    www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/d...
The Dunlop Q3 Plus Sportsmax Tires are a great option for riders who want an easy transition when moving their bike from the streets to the track. The Q3 Plus offers amazing grip, stability, and feel which is a must for every rider. The Q3 Plus Sportmax Tires are equipped with Dunlop’s Carbon Fiber Technology which re-enforces the sidewall for cornering maneuvers. To increase longevity in the tires’ tread life, the Dunlop Q3 Plus uses a silica infused long-wearing compound and special lateral grips on the left and right tire to maintain high-caliber traction.

I run the Dunlop Q3 plus on my Z1000 naked and I'm very happy with it. I
typically get 5,000 miles from a rear. I don't burn rubber, drift but DO accelerate aggressively, lean hard angles, power wheelie and ride triple digits on many occasion. The Q3 plus warm up fast, hold the road like a magnet, amazing handling into
and out of hard turns or while flicking the bike. Having trust in my
tires and the performance delivery is a huge reason why I haven't tried
other brands or the Dunlop Q4...guess I never had a reason to. Note: My review
of the Q3 plus doesn't mention rain riding because I don't ride in the
rain, therefore I can't make any claims of the Q3 plus wet weather
    performance.

@@Jp-mk6hj Nope, I'm a 54 yr old kid that hasn't slowed down yet. I left my review to help other's decide if they'd like the Q3 plus. I could care less about brand loyalty, for me it's about the best tire to dollar ratio.

@@nuclearchris832 Dude, I just put a new Q3 plus on my rear about 3 months ago...It was only 2 weeks old and got 2 nails in it at once! I pulled the nails and plugged the tire. luckily it was near the center of the tread. I use the corded type plugs from slime, they work great! I've got 1,800 miles on since the repair-no issues. I've done this once before with a tire that was only a month old too! Too funny...

Had a set of Q2’s on my Blackbird. The big CBR threw a lot at them and those Dunlops kept coming back for more! Very impressed. My bike shop proprietor recommended a diff tire which I tried. I’m sure it’ll get more mileage than the Q2’s but not the performance. Next set: Q3 +.

Used to ride Michelin pilots ( not a bad tire ) but now ride q3+ and I love them. Response and feedback is amazing, cornering is as linear as any other tire. However, for track they are ok, I find that they tend to over heat a bit, not too much, but just enough to mess with ur confidence. But for street use, man these things are superb, amazing! They grip so well and handling is AMAZING. I recommend them to all my boys that ride. A few have switched to them and they are in love.

I just got the Q3 plus today for my 2020 R6. The stock tires only lasted about 3000 miles so let's see how long these Dunlops last. I do aggressive street riding. I'm expecting these Dunlops to last less than 4k miles so if it's more than that, I'll be super pleased.
So far from riding on the new tires, I can say that they have much more grip that the stock Bridgestone tires. I am able to lean more and take turns with more speed. I'm glad I went with this tire.

My fz gets a squirrelly feel on the front under accel above 100 mph.My old bt23s I had before didn’t do this + only lasted 6k in the rear. Totally different bike but I ride the 2012 naked Kawasaki Z1000 DCF with crazy torque and use the Q3 (not Q3 plus). My riding style is 60% normal commute and 40% triple digit speed with hard acceleration/braking. The Q3 is a very stable, grippy, great cornering and predictable tire I get about 5,000 miles at factory suggested air pressure on the Q3. I'm buying the Q3 Plus in a couple of weeks... They claim 20% more wear, that'll be an additional 1000 miles for me hopefully.

I've had Rosso Corsa II and Q3 before. Pirellis have a little bit more grip but take way longer to warm up (I had a crash because of it). Q3+ warms up faster in just a few minutes riding, no need for tire warmers.

My Dunlop SportMax 2 tires had a shiny clear sheen on the surface (when brand new) that seemed to be slick. However, My new Q3 Plus tire has a softer rubber compound, and I didn't notice any slickness on the surface. While tires always grip best when warm, I don't think that the Q3 requires much break in time, at all. But if you want to scuff the edges good and fast, then you can either ride in a circle slowly, while counter leaning, or support your bike on a Rear Stand (in gear) and scuff your rear tire with a Cheese Grater. (Not sandpaper)

@ron heathman how are the q3+ better than the rosso’s? Which one 2 or 3? I dont know if I
Made the right choice but i ordered q3+’s after supercorsa sc2s. I wanted something overall good with more longevity and a harder compound. Also its cheaper lol.

    2. What is the recommenced psi for both cold and hot?

Tires will always grip better when warm, but the Q3 has siliconized rubber that is supposed to remain softer and grippier, in cold weather. Only Racers at the SportTrack use tire warmers, anyway.

    • @RevZilla

The rear is made in a 140/70-17, but the smallest front is a 110/70-17. I believe the 125 has an even narrower 100/80-17 front tire. -DrewZilla

I've got a pair on my 07 R1 and like them for the most part but I'm having a hard time scrubbing all the way to the edge (on the street). I get the bike leaned over but my knee doesn't even touch down when it feels like I start to lose the front. The 07 R1 is really tall but I would think that I should be able to get my knee down considering I didn't have a problem doing so on my former R1's (01, 02 and 06) with Power Sports. Anyone got any suggestions? Roads are decent enough and I've tried different tire pressures. Was thinking about dropping the front end 5mm. I don't know.....

I use 32psi front and 30psi rear. Everyone has a little different style and some bikes...and some tires enhance that style. Do not rule out that maybe your style is a little more friendly with a Power RS...or another tire. I have been using the Q3 for 30,000 miles. I like it a lot, but I remember a time when the Michelin pilot sport came out. I cornered harder on that tire (on a new CBR600F4i ...at the time.) I cornered so hard that my passenger blacked out at just after the apex and didn't wake up unti entering the next corner. Gotta feel the ride. If it does not feel correct and if your gut is giving you some negative feedback, then trust your instincts, brother. You know what you are doing!
