I must say, I enjoyed all of it, less so the trophies off stuffed animals, although I'm aware that the hunting was very popular back in the days. The tartan curtains and the seating area are so Scottish that they are truly to die for. Makes want to go and pack and get immediately on a flight to the Scottish Highlands. My favorite home stay.

Aww thanks! No, I don't think I would really enjoy it to be honest, I'm not perfect and a lot of people booking tour guides are quite pedantic and look for perfection which I'm simply not. It would take out all the fun for me.

It would take forever just to get out of the room there was so much to enjoy and appreciate. I love vintage books and I see they had volumes of his poetry. No I am certain I would not have left until I had composed several of my own. Such an art collection. Oh well another weekend I’d be going home broke. I had to say eggs Benedict is my absolute favorite breakfast.
You mentioned the population was about 800. My son lives in a town of about 600 in the Mid Western USA. So thankful my grandchildren got to grow up in a small town environment!

Lord Byron’s coat is really a unique feature in this room. I’ve never seen anything like that in a hotel room, but clearly this an exceptional room. And the whiskey bar was stunning. I don’t drink, but I really enjoyed the beauty of the bottles lighted with warm, golden light.

It deeply amused me, Kirsten, when you said the Picasso looked 'so nice' against the wallpaper. Picasso as interior decoration....... I would have felt suffocated in your bedroom, but the hotel is everything that is quirky and eccentric about the British, as well, of course, as being utterly lush (aside for the taxidermy, I'm afraid). The art pieces and collections were phenomonal.
Many thanks! Well, what I actually meant that the colours of the Picasso painting looked so nice against the tartan fabric. Oh we didn't feel suffocated in our room at all as it was so big and it's simply the style of the hotel, we absolutely loved it all.

What a spectacular and interesting looking hotel! I love the juxtaposition of traditional decor and modern art. My husband was drooling over the whisky bar, and I could certainly do damage in the gift shop! I would love to go there in the fall to dine on Wild, but so would everyone else judging by the prices then. Glad you got to experience the place, and happy that you took us along. It is indeed spectacular! The whisky bar was absolutely amazing, although I don't drink it, it was simply wonderful to just sit there. It's so beautiful! Yes, it's quite pricey all year round (I think the Nature & Poetry rooms are absolutely stunning too and more than enough sizewise). Have a lovely week too.

What an absolutely stunning historical Hotel Fife. I love the eclectic displays and all the Art on the walls. I ❤️🎨🖌🖼 . We love hiking on trails too. We have been to Scotland a few times but we have never been to Braemar, Aberdeenshire. Now it’s on my bucket list for sure! Love the boot room, but not a fan of the animal heads on the wall or the taxidermy hanging around, but it isn’t a deterrent from the rest of the Hotels Art. Joerg is such a romantic 🥰. Lord Byron’s coat is really a unique feature in this room. I’ve never seen anything like that in a hotel room, but clearly this an exceptional room. And the whiskey bar was stunning. I don’t drink, but I really enjoyed the beauty of the bottles lighted with warm, golden light.

I would have felt suffocated in your bedroom, but the hotel is everything that is quirky and eccentric about the British, as well, of course, as being utterly lush (aside for the taxidermy, I'm afraid). The art pieces and collections were phenomonal.
Many thanks! Well, what I actually meant that the colours of the Picasso painting looked so nice against the tartan fabric. Oh we didn't feel suffocated in our room at all as it was so big and it's simply the style of the hotel, we absolutely loved it all.

What a spectacular and interesting looking hotel! I love the juxtaposition of traditional decor and modern art. My husband was drooling over the whisky bar, and I could certainly do damage in the gift shop! I would love to go there in the fall to dine on Wild, but so would everyone else judging by the prices then. Glad you got to experience the place, and happy that you took us along. It is indeed spectacular! The whisky bar was absolutely amazing, although I don't drink it, it was simply wonderful to just sit there. It's so beautiful! Yes, it's quite pricey all year round (I think the Nature & Poetry rooms are absolutely stunning too and more than enough sizewise). Have a lovely week too.
@@KirstenJoerg For grins Tom checked the prices for this weekend and the first weekend of October, and it was a couple hundred more per night in Oct.! I'll bet it's beautifully decorated for Christmas, although the weather is probably dreadful. Then again, whisky and fireplaces.... 🙂
Well thats it sorted. Going to my brothers in Stirling next month and we wanted to find a nice hotel, in the highlands, for our joint birthday - twins. And i have found it. now comes the hard sell

What an absolutely stunning historical Hotel Fife. I love the eclectic displays and all the Art on the walls. I ❤️🎨🖌🖼 . We love hiking on trails too. We have been to Scotland a few times but we have never been to Braemar, Aberdeenshire. Now it’s on my bucket list for sure! Love the boot room, but not a fan of the animal heads on the wall or the taxidermy hanging around, but it isn’t a deterrent from the rest of the Hotels Art. Joerg is such a romantic 🥰. We love Braemar and the Cairngorms. Nest month we hope to take our Motorhome to the Lowlands of Ayreshire and Dumphries. We love Scotland. We had a lovely wedding day two weeks ago and honeymooned in Whitby. A beautiful and picturesque seaside town. Thank you for the memories that you have brought back to mind. Dave and Sophie xxx
