- IMPORTANT PLEASE READ FIRST: Make sure you have show extension enabled in folder view tab to see the eldenring.exe. It slipped my mind to mention this in the video. Go offline mode first in game before proceeding with fix to be safe but not guarantee. Also, this was only tested with STEAM version. I cannot confirm if it works with other versions.
UPDATE 6/21/2024 - This same process will work for current update + shadow of the erdtree DLC
UPDATE 2/27: latest update of flawless widescreen elden ring allows fullscreen with uncapped frame rate. Exciting news for those with HDR monitors
UPDATE 4/4: Every time there is a new patch it will break the fix, you will have to redo the process. Recommend verify steam game integrity first then repeat process in video.

It's unprofessional, I won't buy the game until they do. (if ever) It's literally such a simple update, that even modders with no deep knowledge of the source code can do it.
It's more than just ultrawide, the overall pc port is just awful
They're still ignoring the community to this day and the white knights of the souls community see no issue with that. They are thankful that Mr. From Soft served them a crappy port and nobody is allowed to request any improvements

Just got Elden Ring and really enjoying it. I have never really been into PVP or multiplayer so I don't mind the offline. But I do understand the frustration that people in the ultrawide community have with having to do workarounds like this. Really hope that all game devs will put native 21:9 support in games, but eastern devs seem to just completely ignore it. Its sad to see PC versions of game still getting the shaft. I had to mod in PS4 button icons because the game only displays xbox icons.
It's so fucking dumb that a major title like this doesn't have native ultrawide support.

HAHA you literally got the stutter while recording this. your Frames dropped to the 20's at 5:25, and you had a 1-second freeze stop as well.

mine came back to normal after 2 min and never went back to widescreen no matter how many times i tried!

For patch 1.03 if you get question marks with 999 all over the screen you need to verify the game files and redo the part where you rename the anti cheat and duplicate and rename the game executable

I did a fresh copy of the eldenring.exe and renamed it, but didnt work. I will try exactly as you reported and see if it runs again.

Thanks! This worked for me where other explanations did not. App Ver. 1.03.2 Cal Ver. 1.03.3. Can confirm works with 32:9 too. Side note (even though I figured it out) maybe show how to revert things back for pvp enjoyers. Boi is it hard going back though. Great job dude!

@@ultrawidenexus I tried the fix and it does literally nothing in areas where you are supposed to drop frames and sutters. If i stand in an empty spot with nothing going on yes i will get high fps, but as soon as i get on my mount and start travelling i get those sutters. The fps unlock i guess works, but it does not fix the stutter/fps issue.
If someone gets a missing dll error, like msvc100.dll missing, then you need to install visual c++ redistributable 2010 from Microsoft. It’s vcredist_x86.exe and vcredist_x64.exe. I had that issue under windows 11. ;)
I concur. I had the same problem on Win 11 and the visual c++ files fixed it!

So are you saying that From Software still hasn't added official ultrawidescreen support to their newest game RELEASED IN 2022? If that's the case then I'd like to smash the game's box into their faces if there was such a box.

I've been trying to do it myself since yesterday, but it doesn't work. Have any of you done this recently and can confirm that it works for you? What I care most about is unlocking the ultrawide resolution

I Don't have ultrawide, so FOV adjustments was the main thing I wanted this.
So we should always have the tool open before starting ER?
It would've been really nice if devs added little notes on what each fix does tho.
Correct. If you highlight mouse over each fix, it will give you a description of the fix.

You should be using Uberhalit's FPS Unlocker rather than FW if you are only interested in the unlocked frame rate/GSYNC
does it allow to be run in fullscreen mode w/ HDR?. Edit: I actually just looked into it, Uberhalit was integrated into FW but FW is nice to have since it has everything in one like fov slider.
@@ultrawidenexus There is a problem right now with the Fullscreen function, the latest update forces the driver into 60 FPS lock even when the driver itself has disabled VSYNC globally. Uberhalit is working on it rn

It works. But I want to play online, why arent they including such option. I get super motion sick after just a couple of minuted with default FOV.
They make good games but still stuck in their own ways
Sadly I love online but even if i replace the anticheat it will detect something and keep online off for me......
This was working fine for me until yesterday. Not sure if it's a new path or what, but the game suddenly got weird. The widescreen still works while I'm roaming, fighting etc... but now I'm seeing stuff like the map, energy bar, slots, etc all in 16:9.
Also, when I go the "pause" menu it appears in 16:9 as well.
It's as if the widescreen is working, but I'm locked in 16:9 at the same time. I hope that makes sense.
Anybody else experiencing this issue? Any suggestions?

Did they released a new patch? Bought the game today and i cant fix it.. it tells me that its not compatible with the patch. And its a f... disgrace that we have to fix that by ourselves in 2022.. wtf is this...
I haven’t figured why few get that message if they followed exactly but the game been patched twice and this fix still works

I cannot get the FPS unlock to work on this for the life of me. The widescreen correction is working correctly but the framerate is still capped at 60 even with frametime adjustment check on and turned up all the way. I also have it in borderless windowed because I saw some people mention it only works for that. Any idea what I might have wrong?

It's almost a crime to play this game in 16:9 when you have an ultra wide 21:9 high resolution screen .. i am thinking about using some of these mods myself , the only question is : would i get banned if i use this mod (and the playstation button lay-out mod ) when i play Elden Ring online or ? because i heard even mods as minor as the button lay-out change is classified as 'modding' can anybody help me out here ? IF i wanted to play Elden ring online with some of these kind of minor mods that (won't harm any other player in game and) Will enhance my experience .. could i get banned while playing this online (i like to read and place messages and such )?? I tried downloading Flawless Widescreen and it just says "DLL's msvc*100.dll missing" and it won't run.

hmm not working for me when i have the game running and go to the flawless widescreen program it says "Could not find AspectRatio injection point, Elden Ring may have updated to a version that is no longer supported." near the bottom. and it will untick the fix enabled box
make sure ur not skipping any part of the video. If you have try restarting and launch game from install folder not steam

how many times i installed c++ 2010 with no errors. However it will not find the MSVCR100.dll. file.
step 1 i did uninstall Flawless Widescreen 64. then virus check and re install c++ 2010 with no errors then install Flawlwss W agin. Still cant find the .dll file. anyone knows?

Hello, I followed your tutorial to the letter but when I start the game I always have black bars on the left and on the right, nothing to change when I start the game, the fix enabled turns red again

I literally had screen tearing a soon I launch the game and I have a 3070 ti vision
This made me have the white screen bug apon start. Not sure how to fix this can no longer play the game
Update if this happens to you, just go into steam right click the game and hit properties and verify the integrity of game flies and it’ll replace all the files with what originally was there

what do I do if I rename it but the file type doesn't change. also my exe started without .exe or it was just not there

it sucks we can't play online with this. I'm still debating if I should do this or just stick to stock elden ring to play online.
Play online for a few hours and see if you can't play without it :) I'm 30 hrs or so in and I don't miss it. Game much easier with coop I imagine
