I think you gave an honest opinion. I personally still would go with the Anker because you do not have to attach it to the phone to charge it (and if you charge it via usb-c, it actually charges faster), it provides more charging capacity (especially with the 14 and 15 pro max models), and has that kickstand. Apple’s MagSafe cannot do any of this, and it was designed prior to the 14 and 15 models, so the capacity hasn’t changed. The Anker gets hot, because it’s output is higher. If Apple upgraded its output, it would also get hot…and they will not upgrade it…because of this.
Agree with your points. I also mentioned on the video about being able to use with the cable. Thanks your your comment.
Just got mine today and it’s not hot at all. I was prepared for it being hot but it’s just really slightly warm. Amazing product love it.
@betlog.reveal port is on the bottom
Has he told us it gets hot already ? just wondering if I missed that
Yup, I just did.
The Apple MagSafe battery pack is way better for your iPhone battery. The Anker charges constantly and gets way too hot. The Apple product is made for iPhone and has all the protectionist features necessary to save your battery health in the long run
Thank you ☺️
I’ve had the 633 model and it was HOT. One year later, the powerbank can’t be charged nor charged anything at all. It just stopped working after the one year warranty. I’ll buy Apple’s even if it’s pricey, but I can ensure it’s quality.
Thank you for the comment and sharing your experience.
Thanks for your review. I bought same anker 622 magGo . Hardly use it for 10 charges. on very first charge i felt phone n battery pack getting overheated. First i thought it could be issue with the case that i have on my iphone 14 pro. I tried on different cases including apple's original magsafe case but overheating with Anker's magGo was persistent. I recommend users to not buy this pack for iphone.
I am planning to buy original apple battery pack now. Thanks for sharing your genuine feedback here. Its helping user to avoid products that are not up to mark.
Thank you for the encouraging comment. Glad you found it useful. Appreciate it.
I am using another model from Anker, powercore Magnetic 5K. So far i haven't faced any issues. No matter which magnetic power bank, make sure that the surface you keep the phone doesn't vibrate , like keeping it next to a speaker with high bass OR a desktop which is too wobbly and shakes due to hand movements.
That is a very good point. I have tested 622 battery pack in normal conditions and it gets hot. I will check out Powercore from Anker. Thank you for the comment.
@@IncrementalNova did that make any difference?
I know why yours is less hot, that is because it's made of hard plastic , this Anker 622 is made with soft materials and their biggest one the 10000 mAh is made of hard plastic like yours too and there is less heat apparently but it's way to bulky even for a big guy like me with a 14 pro max lol
I was thinking of getting this but I already have the cheaper Anker one with no issues. I think I will stick with that. No little kickstand but that’s ok.
Wise decision my friend 😊
I received this charger last week and returned it today. It got entirely too hot, and had my new 15 pro max telling me it needed to cool down.
I love the size and weight, but the heat was a deal breaker.
Thanks for the comment. Unfortunately for me it had past the return date.
I noticed the same issue with my 622. I only use it when I don’t have access to other charging options. I’ve gone so far as to carry a short USB-C to Lightning cable and plug it in instead of using the wireless capability. I purchased the 622 on sale, and us it occasionally, so I only slightly regret my purchase.
Exactly what I am doing with my 622. Got it on discount and use it sometimes but while traveling always prefer apple MagSafe.
Then beats the purpose of a magsafe battery pack. I have an old thin battery pack with wire from aliexpress which I still use.
I have got the same MacGo Anker as you , and their new one still 5000mAh but with the USB C port on the side , and yes on the older model like the blue one you have it tends to get pretty hot but only when the phone is like from 0 or 10% to 40% .. after hitting 40% battery it's getting just a bit warm but not hot, on their newer models it's a bit better, but I recommended only using these battery packs from other brands when you have no power outlet and need some juice, I would never use this everyday ... one funny thing, I just got my second rhinoshield solidsuit case for a 14 PM , and I made the mistake to snap the battery for like 1 hour on it , and after noticing how hot it was, I said to myself that I should take the case off to let the phone cool a bit more, and I've noticed that this brand new case that I got today already got a ring mark on it's back but it's hardly noticeable... but this means that it would be better to use either a thiner case like silicone one , or no case... the phone will not be damaged of course, but the lifespan of the battery will be in the long run cos heat is the worst enemy of a battery ... it's weird cos I think these battery packs from Anker charges only at 7,5 watts... and when I compare the heat with the regular magsafe puck who can charge up to 15 Watts, it stays pretty cool in comparison ... ( I think Ankers MacGo start charging at 7,5 watts and that is why it's quite hot, but when the phone hits like 40% battery remaining it must go down to 5 Watts , that would explain why it's cooler after a while ... does the one can charge as much battery % compared to the 5000 mAh Anker one ? ( with they would release a black model of this battery )
Thank you for sharing so much information and commenting 🖖🏼
Thanks mate . Thats the review i am looking for . You saved my hard earned money . Thanks again
Glad it was useful.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS USEFUL REVIEW 👍🏻
You are welcome my friend 😊
The Anker 622 has an upgraded version, where it will manage heat quite a bit better. Just a heads up for anyone watching this video, and the poster. 😊
Happy to hear that. Hopefully this upgraded version is not so bad. Have you used it ?
@@IncrementalNova I’m using it currently. I never used the first gen. because of this reason. The upgraded one does get warm but not hot.
@@Dav1dwuzhere Hey can you tell me which one are you using?
Thank you for your honesty. I was about to purchase one. I definitely won’t now
Just trying to share my experience, glad you found it useful.
I just returned mine for the same reason. My phone kept telling me it was getting too hot.
I really had high hopes from it but couldn’t risk heating my phone 📱
@@IncrementalNova Personal opinion don't use the anker at the same time you are watching alot of video the phone and battery will get really hot. This charger is great to get you out of a low battery but need wait around 20-30 and not use it or phone will over heat. I got mine because there are times I do not have access to charging capabilities such as when i Go camping or in a strange place and need GPS wanting to extend battery life. 1 apple MagSafe cost is 3 Ankers. If you want a really cheap charging solution this is the way to go. Apple is more durability .
Bro the Anker 622 is a fast charging wireless charger... It's GOING to get warm but not HOT. If yours got that hot you should've contacted Anker.
I've had multiple Anker powerbanks including the 622 which I've used for much longer than 6 months and it's been in my pocket during hot summer days while being outside and I never felt it got "hot". The apple one I specifically did NOT buy because from what I've heard as soon as it gets a little warm it shuts off power to your phone. Also, as of the writing of this comment apple no longer sells their MagSafe powerbanks.
Good point but as a normal user it is not a great experience. Thanks for the comment.
Thank you so much for this honest update
Glad it was helpful, thank you for the comments.
@@IncrementalNova of course it is. I was about to buy this one. You have saved me some money and my phone battery. God bless ❤️
Honestly, the problem with the apple battery pack is not that it is bad. It is not that it only charges half of your phone or even less. The problem is that it is overpriced. I just got it for 90€ and I am about to test it out for now, but it is so damn weird cause I am only used to big power banks so when my phone charges for like half an hour and I see the Apple battery pack lost like 40% or more is weird. :D
I really loved the price and look of the anker one. The newer version, 633, is too big for me.
But honestly... I never need a whole power bank with me during the day. I can throw my old one into the backpack for emergencies and use the apple one to carry with me during one day trips. I plan on just letting my phone decrease to maybe 60% and then slapping this thing on so that it goes back to 90%.
Even though I hate the lightning cable, it is kind of nice not to have to worry about carrying a different cable with you. My airpods pro, phone and power bank all use the same cable now and the same charger. You can also charge both at the same time so that's really nice.
Thank you so much for the detailed comment. I couldn’t agree more with your statements. I use the Apple MagSafe in a similar way and can say that it performs really well for the purpose it is build for.
Get used to usb c now rather than later imho. I never, ever need a lightning cable. As soon as I could (years ago) I stopped using lightning, it is the worst cable in terms of power and throughput and Apple should feel bad about having tried to force everyone to use it lol
To clarify; I wirelessly charge everything on a dock at night, and I have magnetic cables that fit any of my devices so I never need a dedicated lightning cable.
I just bought it at Verizon 72 hours ago and my wife told me it got so hot while her using it the iPhone said charging will resume after temperature cools down. I was told that the maker would last 12 hours which is weird because it’s only 5k mAH her iPhone 14 pro max didn’t even get a full charge only 48% on a fully charged bank. I’m returning it and would not recommend this anker bank not worth it. And I like anker but it really failed on this one and the advertisement really failed here box said adds on 17 hours yeah no.
Thank you for the comment. I see this behavior consistently, and that confirms my assumptions that Anker still needs to fox the heating issue.
Thank you, your review is very valuable
Glad it was helpful!!
Wow thank you for this review. You just save me some bucks.
Glad it was helpful 😊
Thanks for the update! It was helpful to know before I bought an Anker batter pack!
Glad it was helpful, thank you for the comments.
Does the power bank get hot or the phone? Be more clear.
Both actually.
A lot of people complain how the Apple MagSafe powerbank is often slow to charge, or sometimes stops charging.
That’s the thermal management working as designed, in conjunction with the iPhone. If the Apple battery detects high temperature, then the battery pack will slow down or temporarily stop charging. The Anker MagSafe only have thermal protection for their power pack and not the phone.
Couldnt agree more with you in this case. Apple MagSafe Powerbank is a very well tuned and configured to work with iphones.
I bought anker maggo previous year now battery got swelled from side😡
both of these products are different things. the apple magsafe battery pack is kind of like a battery extender, whereas the anker 622 is a power bank. both the products have serious flaws but at the end of the day, anker wins. i can give pros and cons of both the devices: pros of apple magsafe battery pack is that it charges at 15 w, is light weight, has a minimal design, and doesnt heat up. cons of apple magsafe battery pack is that it has less mah, it only gives 50 percent charge, doesnt have a stand which can be pretty useful for many consumers, and is more expensive. on the other hand, pros of anker is that, it has more mah, it gives almost 70 to 90 percent charge (im not sure, but gives more than apple), comes with a stand, also has minimal design. cons of anker is that, it charges at 5w, little heavy, and heats up a little. for me anker takes the win as it is cheaper, gives more charge in less time, has a good functional design, with some minor flaws which are covered by the benefits of having this product. just an opinion.
Thank you for your comment.
Apple MagSafe battery is also 7.5 w
There is no 15w wireless battery pack
Have you considered that you may have a faulty product? The one that I have has never gotten more than warm. And it barely does that, I've never had mine heat up even close to being uncomfortable so makes me think you may have something wrong with yours
I tried it with multiple iPhone … 12, 13, 12 mini and now 14 pro too. I am seeing the same behavior.
Ive had so many third party MagSafe portable chargers over the year, all of them were very effective in charging my phone but then stopped working after a month of use. The apple MagSafe one is ok not as good as the third party ones and it’s expensive but it is really effective for long term imo.
I completely agree with you 👍
That's funny I have had my anker for 2 years and I used it a lot and it never failed on me. It never hot got just slightly warm and I just recently bought a new one because I lost my other one.
I've had Anker battery banks that are 5 years old and still work perfectly, can't even tell if there is reduced charging capacity. I love Anker.
The apple magsafe battery is too low capacity even new, and only comes in the cheap looking white option
Same on here; i’ve changed anker to apple magsafe for hot issues; anker is not intelligent actually; just a simple tiny powerbank
Agree, I was so happy with it for few weeks but then realized it is not that good.
I’ve been eyeing both. Thx u for your review. I know which to get now.
Just trying to share my experience of using them for few months. Glad it was helpful.
which one did you get? and was it a good option?
@@aswinbiju4038- the Apple mag safe. Definitely the RIGHT choice for me.
What is the best way to use the iphone battery bank? Do you let your battery get low to like 30% then put it on or do you keep it on and charge it allday till it dies then take it off ?
I usually let the phone battery drop to 30 to 40% and then keep it on until it charges to 80%. I find this pattern to be working well for the battery health.
Great b honest review. Have reviewed the esr 5000 or 10000 battery bank? MagSafe? With stand. Curious on your opinion on those ones.
I have not yet but can plan. Thanks for the feedback.
RESPECT!
you saved me man. thank you!
Glad it was helpful 😊
I just got mine today because I'll be going on a trip and I did notice that right away. It's getting very very hot and I just got it, Thinking of returning it.
If you have a chance to return them I would recommend that. For me it was past the return window so stuck with it. I use it will cable now as a regular battery bank.
I think i will not going to buy it then… few recommending belkin 5000mah.. i change my mind and buy it for my 14 pro max
@@Robin-Hood21 i heard the newer one is way better the Anker 633. I’ve heard that that one doesn’t heat up. I just really liked the 622 because of the size. The 633 seems a tad bit bulkier.
@@paulavasquez1816 633 is bulky for sure... Most of indian reviewers recommending belking 5000 because of its hard magnet... Anker 633 is more exoensive here 🫣
Thanks for the honest review, did u get a chance to check the temperature? Also do u know if the latest one Maggo 633 does have the same hot issue?
Didn’t measure the exact temperature but it was hot enough to damage the iPhone battery.
I have not used 633 so cannot share any issues with it.
Thank you for your comment 😊
@@IncrementalNova I own both 622 older model and newer model with usb C on the side and this one is less hot , and I owned also 633 which is way too bulky but this one doesn't feel as hot , but imho it comes down to the materials used, I love the soft touch of the 622 with it's foldable stand , I sold my 633 , and just got their updated 622 which is a nice improvement, but it's still hot for the first 20 to 30 % it will charge ...
i did, and for a half of hour i had 39C is too bad for iphone battery , im so sad i loved
@@AngeAlexiel is the new model still getting hot or is it just getting warm?
@@A_I_GHOST sorry English isn't my mother tongue, in my experience with these Anker Magsafe Battery they can be warm but not hot ( unless you use it on a hot day for example , which i would not recommend ) cos Batteries do not like being too hot.
I had bought twice and had the same issue with Anker power bank
A1291H11 do not buy this model!!!! I spend around 160 dlls
Thank you for the comment !!
hi does it charge automatically without pressing the button?
Yes, it starts automatically
Thank you ❤
You are welcome 😊
new anker 321 solves the heat issue ! And its ever cheaper!
Thank you for sharing the info. I will check that out.
It’s a bit late for me to watch this cuz I already got the anker (only used it once so far and it definitely does get hot but I bought a refurbished one online for almost half the price. I’m using it for a trip to Busch gardens) I wanted to ask how long it takes to charge the battery pack itself?
Well, it depends on what charger you are using but I have seen it getting charged with a 20W Anker charger in 4 hours completely.
Hello. Can I charge Iphone 11 pro with Anker 622 MagGo ? I know it is not magnetically attracted to the iPhone 11, I mean with cable
Yes, you can use it as a normal battery bank and charge your phone with wire.
i got mine but then recently it been acting up like it won't want to charge half the time i think because it be getting hot but idk
Not sure why it won’t charge but one of the suspect should be high temps.
Thx .. for the info... dang.. apple battery pack is expensive lol
Glad it was helpful 🙏🏽
My Anker 622 stopped charging after a year.
Is it just the wireless charging or it completely stopped working even with cable?
When u buy it. It comes with two years warranty
Bro can you suggest a wireless charger for iphone 15 pro
Honestly bro I have found the Apple battery bank the best. Obviously it has issues like very small capacity but it works fine for me.
si, yo muy a mi pesar porque me encanta , la tengo que devolver se me calento mucho el telefono y me bajo solo en medio dia 2% de la salid de la bateria . asi que nada me quedo con la de apple y voy a lo seguro
Thanks for the comment 😊
Anker battery pack is horrible my phone heats up like crazy
Thank you for the comment !!
Is it possible to use anker powerbank by wire instead of magnet?
Yes absolutely, to be honest that is what U am doing with my Anker battery pack currently.
@@IncrementalNova how about the wire option performance?
@@dielreis The performance is good but I think if you just want to use it with wire then it is better to get a power bank with bigger capacity and fast charging.
@@IncrementalNova I am looking for an Easy to carry power bank. Thanks a lot for sharing information with us. Warm hug from Brazil
Yes you can, and the battery will be more efficient because does not waste energy from heat. Something to keep in mind when charging by magnets is make sure stay attentive so it does not overheat the phone. I just never play videos while the battery is connected. If im charging I don't watch videos on phone. This will overheat the phone. Remember electronics need to breath to cooldown. The only time I ever leave connected is if the phone does not run the risk of getting damaged by dropping such as in bed and i just take the case off to let the phone cooldown.
Does apple magsafe battery pack works with iphone se 2020 ?
It will not work best with iPhone se 2020. Apple MagSafe battery pack is ideal for iPhones that are MagSafe compatible with that wireless charging ring at the back. Hope it helps.
you can buy a magnet ring ( I did this with my 13 pro max last year cos I had a rhinoshiled case with no magnets and it works great, it also can be put on any android for turning it into a magsafe compatible device, but I would strongly advice you to put the magnet ring on a case not directly on any phone , cos it might leave a mark after some time if you remove it. ( I bought the Mophie one, I come in a pack of 2 rings )
Rakish?
Ok
LOL What do you expect? It’s a wireless charger and a battery, of course it will get hot.
Clearly you have not used wireless chargers to even understand the issue
apu
Ok
