateful for all the times I did travel back before the world change with child like trust and no thoughts of coming back home without restrictions.
I have never been to Germany so found this really interesting. So glad you got to see your family and friends xx
Dear Kirsten and Jeorg. Thank you for sharing this BEAUTIFUL video. What an absolutely wonderful place to grow up in!!! My son would have loved to have been born there! He loves that type of topography and scenery , just gorgeous! Although we do have the Pinelands here in New Jersey, US. He photographs quite a bit in our local forests but he has gone West to our HUGE National Parks for hiking and photographing bears and bison etc and of course for the amazing landscapes. I hope you get to visit your very beautiful hometown often!
thank you both so much. Prior to Covid I travelled a lot, and after seeing this, it is a part of Germany I will certainly visit. gorgeous.
