  • There are four different styles of the Huaquan fist, with less jumping but more hand positions. One uses both hands and both feet, emphasizing hand, eye, body and step coordination. There are also many kinds of steps, like swooping, rounding, leaping and skipping. #ChinaKungfu

    To the MMA morons who never stepped a tatame and like to play the keyboard warrior role on traditional martial arts videos: go actually TRAIN something. This way you'll learn to respect others' efforts and recognize mastery where it is. That's the way true warriors act, no matter which discipline they practice.

      Master of what? if you say this is a dance, it's pretty enough. But don't pretend that it's Wushu, or martial arts. Wushu is for fighting. This old man couldn't beat a skinny 15 year old child. Numerous famous "living legends" of Wushu have already been beaten to a pulp by amateurs who learned a bit of MMA. Here's the truth: These ancient Chinese masters have NEVER fought a single fight. The spend 40-50 years following handed down techniques, and they practice it by having their students attack them in slow motion, in pre-choreographed attacks. "If you opponent does THIS, you respond like THIS". Guess what? This doesn't work in real fights, where people attack you much faster than you can react unless you have actual fighting experience. Real fighting demands speed, strength, cardio, ability to hit, and the ability to get hit and still be able to fight. Old masters like this guy has none of these things, and in the first real fight he gets in, someone will hit him in the nose, and he will be on the ground bleeding and confused.. Stop encouraging this kind of traditional Wushu. Some nice Taijiquan for health benefits? sure.. Wushu for fighting, I'm still waiting for the first master to actually use wushu effectively.

    • @emhgarlyyeung

      @Ironfangzu Martial arts just like human growth has phases. Whether self defence started the need for fitness or the other way around. All traditional Martial Arts had phases of violence, fighting, fitness and spiritual development- ultimately the greatest man being someone who can descalate a fight or redirect it, hence traditional focus on building the spiritual aspects. Fighting is about control and is not the same as self-defence or violence. An MMA fighter is good at fighting- bring some self defence concepts (and traditional deadly strikes) then u realise MMA doesn't always work either. Games are with rules, violence doesn't have rules. Just like MMA fighters have been able to use flashy spinning back kicks as effective techniques, many traditional martial arts principles and techniques can also be utilised - if practised to perfection like the ancients. The beauty of this practice is usually the realisation that if you work on yourself you are more likely to avoid the need for fighting, can descalate violence and if necessary use few principles to bring balance back to the equation. Bruce Lee is an example of someone who used traditional principles (and lengthy practice) in context. For health, fitness, self development, martial arts or self defence, traditonal martial arts still has lots to offer to the world. And of ofcourse MMA is great for fighters.

    Had no idea Huaquan was associated with the Hui community, first known Huaquan from Stryker (of MK: Armageddon game). It's also interesting how very similar Huaquan is to Bajiquan (since I practice Baji for almost 3 years myself) from the form to the Duilian (two-person form), it makes sense given that both styles cames from Cangzhou, also as mentioned before, Stryker's Huaquan looked explosive in-game to the point I mistook it as Baji LOL. Hui martial arts in Shandong's Cangzhou region has been very respected from the late Qing to the Republic. Bajiquan Grandmaster Li Shuwen's spearwork is uncomparable and his primary disciple Huo Diange was the guard trainer to the last emperor Puyi. Huo's own disciples were bodyguards and trainers to both parties, Li Chenwu(aka Li Yuhai) was bodyguard to Chairman Mao and Liu Yunzhao(who was also trained by Li Shuwen) was bodyguard to Chiang Kaishek and physical trainer to the KMT army. that's the modern history legacy of Cangzhou. they protect people. i'd love to visit Meng village one day.

It useful to be able to fight without harming the opponent. Sometimes just sufficient display of strength and skill with get them to change their mind. It's the boxing equivalent of the Gracie Rules of Engagement, which is the idea of subduing with out escalating, and, ideally, without causing permanent injury. Controlled sparring is essential.

    The power of Bone resonance. Core strength. A soldier with this technique can take on masses of foe's and even put their energy in to serious metal weaponry, like a 100 pound pole arm( 45 kilograms) Middle finger balance. Crush many opponents like broom sweeping dust. Elite training, to force an opponents reasoning as quick as possible. Thank You for the Video.

      I would even know a way to resonate bone in early training for children. It is an OM technique done in water, of a level metal basin, in a room that can echo.. Where one barely sticks out their nose and mouth to OM submerged. Like a frog, or whale. It will help with focus, breath, balance, inner core strength, blood, and marrow growth. It helped me grow tall and see time. A natural fermentation of inner energy.

    Un pequeño documental pero llenó de sabiduría y concejos, el Kung fu tiene muchos estilos, este es uno ellos, pero lo que nunca entenderé porque siempre han sido celosos de estas artes, en mi país almenos no eh visto escuelas, solo de otros deportes y estilos, es una pena que estas artes tradicionales se extingan poco a poco. Saludos desde Perú

    This is definitely a weapons based form with some standing grappling thrown in that probably converted to open hand when weapons were banned. Most of the hand strikes don't make sense without sword or spear and do the double hand low lunges.

    • @Nuxia108
      @Nuxia108 Год назад

      They say baji and hsingyi were based on spear, and they work just fine empty hand. It's been noted that haquan has similarities, and also with pigua and tongbei. I personally like tongbei because you can box with your forearms if you break your wrists.

      @xlggzzh 3 года назад +2

      这拳法可能是八极拳的其他流派,回民八极拳可不是花架子,俗称回民八大锤,我认识的一个祖传的八极拳女教官,赤手空拳与两名壮年男子发生冲突,将两人打成重伤,差点坐牢,后来赔钱(因为双方都有过错),这是回民传进来的拳法,很刚烈 的拳法,真正的高手在民间,不会抛头露面的,因为一旦出手基本就是非伤即残,说实话,实战远比擂台残酷。再说简单点,任你再狠,打人打狠了还是要吃官司的。

    借的是大食兵,哪来的爱国一说?至于现在为什么如此贬低传统武术,因为有些人想借此否定老习的文化自信。就跟文革一样,说的是文化革命,实际上是政治斗争。我认为武术和文化自信还是别掺在一块,毕竟一个是要功夫的,另一个要嘴皮子。
