  • Originating in the late Ming Dynasty (AD 1368-1644), Baimei Fist is a kind of ancient martial art. It is said that the style was created by a Taoist named Baimei on Mount Emei located in southwest China’s Sichuan Province. Liu Weixin, who has a martial arts club in Foshan, has practiced the martial art for over 40 years. #ChineseKungfu

    I love this old man’s final lines: a pupil asked me to teach him a unique trick. The most powerful one. I said ok, maybe on the day that I die.
    Kung fu has no unique tricks, it is developed through hard work and patience! I love this

    This one is very good, I like it. Baimei Fist is new to me. I'll have to do some research. I really love China. I feel great respect. I began the study of Martial Arts 45 years ago. And Chinese martial arts 40 years ago. Today I teach privately one or two students at most. It requires a commitment by both parties. We trace our lineage in Hsing Yi Ch'uan back into China for eleven generations. More than 400 years. It is an honor to carry this tradition forward. I must succeed. Thank you for this series. It is good public relations with the west.

    Any form of martial art is good as exercise. Each form has its own merits as well as weak points.
    The important thing about chinese martial art is not to dominate the adversary with force , but to use our kung fu as own restraint and improve own self confidence.

    Fantastic.. thin but limber and powerful.. "you can generate power without 'anger' (or aggression).." There is much to learn from this Sifu and I am updating to explore Bai Mei Kung-fu's 'Swallow' and 'Spit' Techniques..

    • @varanid9
      @varanid9 3 года назад

      "Swallow" is folding your body around an opponent's strike to absorb it, or turning the side of your body it hits in order to let the force pass you by. "Spit" is to use your legs to send out sudden ballistic strike uprooting your opponent; Bil Jee is perfect example. "Sink" is dropping your body weight into your strike. "Float" is holding your body not too limp and not tense, as if you were floating in water, so that you are ready to move instantly and in any direction. Also, Fujian boxers (Pak Mei, Southern Mantis, White Crane, old Wing Chun, 5 Ancestors Fist) use, besides these, also the waist turning power, the expansion and contraction of the abdomen to power their strikes (don't just use the arm, let the force expand out from your center) and, through lots of bag work, develop "heavy hands". All these principles you can see used in Western Boxing, which makes a great sparring method for the Fujian style practitioners.

    • @varanid9
      @varanid9 3 года назад +2

      As effective as the training. If they rely on forms, they'll be dancers. If they emphasize "live" training, it is a very efficient and vicious striking system that would be an excellent companion art to Judo. The moves are similar to Goju Ryu and Uechi Ryu Karate styles, but, with more flow and life.

      I agree with OP. Most of those "internal" guys just do a lot of isometrics and have really weird muscle development so they are used to using more and more varied muscle groups. Even in the video, the guy explains it. 1) he says his martial arts is good for exercise and you can tell by how abnormally shredded he is despite being a super lightweight build. 2) he mentions using even his deltoids to generate extra power. It's like how some martial artists also pop their hip and twist at the waist when striking for extra oomph. Even modern MMA teaches the same trick. 3) He says there's no special tricks, it's a lot of hard work.

      I get good results with a small circle Taiji/Bagua hybrid style I developed. I used to practice Silat and Escrima, since 1993, and I can't practice any of the forms. I use this really mobile footwork and the available forms are impossible to practice for me. All of these styles you are seeing are large circle.
